Day 4 Melkor ⋆⛧⋆ Mairon

Synopsis: After an eternity of fruitless searching, Melkor finally feels like he has found joy within Eä.

Melkor had spent an eternity searching for the Flame Imperishable. From the luminous heights of the Timeless Halls to the empty depths of the Void to the fabric of Eä itself, he had been everywhere and seen everything, but could never find the one thing he was looking for; until one day he gave up and told himself that it must be with Eru and Eru's alone, forever out of reach, that all of his efforts to create were meaningless in the end and that there was no true joy to be found within Eä. 

But he had been wrong. 

It was after many years of secret courtship, stolen moments and silent kisses, when he watched Mairon dancing in front of him, that he realised he had long since found joy and purpose after all. There was fire twirling around the Maia's graceful form, fire burning inside his fëa as well as Melkor's own, fire within the stars above and the earth below; and it was the most beautiful sight he had ever laid eyes on. 

And it was then that Melkor realised–as much as it pained him to be constrained by the laws of Eä and his inability to create sentient life of his own, his little flame was with him and they would make great things together. 

He held out his hand, and Mairon came to him without hesitation, his golden eyes wide and bright and full of affection. Melkor's fëa felt warm and vibrant with delight, and he pulled the Maia onto his lap, holding him like Arda's most precious treasure. 

"Mine," he purred and tilted his lover's chin upwards with one finger to kiss him.  

"Yours," Mairon affirmed, his voice a breathless whisper, and closed his eyes, melting into the Vala's fiery, passionate kiss. 

Arms wrapping around his little flame, smaller ones embracing him in turn, Melkor  listened to the melodies of their fëar, committed every harmonious and every dissonant note to his eternal memory, and a surge of both passion and possessiveness went through his song like a mighty, all-encompassing crescendo. 

"Come with me," he whispered then, tightening his grip around the Maia, yet still careful enough not to hurt him. Louder, more insistent, he continued, "Stay with me and be mine. Forever. I do not wish to be parted from you any longer."

Mairon let out a small laugh, cupping his cheeks with both hands. 

"I thought you would never ask. Though I will have to ask you for a warm place to stay and a forge all to myself."

"You shall have it and whatever else you desire," Melkor promised, and he meant every word he said; for he had never deceived his little flame in the past and no intention to do so in the future.

"Together, we shall set this world on fire if we must and rebuild it according to our own design." 

He glanced up at the heavens for a moment and smiled. 

He is mine.

This flame you have failed to hide from me, Father, and you will never take him from me again.
