➜ He’s quiet as she speaks, allowing her to just get her emotions out. His fingers are busy, just softly braiding the hair. His mother used to do this to him, back when his hair was longer and when she was around.

➜ He’s not trying to be rude, he really isn’t. That’s just how he is. But in his defense, a teenager suddenly in his office is not how he wanted to spend this afternoon. He adjusts his glasses, then raises an eyebrow.
