-BG3 Act 3 Spoilers- Gale's face when you try to see if he might come around to the idea of sleeping with the drow twins are so truly heartbreaking, but when I was attempting to get footage of inquiring about opening our relationship to including Halsin with him right after the act 3 romance scene, his face is very very similar. His body language is more stand off-ish in the Halsin scene because one involves him and the other is his world (something more important than even his lifelong devotion to his goddess; YOU) being shattered. I love how his face says so much about how much betrayal and hurt he is feeling vs in front of the drow, you can see his immense distress and you would think the hurt is more immense in that moment at a glance. But imo Gale in the brothel is him having gusts of terror that if tav is looking elsewhere for that type of companionship, even if he is involved, that he may lose them at some point and is re-inforcing his long standing belief that he is not enough. He is feeling such fear that he may lose tav because he is not providing enough; not doing enough. In the Halsin proposition photo, the realization that everything he felt, everything he thought was more than his whole world prior to falling in love with tav has now come down to being compromised to - not strangers, but in fact someone he has spent quite a bit of time with and worked to aid. He has sat around fires and cooked for Halsin. They have shared a variety of discussions and grown decently close. So I think in the Halsin scene, this is something that feels like a betrayal of not only a friend, but the person he loves more than anything in the world. Gale wants more than anything to give all of himself to someone and to feel that in return. He does not have the same "prince charming" aspects that Wyll does, but he DOES dream of that type of purity and intense love. Gale is grandiose in his gestures and none of it is fake or exaggerated. He really does just love tav that much. All he needs is to know that he is enough (honestly he is more than enough let's be real), regardless of his magic or what he can "provide" and when the fear he has felt from a young age (always needing to prove himself worthy or good enough at magic or that he will be someone of note) kicks into something he cares about deeply - love/romance, he simply falls apart. I think it's tragic seeing him like this but it really does show just how much tav means to him, and I love him all the more for it. He deserves that same devotion back and I always work to give it to him.
