Which was where this current line of questioning was headed. So Nat resorted to being cryptic. Best to leave the past alone.

The cupcake placed on her desk without a word made Natasha smile, she never really made a big fuss about her birthday, but others seemed to.

"Which one of them told you what today was, was it Clint?"

Nat laughed and pulled him after her. With Tony distracted, they escaped easily. As they spilled out of the party, Natasha pulled Bucky in and kissed him.

For so long, she'd felt lost, but now, with her Avengers family and Bucky by her side, things felt stable and safe.

"I adore you."

Nat smiled and finished her drink before grabbing his hand.

"Come on then, Sarge, we better hurry so you can take me home." Natasha said with a wink. She didn't mind leaving as long as she was with him.

"Off the record?" That caught Natasha's attention. She didn't open up easily, Clint knew that first hand, you had to earn it.

"Another box, just what I wanted," Nat quipped, opening the hinged velvet box.

The gasp that left her was involuntary. And she looked back up at her boyfriend.

"You didn’t."
