Pumpkins are a staple in autumn festivities, pumpkin carving, the major assortment of pumpkin flavored foods, and pumpkin patches. They all come to mind when one thinks about fall, and the potential dates that the season provides. Unfortunately, for Lydia, this is an issue, not because she hates pumpkin, but because she was cursed to be allergic to the festive orange fruit. She had to reject her friends plans of going to a pumpkin patch today. “Ah, well, I’m allergic to pumpkins, I don’t wanna risk anything” she admitted with a wistful sigh. Her friends didn’t mind, it was alright, she could join them in a corn maze or something else later. People being so understanding was something that Lydia was thankful for. Usually Lydia didn’t mind staying out of pumpkin related affairs, but this year it hit harder than usual. She sighed inwardly as she strolled around the shops, staring offhandedly at the loud ads for seasonal items. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies… Great Sevens it’s more in your face then usual this year… She thought silently. It was almost like the universe was laughing at her for having an allergy to this one fruit! The audacity… she groaned as she walked into someone. “Oh I’m sorry!” She sputtered out an apology, “No, it was my fault” the man she bumped into replied. She turned up to face her boyfriend Trey Clover?!

“Trey, what are you doing here?” Lydia gasped as she looked at him, studying to see if she had hurt him by accident. “Ah! Lydia, I’m just buying some ingredients for some fall pastries”. He answered, holding up two hands full of paper bags. “Oooh, what are you making? Pumpkin something I assume” she teased. He nodded, “Correct, there’s a big test coming up, so I’m prepping something nice for the Heartslabyul students”. Trey’s always so considerate, just another thing that I love about him. Lydia admired to herself. It didn’t take Trey long to notice the sour mood his girlfriend was in. “Something the matter?” He smiled. She nodded shyly in response, “Kinda, it’s more of an emotional than a physical problem”. Trey listened to Lydia’s explanation of her predicament, after which he thought of a plan. “How about we don’t bring apples into this equation, and substitute it for something else?” Trey suggested, “substitute it?” Lydia repeated puzzled. “Don’t worry, I’ve got a good idea” he finished and asked his partner to meet him at this same spot later that day.

Lydia sat on a wooden bench reading a novel that she’d recently picked up from a discount book store. Waiting eagerly for her partner’s surprise she heard footsteps approaching. “Alright, I’m here” she recognized Trey’s voice and stood up happily, putting her book away.

A good while later… “You can open your eyes now Lydia” Trey smiled as she pulled her hands down from her eyes. Lydia gasped in surprise at the sight of an apple orchard. “Even though we can’t enjoy pumpkins, we can enjoy apples” Trey said with that oh so familiar bashful tone. She hugged her boyfriend with excitement “This is so sweet of you, Trey!!”. He adjusted his glasses with a smile, “It was nothing, after all, it’s worth seeing you happy, Lydia”. The two spent the evening picking apples, eating apples, and baking all sorts of apple desserts. After all, who said that autumn fun was limited to only pumpkins?

Expanding on this post, here's a more in-depth look at the Treydia AU I'm cooking up! ♡ Also, to clarify, the Twisted Wonderland in this AU has no magic (meaning it's like our world). This is so it has a more Enchanted (the movie) feel to it lol ♡

Lydia's Appearance:

Since Lydia is the main character of her game, she wears something functional but cute (to draw in potential players). She wears a pink and white heart shaped apron (like this one) over a simple white dress (like this) with light pink tights (that match the color of the apron) and white Mary Jane's (that have a light pink bow on each one)

Her hair is the same, except the bow that holds her bun is pink and white gingham (to match the apron). She has heart earrings that match the apron (they're pink and white gingham as well).

Gameplay:

Lydia's game has a casual mode and a story mode, along with an archive that includes every recipe the player's unlocked. For the player to unlock a recipe, they must complete the level the recipe is featured in. Once they've successfully helped Lydia make it, the recipe is then added to the archive (with step by step instructions so they can make it irl)

Certain recipes can only be unlocked by completing the story mode, and once that level is complete, the recipe is then added to casual mode as well.

In casual mode, players can help Lydia successfully make recipes without a time limit. The player can still fail the dish, though game play wise it is easier than story mode.

In story mode, Lydia competes in a cooking competition, with the winner getting their recipes published as a book (along with earning the title of "Recipe Royalty", and a nice cash prize!) The player must face challenging opponents that grow more difficult as Lydia progresses, with some of them not playing fair. Unlike casual mode, story mode has a time limit, with the player automatically losing if time runs out.

Game Bosses:

Throughout story mode, Lydia will have to face off against top contenders to rank up in the competition. These opponents are different than the other's, using their signature recipes and tricks to win.

Whenever Lydia defeats one of these opponents, the player unlocks their signature recipes (and gains a power up they can use). The bosses in Lydia's game are:

Ace Trappola - A college kid who works at a local fast food place, and the tutorial character. He's the one that encourages Lydia to enter the competition, and teaches the player how it works. His power up allows the player to go into overtime (meaning if time runs out, they can use Ace to add an extra 30 seconds to the clock)

Ruggie Bucchi - A cook for multiple diners and restaurants, he makes due with what he has, and is able to make a dish out of anything (as long as it isn't rotten) If the player isn't careful, he'll take their ingredients and swap them out for bad ones. His power up allows the player to get extra ingredients (so if they mess up a dish, or an opponent takes their ingredients, they can use Ruggie to get those ingredients back)

Azul Ashengrotto - Owner of the Mostro Lounge, Lydia cooks against his employee (Floyd) until he steps in (so his "fight" has two phases) If the player isn't careful, octopus tentacles will come and scratch out parts of your recipe (making the player have to guess what ingredients to use, and how much) His power up allows the player to see what recipe their opponent is making, and gives them the opportunity to swap recipes (so if the opponent has a higher rated recipe, the player can use Azul to swap and get an advantage)

Jamil Viper - Personal chef of Kalim Al-Asim, his opponents underestimated him (which he used to his advantage) and quickly rose to the top (due to his amazing cooking skills). If the player isn't careful, their screen will be obstructed with snakes, making them unable to see what they're doing. If the player is unable to stop Jamil's eyes from flashing red, their screen will be "frozen", and Lydia will be unable to move for 5 seconds. He is considered the hardest boss in the game (besides the final boss), and is unable to beat without using Ace. His power up allows the player to "freeze" their opponent for 15 seconds (making them unable to cook or use their powers against the player)

Vil Schoenheit - A celebrity chef who cooks with his apprentice (Epel). If the player isn't careful, he will "poison" your dish (making you have to start over). When facing Vil, the player is unable to swap recipes (so pick wisely!). His power up allows the player to "poison" their opponents ingredients, making them unusable (putting their opponent at a disadvantage, and making them use a different recipe)

Idia and Ortho Shroud - The final boss of the cooking competition, Idia entered his brother Ortho (a robot with amazing cooking skills) when he heard Lydia joined, wishing to see her again (since they're exes). With how competitive he is, Idia has no plans on losing, and does everything he can to make Ortho win. If the player isn't careful, Idia will use his tablet to do one of three things (which is randomly selected): hack the clock to deduct 10 seconds from it, swap the player's recipe with a random one (which they can't switch back), or "pause" what the player is doing (meaning if you were working on one part of the recipe, you now have to work on something else until Idia "unpaused" it)

After completing the story mode, the player then unlocks "bonus levels", which are updates added to the game featuring new opponents to face. (Maybe... your OC? 👀)

I know I've written fics in the past where the boy's tsums take the attention/affection of the Reader from them, but now I'm tempted to write a scenario like that, except it's the boy's nuis taking the attention/affection lol ♡ (And they aren't even sentient like the tsums... they're just plushies... and yet... lol ♡) I definitely need to write it for Treydia, as I just think it'd be so cute ♡♡♡♡♡

So I have an idea for Treydia that I wanted to share (but I don't know if I'm cooking or not, so I wanted to hear what you guys think!)

Essentially it would be an AU where Lydia is the main character of a game Trey likes to play (the game is pretty much Cooking Mama, except the player is helping Lydia try and cook dishes successfully based on the recipes given. Trey likes the game since it gives you step by step instructions to make every recipe the game mentions, but you only unlock the recipe after you beat the level. Plus he thinks the main character is cute lol ♡)

Since Trey isn't really a gamer, I was thinking the game could be a mobile game (so that way it makes sense for him to play/own it, since I don't think he owns any game consoles, but we know he has a phone!)

One day, due to mysterious circumstances (maybe an accident with magic?), Lydia ends up in the "real world" (Twisted Wonderland) and has to find a way to get back to her world (the game she's in) It's a mix of how Yuu ends up in Twisted Wonderland from "our world" (except Lydia's world is a video game) and the movie Enchanted (since Giselle goes from an animated/fairy tale world into our world/real life)

I was debating on whether I want this to a non-magic AU or not (just to give it more of an Enchanted feel) or to even make some of the other members of the Twst cast part of her game (maybe they were "bosses" from the main story and are coming into the "real world" in an attempt to bring her back?) but let me know what you think ♡

Oh right! I forgot to post this, but for Halloween Trey and Lydia will be going as Hirotaka and Narumi from Wotakoi ♡ (It's so them lol ♡)

Lydia was the one that suggested the cosplay since Trey didn't know what Wotakoi was (and Lydia spent most of the night staring at him due to how good he looked lol ♡)

Since I never really talk about them, I just want you to imagine Trey taking care of a sick Lydia (while I'm having health issues). People haven't really seen her around much, and when she does go out (usually to work at Sam's or the Mostro Lounge) Trey will visit during her shift to check up on her (and will walk her back to her dorm after her shift ends)

If he hasn't heard from her in a while, he'll even send her a text to ask how she's doing (or if she needs anything) ♡ Just being so supportive and being there for her ♡♡♡

When he stirs she puts his glasses on his face, the world becoming more clear as his eyes slowly open ♡♡♡ (his lids heavy as he longs to go back to sleep)

She looks down at him fondly, either cupping his face or playing with his hair as she tells him, "Good morning, sleepyhead" or "Good morning, grumpy pants/mr. grumpy pants" (teasing him affectionately ♡♡♡)

I've actually talked about something similar with Syder about Lydia's cat making the same smirking expression Trey does (and that Trey is oblivious to it while Lydia is like, "HOW IS MY CAT DOING THAT!?!")

So I just adore the idea of the cat having the same grumpy demeanor Trey does when he wakes up lol ♡ (Lydia just watching the two of them slowly wake up beside each other, the same expression on both of their faces lol ♡)

I also love the idea of Lydia waking up before Trey to make breakfast for him, and either having to go wake him up when it's done, or bringing it to him to have breakfast in bed, or the smell of food causing Trey to slowly come down and join her (still half asleep and a bit grumpy lol ♡)

I can just imagine Lydia cooking on the stove and Trey walking over to her all tired, wrapping his arms around her as she tells him good morning (and watching him as he almost falls back asleep lol ♡)

A little something I realized from my Treydia AU (more info here and here) is just... how sad it's going to be when Lydia returns to her world. Cause even though I call this a Treydia AU (cause they do fall in love) they sadly don't get together in the end.

No matter how much they want to be together, at the end of the day Lydia is a video game character, with a set path/story predetermined for her. Her game needs her to function, which is why the other characters went after her when she suddenly disappeared...

I know when she finally leaves it'll be heartbreaking for her, crying as Trey does his best to hold it together as he comforts her. There's no guarantee she'll remember him when she goes back, and the thought of losing the time they spent together hurts.

Trey gives her something to remember him by, an accessory she can wear or a piece of jewelry. It becomes a precious item for her, leaving players questioning if she had always worn it (since now all the art/game play of her has changed to include it)

Though she may not remember where she got it from, or why it's so important, the feelings it brings remain. Even now, when they're separated by a screen ♡

(While I don't think her and Idia would end up back together, I can definitely see the creators of her game pairing her up with one of the bosses from the main story. Maybe in an update/sequel? It would be a bittersweet moment for Trey when he sees an advertisement for it, happy that she was happy yet at the same time sad, that it couldn't be him...)
