why did your muse become an idol?

being an idol was never really something that crossed harley’s mind before a gold star agent reached out to her, but music was always something that had been in her life. between performing with the band she was in and her youtube song covers, harley always knew she derived great comfort from singing and performing. part of that can be attributed to the validation she receives because of it, and as selfish as it sounds, that probably is the strongest driving force behind harley’s career choice. she’s very externally motivated, and so upon knowing that a real agent from a real company was scouting her, she had no hesitation jumping right into it.

what does your muse think of their company and their group?

as mentioned before, harley basically jumped right into this whole idol situation without much thought. and to be honest, she isn’t really one to carefully consider the pros and cons of any situation. for now, she’s riding the high still — loves being a part of ultraviolet, loves being a part of gold star media, and she couldn’t be more proud of international recognition that ultraviolet is receiving. to harley, gold star clearly is doing something right if they’re receiving that much attention.

is your muse on their first contract or their second? if they’ve renewed, what were their feelings around that at the time and what were their hopes for their second contract? if they haven’t renewed, what are their current thoughts on the end of their eventual first contract?

ultraviolet are on their first contract and are up for renewal in 2026 — in usual harley fashion, she hasn’t really given it much thought yet especially with it being four years away, which seems like such a faraway time to harley. but considering that she’s still got a lot she wants to achieve, both as ultraviolet’s harley and as harley shin herself, i’d expect that she wouldn’t hesitate at all to renew her contract when the time comes around.

what are your muse’s goals, ambitions, and motivations?

harley’s motivations are mostly extrinsic, with the greatest one being validation from the people around her. it’s why she feels like she’s thriving, she loves basking in the affection she receives from fans. in terms of goals and ambitions, she’s still figuring herself out, but for now she’s mostly focused on doing her best in whatever responsibilities gold star gives to her. not to forget, trying to pursue songwriting on the side as well! she does cling to an overly optimistic worldview for now, that as long as she keeps putting in effort and hard work, she’ll continue to do well in this job. but i do see that changing in the future!

what moments or people in your muse’s life are or have been the most impactful and/or the most important to them?

most impactful people would definitely be the band she was apart of, most notably the high school senior who she adored. i wouldn’t say that harley fully knows this yet, but her time with the band shaped her in many ways — it’s what got her in touch with music, in the first place. this is something i’ll probably expand on a little more next time, but in general her days with the band pretty much mark the first time she felt a sense of belonging. they’re no longer in contact now and she tries not to think about them too much, but that’s mostly because there’s a tinge of guilt mixed in with the nostalgia she feels for them. it’s something she can’t shake off and she doesn’t quite understand yet.

what are five of your muse’s favorite things? feel free to expand on why this is and/or how these became their favorite things.

01 ━━ first has definitely got to be the electric guitar she played during her time in the band, it’s pretty old by now and beaten-up but she’s still using it. 02 ━━ the very first fan letter she’d received. harley keeps all of her fan letters in a little box, but this particular one is kept tucked away at her bedside. she likes to take it out to read every now and then. 03 ━━ a taro milk tea plush toy gifted by a fan after they noticed that it’s her favourite drink. she hugs this one to sleep!! 04 ━━ the skateboard jihoon bought her years back, when she’d pestered him to teach her. it’s one of her favorite things to do now. 05 ━━ a little film camera she bought recently, because snapping photographs is something new she’s picking up.

what is one conflict, internal or external, that your muse is currently dealing with, has recently dealt with, or will need to deal with in the future?

honestly don’t think harley is self-aware enough at the moment to deal with internal conflicts, but i’ve mentioned a lot that harley can be a little too naive for her own good, in the sense that it’s impractical. this is something i definitely see her having to grapple with in the future! also, the idea that she can’t always have everything she wants no matter how hard she tries is going to be a tough pill to swallow, but she’ll probably have to familiarize herself with that notion soon enough. if your muse has established career claims, what are their thoughts on their career so far? if they do not, how do they feel about not having individual activities yet? what would they like to do in the future, if anything? if they don’t have ambitions for individual activities, explain why.

most of harley’s established career claims are in fashion and modelling, and she’s pretty happy with that so far! she’s also managed to have a hand in writing the lyrics for some of ultraviolet’s songs, and even though they’re just partial lyrics those are what she’s most proud of so far. her latest endeavor has been towards the realm of variety shows, when she attended amazing saturday, and she really had fun on there! most of what harley shows on camera follows closely with her own personality, so she doesn’t have much of a problem in that area. it’s made her realize that other than brand deals, she would also really love to do more variety shows in the future!

here’s the quintessential best friends plot! wild hearts against the world type beat. tbh, this would also be super fun for a clique, if enough people are interested? keywords here are escapism, impulsivity, here for a good time not for a long time, just any and all things fun! there’s many possibilities to this that i would love to explore, but overall i’m looking for a feel-good friend/friend group that harley can run to whenever she wants to have fun. (and vice versa, of course!)

meaning of you — inspo: 1 & 2 & 3

i’m a sucker for these, so i just have to throw it in here ⁠— an opposites attract slow burn thing, in which they’re simultaneously bringing out the best and worst in each other all the time. i’d love for this to serve as an unravelling for them both, in the sense that they inadvertently learn more about themselves in the midst of them trying to learn about each other, and they come to discover however much capacity they have to be a better version of themselves? if that makes sense dhgjkdfn this all sounded way more coherent in my head, sorry.... i see this unfolding into a 500 days of summer-esque romance, with the whole ‘i don’t want a relationship but we act like a couple’ vibe but everything else in the plot, how they met / their current dynamics etc, are all very open to discussion!

please give me someone harley knew before her family left korea! that happened when she was ten, so a primary school classmate or a neighbour she lost touch with would be really cute to have.

so, just to list some ways which this could go: “we were childhood friends and i’m exactly the same but you’ve changed a lot this is weird what do we do” / they reconnect and everything is like it was before ⁠— and i think it would be really fun if this was an opposites friendship, harley being the princess-y type and maybe your muse being someone that’s more badass yet they both can and will fuck up anyone who messes with the other one without hesitation / if it takes on a romantic dynamic, a slight age gap plot in which your muse is an older kid harley had a crush on for forever when they were kids but she’s never done anything about it just because she assumes her feelings would never be reciprocated and it felt like she was always seen as just a little girl or a little sister to your muse, then fast forward to now and they end up bumping into each other again in the industry???
