thinking about rogue in terms of fight or flight and how she's inherently stubborn and argumentative and always ready for a fight when it comes to standing up for herself or other people. she's hot headed, she's raring for a fight, she just wants to punch things.

but she's also so good at running away when things get emotionally tough. her dad hates her for being a mutant? she leaves. mystique tricks her into taking carol's powers and carol starts fighting back? she leaves. genosha happens? she leaves again. it's her default state when things require her to be vulnerable or have a tough talk.

and even on a smaller scale when it comes to her powers and remy's flirtation, instead of having the tough conversations about feelings she just dodges it every time, walks away and, in most cases, gets a little fiesty and fighty. because if she can't totally run away the easy option is to push people away and keep them at a distance.

i don't really know where i was going with this, i was mostly thinking about the people who think her choice in the last episode was out of character when she's actually always been teetering on the edge because she purposefully keeps herself on that edge. and needless to say it's not a good response and it needs a lot of working on but that's why we got to where we are.
