“I told you I’d take you out for barbecue this week.” Armin grinned as he slid into a booth across from Nesrin. “I’ve also been craving this for who knows how long,” he told her, his fingers grabbing a menu from the table. “What are you in the mood for? I’m thinking the messier the better.” His eyes moved across the menu, though for as long as he and the restaurant had been around, one would think he would have it memorized it by now. “We can even split things if you want to get more than one thing, I’m never opposed to that.”

“Nes!” Armin called out with a wave of his hand. His fiancée was at work, so he planned on meeting up with Nesrin. In the last three years, their friendship had found a familiar footing that they had back in high school. “Sorry I was running late, I had a client call about their dog and she’s chatty,” he laughed softly, shaking his head as he approached her and came to a stop. “I hope you weren’t waiting long and regardless, I owe you lunch.” He smiled softly at her, never going to hang out with Nes without treating the two of them to food.
