Oh thank god I was worried it still wasn't clear. I tried to make it as clear as I could without outright saying it, but if it's still going over heads I need to make more edits jklasjdf.

Yes, Steph is having an insane gay crisis right now. She is really going through it. It is the year of our lord 2001, Steph is Cajun/Catholic and grew up in Ukrainian & Italian cultures, and she is not taking it well. We've seen her definition of feminism, guys. It's not pretty.

Starfire kissed her for Language Acquisition, Steph had a LOT of confusing feelings, Starfire is from Alien Planet: Population Alien and doesn't know what a homosexuality or homophobia is, the predictable ensued. One can only imagine the mental gymnastics. "Well, she's an alien, so she's not REALLY a girl, so it's fine". "I mean, it's actual Starfire, she'd be everybody's exception". "My complete obsession over Cass Kane for actual years has always been extremely normal and heterosexual of me and I don't appreciate any insinuation that it was ever not heterosexual". Girl, it was a full-on Princess Mononoke situation. It ain't.

It's an identity shift, and it's one of the big reasons why she gave up being Robin. Robin was about showing the world who she was, and that person has changed. That's not a bad thing, but so much of who Steph is was about knowing who she is, and finding something new within her is stressful. What being bisexual in 2001 does to a mofo I guess.
