Either be ignorant, arrogant, or lack basic comprehension skills. Because being all three is just embarrassing.

If someone asked you a question, and you responded incorrectly because you didn't understand the question, don't get mad when someone corrects you.

If the definition you have for a certain terminology doesn't match the actual definition for that terminology, and you provided an inaccurate terminology for another definition because of your skewed perception, don't be upset when someone corrects you for the sake of another.

If you immediately get defensive, disrespectful, and self-admittedly sarcastic because you misunderstood a question and the sincerity of a correction and apology, you have no right to accuse another of insincerity and passive aggressiveness.

Just because you have tunnel vision and are willfully ignorant, that doesn't give you the right to be a jackass. And if you incorrectly "inferred" a question and gave the wrong answer, you can't be mad when someone corrects you and gives the correct answer according to the question.
