I read what you wrote about comforting Arlie and how she tends to show her love in other ways rather than physical affection and I thought a sad and potentially angsty headcanon. Imagine Arlecchino is often so busy and doesn't show physical affection a lot and when she does, her lover is often surprised when it comes and cherishes those gestures like they're never going to see Arlie again and Arlie is both amused and worried, wondering, "Damn, am I really that distant?"

It's no surprise that being the Father of the orphanage and the Fourth Harbinger keeps Arlecchino more busy than not, you knew that from the moment you met her. However, the reality of the situation doesn't hit you that much until you two get into a relationship together. Despite having your own duties to attend to, often your mind and body crave Arlie's touch very much, especially since she seems to lack in that department. Which again, isn't that surprising considering how your lover is not only busy, but also her love language is not one of physical affection. You know you should be thankful that your wife still makes time for you but! You just want some affection! So when Arlecchino does wrap her arms around you, brush your cheek, and idly finger your hair, naturally you are filled with a burst of excitement that is so obvious that it has your wife confused for a second before you reciprocate in full. Until she realizes the whole situation and strokes your back as a sort of apology.

As much as Arlecchino would like to satisfy your needs and not leave you touchstarved, both of you know considering her status in the Fatui she can't exactly do that. But you know that your wife still loves you, though you may not feel her touch that often, you can still feel her love tingling through your body even by just the thought of her. For now, you'd have to endure with just that. At least when it does happen it feels all the more better. Oftentimes these moments are very silent where you two just hold each other.
