you watched with pride as your girlfriend jogged over to the sidelines, smacking her palm against laia's and clapping the catalonian on the back who raced across the pitch to take her place.

you waited patiently as leah greeted the coaching staff, shaking hands and having a quick word with the defensive head and pointing out a few things as he slid over to speak with jonas and leah made her way down the line of subs, fist bumping each girl as she went.

"hello bench warmer." the blonde teased with a grin, quickly pecking your lips and dropping down onto the grass in front of you, waving off frida's offer to move down a seat so your girlfriend could sit beside you.

"charming as ever darling." you sighed with a smile, handing her a recovery shake as she shuffled back slightly to lean against your legs, patting your knee affectionately.

as she locked into a conversation with alessia who was sat on your other side you zoned out a little, chin resting on your fist and watching the game.

"babe!" you glanced down as leah shook your leg, raising an eyebrow. "do you remember the florist? the one down the street from that bakery we like?" leah questioned as you smiled.

"lee we can gossip all you want on the drive home, watch the game." you laughed quietly, knowing the blondes tendencies far too well as she huffed and turned back to speak with alessia.

arsenal had a two goal lead but you knew even if there was only twenty minutes left that anything could happen, which is why you paid little attention to your girlfriends stories.

though you could tell she was getting into them given the way her hands darted about as she spoke making you smile fondly as alessia and now kyra hung off the older girls every word, also now clearly invested into her tales.

"leah!" you whined shoving her shoulder as your girlfriend pinched your inner thigh, having tapped you a few times and getting no response. "i called your name nicely first! space cadet." her hand reached up to poke at your cheek as you pushed it away and sat back properly.

"you know the girl from the bakery we like yeah? the one who always slips us extra pastries when the boss isn't in, olivia? olive? i think its olivia." leah again tried to draw you in as you shook your head.

"you're a terrible gossip williamson, watch the girls! and you, stop encouraging her less!" you warned the grinning blonde beside you who shrugged, kyras head popping over her shoulder matching her eagerness. "why? she's a great story teller!" the australian defended as leah hit your knee with a happy smirk and you rolled your eyes.

"stop yapping and support your teammates! all three of you." you warned a little more sternly, the younger girls beside you deflating somewhat as leah rolled her eyes but turned around to face the pitch, sipping at her shake.

but once the beverage was finished it failed to serve as a distraction, leah growing restless and leaning over to tap alessia's knee and you sighed as within seconds both her and kyra were once more hanging off your girlfriends every syllable.

"-the florist!" you only caught the last of your girlfriends sentence, drawn into the conversation by the loud gasps of shock from the younger girls beside you and even frida who leah seemed to have sucked in now too.

"wait what?" you questioned with a frown, clearly having missed the build up as you watched manu make a diving save and breathed a sigh of relief.

"well well well. look who wants in on the gossip train!" leah smirked as you rolled your eyes and shook your head, ignoring her and instead turning back to the game. "whatever." you rolled your eyes stubbornly, focusing on the pitch again but feeling leahs eyes bore up into you.

"fine! you've twisted my arm, i'll tell you." leah tapped your thigh to gain your attention back as you couldn't help but be amused by her obvious enthusiasm. "back to my original question, you know the florist-" leah began tracking backward as you nodded.

"the one near the bakery we like, i do. what about him?" you frowned as leah huffed. "bubba theres layers to this story, don't interrupt!" the blonde warned sternly wagging a finger at you as you shoved alessia who giggled.

"well the florist. so he's married yeah? he has that photo of his wife and kid on the counter, and he always has that gold wedding band on. i remember because its got his wives initials carved into it which is quite cute, or maybe its their kids initials?" leah frowned, pausing as you again nodded though this time wordlessly.

"anyway not important. well i went in to see him on tuesday, remember i got you that huge bouquet and brought you breakfast in bed and then we had second bre-" you hurried to cover her mouth as the tips of your ears flushed red.

"leah what we do in the bedroom is private!" you hissed in warning for the words which you'd stopped before they fell. "we already heard about it when she told us the story." kyra piped up cheekily as you groaned and removed your hand, shrinking a little in embarrassment.

"anyway. well i went in on tuesday and no wedding band, no picture." leah continued on completely ignoring your reaction, pulling your hand away and kissing your knuckles sweetly before letting go.

"which is weird right? but then i also went to the bakery because as we both know their bread is the very best bread for a ham sandwich. so i went in to get a loaf and i noticed there was a different woman serving, not olivia or olive whatever her name is who usually always works on tuesdays." leahs eyes narrowed as you hummed to show you were listening.

"so i subtly asked, more so joked really, about where she was. turns out she's on maternity leave? i didn't even notice she was pregnant but apparently she's due in a few weeks!" leah scoffed in disbelief as you frowned, also not having picked up on that throughout the many months you and leah had frequented the bakery.

"so while i was waiting for the bread, and i won't lie babe i did get a croissant and finish it before i got home so you wouldn't know." leah smiled apologetically as you shoved her head with a playful roll of your eyes.

"but this is the scandal of it all. so i overheard one of the bakers on the phone and it turns out that-" leah was cut off as cheers errupted around meadow park, the final whistle blowing signalling the game was over and arsenal had indeed reigned victorious.

you waited patiently for leah to finish, watching as she placed her palms on your knees and used them to help her push up to her feet before holding out her hands to help you up.

"turns out that..." you trailed off eagerly with wide eyes as the rest of the girls began to jog out onto the pitch to congratulate everyone and greet the fans.

"i'll tell you later. come on gorgeous!" leah kissed your cheek and wandered off after lia as your jaw dropped. "what happened?" you grabbed alessia with wide eyes who shrugged. "its leahs story! i'll probably miss details and tell it wrong." the blonde tugged her hands away and followed after kyra as you groaned.

"leah!" you huffed in annoyance, hurrying after her and hating how much she'd peaked your curiousity.

"leah you can't leave it there, finish the story!" you whined catching up to her as lia just smiled in amusement not even needing to know the context as your girlfriend just tutted and slung an arm over your shoulder, kissing your cheek again with a grin.

"nah we can gossip all you want on the drive home, right baby?"

Summary: Frida gets a surprise

There's something about the atmosphere at Borehamwood that Frida likes. Maybe it's the pitch or the changing room or something else. But, secretly, Frida thinks it's the fans.

They turn out in droves, filling the stands and lining up for hours to get in.

The fans are perfect and the signs are funny too.

Frida likes the flags the best though. It's not often that she sees a Norwegian flag in the stands. Plenty of English flags and Ireland flags too (Katie seems to have a never ending amount of fans from Ireland flying over just to see her play).

It's always a nice day to see a Norwegian flag in the crowd. They don't even have to be the big ones hanging over the railings or the ones that fans would give her to wear around her shoulders.

Any flag, big or small, was always welcome to see in the stands.

Frida thinks they make her play better. She sees it and she almost always scores a goal or assists someone else's.

Just like today.

She'd spotted it in the second half, a little handheld flag being waved over by the seated area. She thinks a kid is holding it but it's too far away to properly see.

But the ball was at her feet and then suddenly it was in the back of the net and, as Frida celebrated, she knew it was seeing her flag that got her through it all.

She sees the flag again when the match is over, waving back and forth.

She follows the flag to a little hand. The hand to an arm. The arm to an Arsenal shirt. The Arsenal shirt up to two chubby little cheeks and those chubby cheeks to a very familiar face.

Frida's moving again before anyone can stop her. Stina tries to talk to her but Frida doesn't wait. She's not meant to hop the barrier but she does.

She takes the steps two at a time before reaching the little girl with the flag, crushing her into a hug.

"Hi, Mama," You whisper against her.

"Hi, squishy," Frida says to you. She lifts her head up to rest her chin on your head, looking at Emma. "Hi."

"Hello," Emma chuckles," Good surprise?"

"The best surprise."

Frida releases you but you don't move, happy to curl into her body.

"Did you see my flag, Mama?" You ask," I bought it just for you!"

"I did see it, squish," Frida says. One arm wraps around you again while the other reaches out for Emma. "I scored that goal for you, you know."

You giggle. "Silly, Mama. You don't know we were here!"

"But I saw your flag," Frida insists," And that made me score my goal. Thank you, squish."

You smile at her, a big smile that has Frida raining kisses down on your face. "It was a good goal, Mama. Mummy was very happy."

Emma's face goes a little red at that but Frida doesn't care about teasing her right now, more than happy with you in one arm and Emma's hand in her own.

"I'm glad," Frida says, looking down at you again," I'm glad my girls are happy."

"I'm always happy to see you, Mama!"

She isn't quite sure why but Frida chokes a little, trying to force down her tears so you don't notice but you do.

"Mama," You say," You're crying."

"Happy tears, squish," She assures you," I am very happy that you and Mummy decided to surprise me."

"We woke up very early," You say to her," And then we got on a plane."

"It's been a long day," Emma agrees. She draws you away from Frida and you go willingly. "Go and get changed and we'll head home."

"Come with me," Frida blurts out.

"Home?" Emma asks in amusement," I assumed we were already doing that."

"No, I mean to the locker room. I don't think I can cope being separated now."

Emma bounces you on her knee. "Would you like that, squish? Going into the locker room with Mama?"

You nod, head bobbing up and down. "Yes, please."

Emma gets up and settles you on her hip so you're comfortable. She keeps her fingers threaded with Frida's as she's guided through the halls and into the locker room.

Most of the girls have already come in so Frida's one of the last and everyone stares when she leads you and Emma in.

You've met the Arsenal girls before but you're not too familiar with them because you live in Sweden with Mummy most of the time, going with her to practice at Linköping.

So, you get put in Mama's cubby as she changes. She makes silly faces at you while Mummy talks to a few people she knows.

Mama was wearing a red Arsenal shirt like yours. She always gets you a new one whenever the new kit launches so you can match.

You don't see Mama in person a lot because her life is in England but she always calls every night to read you your bedtime story. She does all the voice correctly and she always makes you laugh.

You like that you get to have your favourite stories read to you in person tonight.

"Ready to go, squish?" Mama asks.

"Yes, Mama. We going home now?"

Frida beams at you. "Yes, we're going home."

"woah it seems familliar... ANYWAYS i have to go to the store!!" and drone almost crashes into him lol. Sooo he buys random snacks, annoys the worker and pays with the credit card they found earlier.

Gandhi is running back home, while Abe and JFK have a conversation. JFK feels comfortable here in their new shelter and doesn't want to go anywhere. Abe wants to take care of other clones that roam the streets alone. "I don't care about them", says JFK.

"wdym you don't care about others, you were worrying about cleo all day" - "NOT IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!! she's my gf, yknow!!!" - "but what if i, your bro, was living outside, on dangerous streets full of killer clowns and nukes..." - "OKAY fine do whatever you want". And then they randomly remember how they were forced to wear their cloneparents' outfits blah blah blah very funny

"guys, stop fooling around, i just found out why Cleo is sick" - "SPIT YO SHIT JOAN-" and suddenly Gandhi breaks in with a plastic bag "KAWABANGAAAAA here's your food" - "um and a ball?" - "HERE IT IS." so they sit at the table and talk about Cleo.

SNAKE BITES!!!! Can you guess whose snake it was... yeah... anyways Gandhi thinks it's a vampire LOL (abe: holy shit where's my axe). Also there's Edward from Twilight behind Joan at the bottom of the page. Abe believes Gandhi and screams something like "THAT MEANS OTHER CLONES ARE IN DANGER" and Joan comforts him telling that they'll save them later, after they take care of Cleo. And then JFK make a joke and they laugh. Haha. SCUDWORTH'S WALKING DOWN THE STREET.

"I miss the tower BC NOW I HAVE NOWHERE TO LIVE" - "shouldn't have sold your apartment for new laboratory equipment weeeesleeeyy" - "I HAVE PRIORITIES YKNOW" - "soooo you're friendless and can't even spend a night at someone's place" - "maybe... ugh... no, they don't want me back probably" - "hotel then? weeeesleeeyyy" - "wait is your battery low" - "yeah you forgor to charge me" - "SORRRYYYY I'M DUMB"

"QUICK, TO THE HOTEL, LET'S CHARGE YOU" and they walk away. Candide looks at them through the monitors. Looks like she can monitor some parts of the Exclamation city. She comes closer and sits in front of the monitors. Presses the alert button and talks into the microphone: "We're starting the operation in an hour. Shadow police, get ready."

THAT'S ALL.

Next parts were about Cleo seeing hallucinations bc of her illness, guys (abe, gandhi and jfk) having a walk outside, saving Van Gogh, but being chased by the Shadow police soldiers. Then they come back safe and sound thanks to Gandhi. Meanwhile Mr. B is charged, Scuddy sees the shadow police and goes looking for clones to warn them. He finds them in the shelter... and thet's all i've got. Only 4-5 parts. That's where my motivation died.

Hope you're not too sad about this, i'll rewrite my AU a little and maybe do something cooler than a comic lol.

Okokok, I hear you but also when it says "so serious it's funny" it makes me IMMEDIATELY want to make her smaller than biblically accurate Mikey. A super stoic, serious and dangerous giant isn't funny. What IS funny, is a 4 inch tall super serious and stoic turtle who can easily take down something the size of Gus

Plus I'm adopting the idea of her being a bog turtle and those guys ARE smaller than box turtles soooo....

She also seems to be the person Big Mama trusts most with valuable artifacts so the small size would make her incredibly good at spotting an authentic item or if someone is trying to sell her fake ones by eyeing the tiniest of details.

Re: trigger warnings and contents, I think it was a very good idea for the movie to have its trigger warnings before it began really rolling. I had a pretty idea going into the film that it would have some difficult content, but if I hadn't it would have been very challenging. I'm not someone that I would say is triggered by SA onscreen, exactly, but I can have a tough time with it, that's a big component of Blink Twice. In many ways, I would call it a "rape revenge" movie, which is obviously a fairly famous category in the horror and thriller genres.

That being said, I think this is a successful entry/re-examination, compared to, say, A Promising Young Woman, which I think failed in that regard.

This is in part because Kravitz (who has definitely done some things I'm not a fan of in her off hours... But this was a great directorial debut, and I'm very interested in seeing what she does next) really does examine, imo, race as much as she examines the power men have over women. And that's... important. Because most of these particular revenge movies do center white women and the concept of the pure white womanhood and that specifically being corrupted.

I loved, for example, that Frida was allowed to have a fragility and softness that made her susceptible to Slater. She had a crush on him. Arguably, so did Sarah. It's important that Frida is this, as a friend of mine put it, "indisputably Black" woman (even when Black women are given roles in movies, cinema definitely favors women who look like Zoe Kravitz over women who look like Naomi Ackie—which isn't to say someone who looks like Zoe is at all *not* a Black woman, there are simply people the movie industry prioritizes comparatively). I also think it's important that Adria becomes her ally and the supporting lead, really, ESPECIALLY after their initially combative relationship. This is not the first time that I've seen Naomi or Adria onscreen, and they're just really fabulous actresses. Adria is so funny, Naomi is this huge dramatic talent. They balanced each other out for these roles.

I found the role of "Badass Maid" (that seems official lol, according to IMDB) really compelling. It feels significant that this maid, this marginalized person native to the community who has to work for these marauding white rich guys, is really this key to the awakening.

And again, I'll say.... Kinda shocked at how good Channing was in this. I say this as someone who's seen him in MANY movies, and while I do think he has comedic talent, I definitely haven't ever seen him do this well on a dramatic level. Truly an outside the box role for him, and he was quite, quite scary.

As far as the portrayal of the violence goes... I think it's very important that a lot of it came from the perspective of the women, and while it was INCREDIBLY scary, it did not feel EXPLOITATIVE. We did not actually see a lot of it onscreen, actually. I don't think that it's impossible to portray SA onscreen in a way that isn't exploitative, and I personally have no problem with it being portrayed onscreen sensitively. I think this movie did it correctly.

Here's what I really appreciated, though. There was first the idea Slater had that if you didn't remember it, it was somehow lesser, right? Which was alluded to relating to his own trauma (briefly, and I'm glad we didn't linger on it; that was done right as well). Because that's something I think we're seeing a lot of right now. I mean, how bad could it be if you didn't remember it? Both related to the drugged assaults of people AND the idea that because you don't remember the crime well (often due to a trauma response) maaaaybe it didn't even happen, or you're exaggerating it.

Then it was the big "I'm sorry" repetition. It really seemed to call out our apology culture happening right now. These people (primarily, though not entirely, men) apologize, and if they apologize the right way, we give them another pass. But I would say... nine times out of 10? It's bullshit. Even if they don't think it's bullshit in the moment. We give them a smack on the wrist and send them on their way, and they've learned absolutely nothing other than the fact that an apology will get them where they need to go.

Really stark. Really chilling.

And the ending took it over the top to me. Because so many movies of this kind end on this catharsis. The revenge was enough and she can move on now, OR the revenge was futile and she will always be a shell of herself. This takes a third option. Revenge is not enough. And she will now exploit who exploited her. And she deserves to. The apology wasn't enough. He must be EXTERMINATED.... and ideally, she'll get something from him, too. Delicious!

Final thoughts on season 3,

Spoilers ahead but here is my rating of the season, spoiler free

7.5/10. I actually liked it a lot. A few things bothered me but overall a good season with mostly good cast development

Well Despite me thinking the kahlopatra breakup was going to be horrific, it was deserved. I actually really like Cleo AND Frida's development. And they are obviously getting bsck together. I mean cmon "i know enough people" hand hold. They're so back 😭.

And Confuscious/Joan is genuinely super sweet. Their kiss in the bus. I felt real chemistry. And joanfk fans don't stone me, but it's on par to me with Joan and JFK's moment in the og season. Speakinh of JFK, I'm enjoying his struggle with who he is. Sure it's kinda fuckin silly but him wanting more than just being a piece of ass is funny and engaging.

Now. Here are my less positives: I liked the bleacher creatures but they got zero to no development, which i can overlook since introduction season. However, I think Joan throwing them under the bus is fucked up. Like man, I get it they're outcasts but they did have your back while everyone else left you in the damn dust cmon now.

I don't like them just kinda, ignoring Topher's previous crush on Joan and him being sexist? Like, i know Topher got a grand total of like, four lines 💀 but it felt lazy.

Abe was a pain in the ass, still self centered and still only worried about getting his ween wet. Though, his friendship with JFK is nice, but it's still very. Weird. JFK did fuckup in that friend context too, but in his case he's self discovering and Abe just wants him to do what Abe wants for his own sake. I know he comes around by the end but i still dislike it, generally.

The whole Mary and Abe and Joan conflict. BOOOOOO. Listen, I am not the biggest Joan fan, I like her enough, but Joan was right. In that entire context. Also pushing Joan/Abe. BOOOOO. like seriously bro, she saved your sad pathetic life and i wish she hadn't because if you're stupid enough to know if you fuck Mary, you die, and still want it. Then just give the man what he fuckin wants.

I had a love/hate with Scudworth's backstory. I also wasn't razzed at how Joan was hated for the first half, It felt excessive i guess?

Even though I bitched, a lot. I still actually love the season. It had strong ass moments that made up for stuff that is kinda always in clone high. Like joan/abe has been like this since the dawn of time, Abe has always been an annoying bastard.

But they developed the cast. Especially Cleo and Frida. I genuinely love both their development. As well as Confucius! Harriet had a bit of a mixed bag. Also the stuff with the guys name I can't spell was fuckin stupid. But her and Joan acknowledging their faults and still being friends? I mean that's nice. It is.

So those are my thoughts on Clone High season 3. It was good. Maybe not what everyone wanted but hell I liked it.

Emm loves to whittle. She usually has one project or another in one of the bags on her belt if she's out of the house- It's good for occupying her hands and keeping her mind busy if she gets caught in a conversation she considers droll, or gets stuck waiting on something unexpectedly.

If she takes out a whittling project while she's talking to someone, then she's making a statement, and well aware of it: It's just about the politest way she can say get to the point without actually saying it, and she hopes the message will be received so that she doesn't have to say it.

Conversely, whittling in public or around other people who aren't already talking to her tends to be an invite for conversation- A kind of I'm bored broadcast, if you will. If she really wants to focus on a project and not be disturbed, she'll work on it in private, so there's no need to worry about interrupting her or being considered rude- People who have spent a lot of time around her tend to pick up on this, but to outsiders, it can make her seem closed off.

Emm is ultimately unsure if this is a memory, something she tells herself she remembers, or a memory of a dream from later in her life- But she has distinct memories of her mother's scent, warmth, and smile from the first few days of her life. They're the only things about her mother she remembers with any certainty, and even then, that certainty is muddled as mentioned. Still, she treasures these "memories", and one of her greatest fears is forgetting them.

Emm loves to bite, sometimes to her detriment. That said, there's no shortage of types of bites you might get out of her- Love bites, overwhelmed bites, killing bites if you're not lucky! I imagine she was quite the terror as a baby, but Ivar found it endearing rather than something to be corrected- While she has obviously grown out of just randomly biting people as a toddler might, she does still love to bite. It's a good release of pent up energy in the case of her being overwhelmed, a cute way of laying claim to a partner in the loving case, and in the case of biting in a fight, tends to be so shocking it buys her an extra few moments to gain the upper hand if she doesn't already have it.

🐸 . What’s this oc’s sense of humor like?

I think Emm is generally funny but also extremely bad at reading the room. She's gotten better at it as she's gotten older, but she's still prone to (often unintentionally) off-color jokes in the wrong company that sometimes aren't even read as jokes, which can undercut her funniness depending on audience.

Her conversation with Frida about finding her first kill for her comes to mind: "It's hardly as if I'll drag home some innocent lamb for us to pass around the campfire" was a joke in her mind, but it was a fucking weird one, and also just generally a weird thing to say to someone who isn't like already uniquely attuned to her grim sense of humor surrounding killing people. Ragna probably would have found it funny, as would her warriors have, but that's about it.

TLDR: She's funny, but she also hasn't quite fine-tuned her sense of when, where, and what she should joke about, because ultimately her position of power in society does mean that she can say whatever the fuck she wants. For the most part.

I see what is the issue about Spanish accents. I understand Spanish but I’m not fluent enough to distinguish accents however my friend whose mother tongue is Spanish finds it ever so amusing when Omar and Carmen have a talk in Spanish because their accents are so different. It destroys the realism of the scene, where a son presumably learned the language from the mother. Now imagine Frida throwing in a Spaniard or Argentinian accent in the same household (Frida’s Spanish is basic according to her resume and her having worked in Barcelona brings no advantage at all, people over there speak Catalan anyway)

hahah yes I mentioned this once before in an anon their accents are very different particular carmen's accent is an islander accent and that accent is very pronounced so you just have to giggle when they are speaking in entirely different accents. Also the scene where linda is telling simon about speaking to marcus mom thats when you can totally tell because her accent comes out so hard in that scene. Hahahaha its funny. Also yea frida knowing some basic spain spanish wouldn't translate well into a scene. Spain spanish is low and hard. Latam Spanish is high and singy. Omar is actually very swishy and singy. Also one of my besties lives in Barcelona and everyone knows spanish there its more like will they speak it back out of protest. I will say tho when I speak Spanish in barcelona the locals will speak it back to me. More so because they catch my accent quickly and they are like "oh you're not from around here" so I think out of politeness they dont snap at me for speaking spanish to them. Most of the time they are curious about my accent because central american accents are notorious for being very neutral and hard to place so they always ask where am I from. The difference are very apparent to native speakers.
