Now that I have slept on it, I feel like I can talk about Ming. I don't really have anything new to say that others haven't said before, but this is just me assembling my thoughts. So it is kind of long

Ming has issues. He has issues that he has never worked on and it manifests in the worst possible way, especially when he feels jealousy. He is used to throwing money at people and them complying to his wishes- he had someone prepare a separate van for him during the ad shoot, people on crew seem to comply to his wishes regardless of what it would mean for the project, he is sure that he can make the new guy act as an escort for him- so you know the usual entitled rich guy stuff but now notched up higher.

Like I said, Ming as a person hasn't changed. And the show isn't trying to have an argument against that either. Rather everything that's happened in the "after" scenes reiterates that while his affections have found a new home, there has been no personal growth. There won't be any redemption- it is what it is.

There also won't be an escalation to Ming being a full on sadist. He isn't a character from Strangers From Hell, he isn't Hannibal. There is nothing of that sort. If anything, he is just like every other abusive and overbearing partner in a relationship. Only in shows like Marry my husband, we get to see the female lead overcoming them, but here we have our protagonist get back with Ming, because something works by the end I guess. It is a standard BL and it will stick to its format and people who are enjoying this show, know all of this and watching it for what it is.

So I don't have a problem with all the "romantic" scenes. I don't think the show is deliberately trying to make you feel sorry for Ming- it is going only as far as it needs to get Joe back into accepting him. So it is more for Joe, the character than about the audience.

Now in the storyline this means that we have Ming who is very reserved around other people, talking only as far as to give an order and that's it. I don't think most characters see the worst of him and it is because he just isn't bothered about anyone outside of those he considers important. So he will be considerate and kind to May. He will give Tong the respect of a brother in law as per the culture that's common to so many Asian countries and he will be his most hateful self with Joe.

I think Ming does suspect that both these people are the same person. We have seen the preview and even this episode starts with an interrogation about the date of the accident and if Joe dreams about anyone. So in Ming's head there is something going on that's no less than a plot of an action movie. Maybe memory loss and plastic surgery...really who knows, anything except for the soul transmigration.

So we see the Ming who locked Joe up in jealousy and the Ming who would have forced himself on Joe out of jealousy. This remains the same. The only difference here is Joe, and he is done with Ming's bullshit. He is done with Ming questioning him about Tharn. He is done with Ming questioning him about working with Sol and what not. The contract Joe entered was about having sex with Ming, which is why he said " I am your dog, aren't I. Come on ask me for the paw then" So basically you bought me for sex, force yourself on me then, I can't do anything about it. But not this...he didn't sign up for this jealousy when he thinks he is once again a Tong stand in.

I will be honest. I do not empathize or sympathize with Ming. I cannot get behind the rhetoric of him being a hurt, broken boy. He drove his lover to death because of his jealousy ( he accepts this), mourns this but then does something horrible to the guy he suspects having some connection to his dead boyfriend because of jealousy.

My question is when the truth is revealed- what happens then? Because Ming wouldn't suddenly turn into a new leaf. So would they be having a conversation? Or would this be something hanging uncertainty over the relationship for eternity.

Or

Would Joe be into it, if he realizes that all of this has been for him and not Tong...

( I know, I know, no need to boo at me for the last line- I am just thinking out loud here).

Soulmates, part 1

Šime Vrsaljko x Dejan Lovren

His body was buzzing, the particles of which it was built, were moving as always. Making him change his position every 5 minutes. It's not the first time this has happened. It's driving him insane  but, he does know what happens next.

He is as closest to his soulmate as he has ever been. Everytime, Šime gets closer to his soulmate his skin starts crawling. The only possible explanation is that many, many years ago, when the universe was created, Šime's particles and his soulmate's particles were close together. When Earth was made their particles got divided.

For example, Šime's body conists half of himself and half of his unknown soulmate. Everytime they get closer, their atoms are buzzing and wanting to connect again.

When you're 24, an artist that already finished college and opened his own tattoo shop, all you really wish for is your soulmate.He needs his soulmate. Šime went throught all of this with his friends. With people that already found their partners. And now, it's only Šime that can't sit still for long because he feels like exploding in trillions of fireworks.

It started affecting his work.

He's seen his friends and their reactions. The way their eyes would turn white and mouth dry. He would get scared, why is my tiny little koala-like friend running into some guy's arms? Luka was precious that day, he will never forget it. They were in Madrid that day, because Luka works there. Šime came to visit and out of nowhere some tall guy, with a man bun called out for them. For Luka. It was so magical, but Šime could never understand how Luka kept his cool. He wasn't shaking at the airport, while he was meters away from the love of his life. Šime would turn into a puddle of anxiety.

Would you want a tattoo artist with an unsteady hand? After all, he's marking you for life that way.

So now, Šime closes his shop during the holidays. He supposes that his soulmate doesn't live in Croatia like him, they must be from a foregin country. Why all this? Because every year around the longer holidays, he gets these feelings.

He starts sweating, he is resentless, tired but also excited. Anxious. Hyper. Really, everything you could think of that fits the mood.

It could never hurt him, after all, it's about his soulmate. He knows that one day, when they actually meet, that it would be absolutely brilliant.

He hopes that that day is in near future. This is troubling him, all he wants is to be able to hold somebody or be held in one's arms. To be loved but in a romantic way.

He wants to expirience what his friends are expiriencing now. The joy of having a certain someone to call them his. He is happy for his friends, but he always feels left out when they all get together.

As you age, the effects you get from closeness of your slulmates start increasing.

One day, when Šime was ready to close down his little studio, he got a phone call. What was peculiar was that, he was called on his personal phone. It was already late at night and he wasn't expecting to meet up with his crazy friends and nobody else would call him at this hour.

When he picked up the phone, the voice he heard sent chills down his spine. It was a man's voice, he never heard it before but somehow it sounded vaguely familiar.

"Hello, I'm sorry for calling this late!" The strangely familiar voice spoke. "My friend Mario told me about your tattoo shop!"

It must be a friend of Mandžo then, Šime thought.

"Hi, yes, that's nice to hear." Šime said, trying to not sound creepy. "What can I do for you?"

"Mario told me you did his sleeve, I liked the tattoo a lot-" The sentance made Šime blush. He felt embarassed even though he was all alone.

"- so I was thinking about getting some of your work too."

"Well, sure. We can arrange that."

"I'm travelling to Croatia 6 days, and I could be in Zadar two days later. If that works?" The unknown man said over the phone.

"My schedule is quite tight, but I can squeeze you in I hope." Šime said. "What kind of a tattoo would it be?"

"I was thinking about a tattoo on my left side." Said the man. "My name is Dejan by the way."

So his name is Dejan, 'what a lovely name' Šime thought.

"Nice to meet you, we can talk about the details when you arrive." Šime said to Dejan, and wrote him down in his planer.

"I'm really glad you can do my tattoo, your work is absolutelly wonderful!" Dejan said in awe. The comment itself made Šime feel giddy inside,a feeling he never felt before.

"Oh, don't flatter me! I'm glad I can be the one to do your tattoo." Šime exclaimed loudly.

"It was nice talking to you Šime, I'll see you in 8 days." Dejan said.

"Yeah, you too."

Šime was left with a smile on his face. He was still clutching the phone in his hands and he sat down.

He really wanted to talk to this Dejan again. Luckly, he will see him in 8 days, Šime hopes that his soulmate won't arrive to Croatia before that. This tattoo has to be perfect and he won't be able to make it if his soulmate gets here before Dejan does.
