I like using Occam's Razor when I theory-craft, because often the simplest answer is the best solution.
But man does it sometimes lead to the most BORING answer known to man.
#Jacks showed me a conversation relating to Alter Ego Gonta#and for a while the comment in question had my mind reeling and coming up with tragic ideas to explain it#and then I remembered#“Oh wait. I don't think Alter Ego Gonta is aware what it means to be just an AI/is aware he's not just the original Gonta. He considers--”#“--Himself and the Real Gonta as separate entities. That means ofc he would be alarmed and concerned when this 'doppleganger' knows about--#“--Him murdering Miu.”#Anyway that answer is so much more boring tho#AU where Miu Gonta and Kokichi all saw the Secret of the Outside World Together#And came up with the murder plan#All three of them coming to the conclusion that Gonta would be the least suspected#and Kokichi would be the most suspected since everyone fucking hates him and thinks he's always up to no good#thus leaving Miu to be the victim#The idea of Miu /setting up her own murder/ is such an interesting concept and the /tragedy/ of it all is even better#and I was very much enjoying that rabbit hole before I realized “Wait. Not only are there lots of plot holes to fill with this but this--”#“--assumes AE Gonta identifies with Real Gonta as himself--which he doesn't.”#Anyway yeah the pains of Occam's Razor#Sometimes the simplest answer really is the best option#Sometimes it's the most boring option tho
