So all the talk yesterday has me rewatching LFN, and OH MY GOD THE LAYERS????????????

I have rewatched this show many many times since it debuted a million years ago, and I guess I’m just finally old enough to really look into all the nooks and crannies now because????

Ok so like…Nikita’s trapped working for this clandestined agency called Section One right? The whole world thinks she’s dead. And this other dude in the section is like “I know how we can erase ourselves from the system with a virus and we’ll be free. I know you because I was the tech assigned to watch you through all the hidden cameras Section put in your apartment also I have a creepy voyeur’s crush on you now.” Meanwhile, Nikita’s trainer-turned-handler-turned-untrustworthy love interest Michael is suddenly hanging around her i wish she’d punch him in the balls as much as i love him and even goes to her house??? And dances with/kisses her???? Nikita’s already suspicious of the whole thing but now she’s caught feels and tells the dude she’s not going to leave even though dude insists Michael’s not legit. But he goes, without her. Afterwards Michael tells Nikita about the dude who escaped, but that their backup servers weren’t touched by his virus so he’ll be caught and killed soon- as would anyone who would have gone with him. Nikita tears up realizing Michael knew the whole time and thinking dude was right and she bet on the wrong horse but also realizing she’d’ve been caught and killed like she suspected so basically everything’s fucked. Michael cooly tells her he did it only to keep her alive, and walks off. Nikita goes to her apartment and rips out every single camera she can find, goes back to Section, and dumps it out in front of both the big bosses (who can easily kill her) and Michael and tells them they can get fucked spying on her and if they don’t like it they can kill her. The Big Big boss is annoyed but agrees- no more surveilance on Nikita. She storms off. Pan over to Michael who is looking smug af— because here, ladies and gents, is the punchline: Although he had to make her cry by thinking he played her, he DID save her life, uncover a defector, and now all the cameras at her place are gone, too, with official approval. Now he can theoretically go over and see her as much as he wants and Section won’t know a fucking thing.

Guys, when this hit me, I was S C R E A M I N G omgggggggg. 😂😭🤣😭😂😭🤣😭😭😭😭😭
