three people asked for this man and i simply must deliver lmao. i’m not writing 15 headcanons for him tho, i love all of u.

1. honestly, don’t get into an imposter situation with zhongli. he’s basically memorized everything about the people closest to him, and he will immediately spot flaws in their actions, their appearances, even the way they speak.

2. like the other adepti, zhongli has his own domain. post-retirement, he’ll sometimes visit if he really needs a break ( and he’s not sleeping in the funeral parlor’s coffins /lh ), or if he wants to grab something.

3. under his gloves, zhongli’s hands feel like smooth stone. this was actually a decision he’d made when putting together his rex lapis form, and he’d gotten rather attached to it. so, there you are.

4. zhongli refuses to say "uh" or "um". whenever he says "ah", he means either "ah" or "uh" or "um". this isn’t even on purpose, i keep noticing it when i write him.

5. if a person is close enough, zhongli will allow them to see his true form. this reveal might most likely happen in his domain or somewhere remote to prevent others from seeing, but like...who would believe someone going “I SAW REX LAPIS HE’S ALIVE” after seeing the exuvia that day?

not me abt to post before doing enjou, i’m sorry honey. he’s under the cut.

1. i’ll shamelessly admit that some of his personality is kinda extracted in bits from fn/af’s fu/nti/me fr/ed/dy. specifically the version of him in “count the ways”. good sense of humor. pretty morbid. never shuts up.

2. when enjou's in human form, there are a few quirks that would make him stand out if you manage to catch them. he has no pyro vision, but he's warm like a pyro user; he has an aversion to swimming ( walking in water is fine, but he complains a bit ) and places like dragonspine even with coverings.

3. one would think he'd have a complex over being an abyssal monster, but he doesn't. he's actually kinda awkward about his human side. he feels weaker with it. like stumbling around in clothes that don't quite fit.

4. enjou grew up without many friends. so he fills the silence with chatter. when he does make a friend, he gets pretty attached pretty quickly.

5. this man would unironically say “trucies”, look me in the eye and say he wouldn’t.

24. Is your muse a top, a bottom, or a switch? Do they have a lean?

the short answer: he’s a switch!

the long answer: he tops while in lector form, bottoms while in human form. he’s not very comfortable with topping while in human form, and probably vibes a lot better with the power he has in his lector form. he can learn with the right partner, buuuut it’s most likely that this is the expected dynamic with him.

enjou: a history

( do note that enjou’s backstory does rely on my kaeya’s portrayal by default; however, for other kaeyas, i’m willing to tailor-make things and use lakshmi as a regular pyro abyssal lector rather than the queen of khaenri’ah. with that said, let’s begin. )

born as a human within the abyss, enjou was part of a family that held a heavy inazuman bloodline ---- but the blood of the abyss ran deep in him as well, suiting him perfectly to become a lector. it helped that he enjoyed exploring the dark corners of the abyss, the nooks and crannies of the world.

of course, he had one problem: he never shut up. and that didn’t typically earn you friends as a child, resulting in him being alone quite often. to him, that was rather fine, as he often filled the air with his own chatter.

the day came when he was brought into the ruined castle and told that he would be betrothed to marry the princess. at the time, he didn’t think too much of it, obviously excited to even meet the oft-spoken princess...only for her to take one look at him, squirm out of her mother’s hold, and begin running.

and then it turned out that kaeya had run too far, and stared up at the sun ---- resulting in the princess’s eye being tainted with the curse that plagued their people. while enjou didn’t know what had happened next, he had wondered even afterwards what had caused the princess to run away from him like that.

but he wouldn’t know, as several weeks later, it was said that the princess had disappeared. naturally, that didn’t help with his hurt and confused mindset.

kaeya’s mother, lakshmi, pitied enjou and took him under her wing. she encouraged his pursuits and steered him gently to the field of translation, and allowed him to become an exegete -- an abyssal lector, one of pyro. with that, he was given work in various locations, the most recent of which would be khaenri’ah.

after maturing, he realized that he didn’t really want to be married off at that age either, and had shrugged it off. he didn’t blame the princess then, and certainly didn’t blame her either. the fact that said princess was a knight in mondstadt would surprise him, naturally.
