#Repost @anastasiyaswebb with @get_repost ・・・ This is my hero and if it was not for him I would not be here today. This is my grandfather, Arkadiy Mikhailovich Smetanin (1924-2009). On the left is him during WWII on the Eastern Front, circa 1942. On the right is him in the late 1990's My grandfather fought in war from age 17. He was a lieutenant and was launching rockets from Katyusha (a Russian rocket launcher.) My grandfather was in Prague when the war ended 5-9-1945. After the war, he married my grandmother Klara and they had three children, the youngest of the three being my dad. My grandfather is and always will be my hero. Это мой герой, дедушка Аркадий Михайлович Сиетанин, (1924-2009). С лева, где то 1942 год на фронте. С права 1990 г. Дедушка воевал с 17 лет..он был лейтенантом и его рота оперировали Катюшами. Дедушка закончил войну а Праге. После войны он женился но моей бабушке, Кларе и у них было трое детей, младший из которых мой папа. Дедушка Аркадий всегда будет мой герой, и я хочу приехать из США что бы участвовать с его фотографией в бессмертном полку.
