Examine: a furby!

a small , wide , o w l i s h creature with pink fur. when bringing it closer to your face , the closed eyelids fly open to show blue orbs . you weren’t scared by such an action , more so confused as to how any parent on this earth would even consider getting this for their child . well … you DID retrieve this from WILFORD’S chest of all things , so the almost uncanny valley creepiness of the toy didn’t surprise you too much . you knew vaguely that it was an american toy , and this only made the creepiness of it far more bewildering when you considered how f r a g i l e americans could be when confronting horror .

you originally thought it was a japanese toy .

the colorless looked to the observer , simply raising a brow before a wide grin s p l i t over his features . perhaps , he was a creature that LIKED to test it’s boundaries . leaning F O R W A R D at hip , the entity speaks in a sing-songy voice to the other .

h i m . god . dark , curly , s o f t hair . insane eyes that hold a gentle nature to them when directed at you . a twisted mustache that barely covers l u s h , pink lips . you notice the small things when concerning rose . he always took the time to do the same , and when he did it made you feel light and soft . right now he is rambling on about something or other , you’ve stopped paying attention because you’re far too fixated on how his hands and body practically bounce when he’s excited about something . he’s endearing .

dark wasn’t supposed to answer that question . answering that question meant his upmost DEMISE . the only and easiest way to get rid of him , to send him back to his h o m e l a n d . hands come to straighten his suit , calculated eyes following marzia . why did it interest her in the first place ?

“ nothing scares ME . i scare OTHERS . ” edgy , but kept his fears secret and his answer brief .

how long could he play this role before everything came crumblingdown ? his hands shook gently from the energy he had been expelling in making his appearance that of mark as to not f r i g h t e n the woman before him . he knew she had some sort of relation to the youtuber , and it would be in his best interest to keep himself on the down low so that CRETIN didn’t find him . dark gives the human a soft laughter , mimicking mark’s to a t , and shakes his head .

“ nah , i’m alright ! i think my blood sugar is just low is all ! ” how long can you keep on the mask , dark ?

dark furrowed his brow hard at this mark , trying to fight back any instinct that told him to be a COMPLETE ASSHOLE without reason . he clears his throat , giving a small s h a k e of his head . “ n-no , mark . i am … quite fine with not receiving any hugs today . thank you for the offer though . ”

dark looked to at the other as if he was a mirror . dull , eyes void of light . not that he wasn’t i n t r i g u e d by this dark’s presence , he just always felt tired and defeated when met face to face with one . they reminded him too much of how broken and lost he was in the past . those words only emphasize these feelings , brow giving a slight tilt in concern .

“ as we all are , my friend . d r i f t i n g , mind and body in two different places , exploring our own adventures . life is a bizarre creature . ”

he hums , tapping his against his forearm for a couple of moments before nodding . “ painting . people , especially . i rarely get anyone who is willing to sit patiently besides some of my fellow dokkaebi , but … seeing as we all look alike , it is rather b o r i n g to paint them . i like people of different backgrounds , different faces , names . it’s interesting to see if i can perfect their likeness . ”

it wasn’t in dark’s nature to get PISSED off to the point of yelling when confronted with a rather inconsolable creature. but anti proved to be an expert at pressing all of the dokkaebi’s buttons and angering him to immeasurable levels . yet , he couldn’t help but care for such an a g g r a v a t i n g creature . broken things interested him , he felt he needed to FIX them . so , when met with a less than accepting attitude towards dark’s words , the monster’s face twisted from calm into angered annoyance . his brows raised wickedly , lines w a r p i n g uncomfortably around his body ,  the echo in his voice multiplying two-fold .

“ why can’t you get it through your impossibly thick skull that not every one in this goddamned world is out to EAT you ? why can you not get it that there are creatures and humans alike that genuinely want to AID you , to help you ? why must you be so S  E L F I S H in the way you deal with your burdens ? w h o on this earth taught you how to deal with your own trauma in such a DEPLORABLE manner ? ! ”

it was just a nightmare.

dark didn’t generally fall asleep in the company of others . but he hadn’t really “ fallen asleep ” , truthfully . more so passed out while waiting for poppy to sleep first . he’d forgotten he was no more than a few feet from her , so when hands touched his tense , fear filled body , his instinct was to g r a s p at the wrists and go on the offensive . it was a good thing he’d o p e n e d his eyes , otherwise poppy would have been on the floor . instead , black eyes went wide in realization and he quietly let go of her wrists , stumbling to get out an apology . dark grabbed her wrists again , but this time with an almost feather touch . he murmured a ’ sorry ’ before completely retracting his shaky hands so they could run through his loose hair . at her words , he shook his head , flinching as the images ran through his mind .

“ no , ” he spoke , eyes cast to the floor , “ it was a memory … ”

dark didn’t enjoy getting mad around sin . he wasn’t quite sure WHY. perhaps it was because he thought that this creature only deserved to see the best of him . never exposed to the parts of himself that he was a s h a m e d of . his rage was one of those things . his short-temper that always hindered and never helped . the dokkaebi didn’t think that sin should have to deal with him in such an inconsolable state . the monster almost looks upset with himself for getting angry , l e a n i n g against the other , nuzzling into that hand . he’s not at peace , but he certainly isn’t enraged anymore .

“ yes , it is .  …  i’m sorry , sin . ”

discomfort r a d i a t e d from his form , sitting patiently with his hands resting in his lap . his shoulders are tense and his eyes are looking to the f l o o r rather than to the person before him . poppy meant well . dark just wasn’t good at this sort of thing . taking a deep breath , his shoulders relax and he finally makes eye contact , almost looking ashamed . such a bizarre appearance for a menacing creature such as the dokkaebi .

“ there’s a lot … more than what can be contained in one day . are you prepared for that ? ”
