thanks for the job, but he just couldn't work himself up into doing something ? remember that time she acquitted all of his crimes and gave him a royal station in the palace ? well now he didn't want to do that and nothing was working right and he felt trapped and uninspired so thanks for literally saving his life, but actually he's just an ungrateful little brat who doesn't want to do the one job that he's begged for since the day he was born-

it was ironic for him to be commenting on another's appearance in that moment. he'd yet to look down at himself but if he did he would see that he didn't exactly look normal himself.

his body and limbs looked liquid, bright blue and watery with bubbles in them, like one of his chemical compounds. his joints were connected with gears that clicked and moved. it was as if his entire body was turned into a glass sculpture of himself, filled with some kind of liquid chemical, and joined together with spare parts from his lab.

he felt bad, being away for so long. he'd told her that he was going to be on a journey, something for himself, but he never expected it to pull him so far away from home.

now here he was, proverbial hat in hand, hoping that things would work out for the best.

adventuring wasn't what he thought it would be. sure there was freedom, he was exploring the world outside of corona. but there was also homesickness. a sense of loneliness that came along with it.

maybe it was good to think about himself for a bit. he didn't have to work, he didn't have to focus on anyone else. he could do and build whatever he wanted to. and at the end of the road, he'd find his mother.

or at least, he'd finally know what happened to her.

but he couldn't deny the relief he felt when he came up upon another person, a young woman near the kingdom who could hopefully show him some place to get a map at the very least.

maybe his father was right about getting more sleep. maybe there was something to that whole 'eight hours a night' thing that he'd previously ignored. he always thought that he was better than that.

that was before a tiny little purple man popped up in front of him and began talking to him, using his name, telling him that he was some kind of mystical being.

he was way too tired for this.
