||: Another interesting idea you could with doppelgangers could also be the existential horror implication of consuming a copy in general. I feel like I might have to go into a giant rambling about existential ideas and concepts so I will put that under a read more to make things not so dirty on the dash.

||: Now, a lot of how we kind of view copies of others is a little strange. See, the idea of doppelganger kind of makes you assume the idea of a prime version of a person, let’s say Glup Shitto Prime for our example. Glup Shitto Prime gets consumed by Glup Shitto Copy thus Glup Shitto Copy gains the knowledge of Glup Shitto Prime and takes his place.

||: However, looking at it under a more clinical eye, you come to see that Glup Shitto Copy can’t really be a perfect of Glup Shitto Prime since that version would not have the impulses to consume themselves as well as take a place of being that it already inhabits. Thus, Glup Shitto Copy has to be different in a significant way to be willing to consume and replace Glup Shitto Prime.  This change of thinking can be seen as significant considering that the process of copying is not absolutely perfect to facilitate the directives for Glup Shitto Copy.

||: This all comes to a head when Glup Shitto Prime is consumed by Glup Shitto Copy. Considering that the process takes not only the biomass of Glup Shitto Prime but also their memories and experiences an interesting conundrum occurs. Would this process not also in some manner kill Glup Shitto Copy?

||: Consider: Glup Shitto Copy can not be itself since it has acquired the memory and traits of Glup Shitto Prime, meaning that it has a shared memory and experience with Glup Shitto Prime. But, by this metric, Glup Shitto Copy could never truly be a faithful copy of Glup Shitto Prime since it has consumed Glup Shitto Prime and has (in the past) harbored this need to do so. Now, with the understanding why Glup Shitto Prime would not try to consume themselves, it would then not be able to consider neither itself Glup Shitto Prime nor Glup Shitto Copy since if it were still in some way try to consume Prime but now understand why it shouldn’t consume Prime at the same time.

||: The question would be: Could this be Glup Shitto Copy still? Did Glup Shitto Copy kill itself in trying to be Glup Shitto prime. If it did so, does that mean that it could never be Prime or Copy after wards? Does this imply that this is a new version of Glup Shitto? Can I stop saying Glup Shitto? The world may never know…

Concept: A doppelganger kills and consumes its victim, taking their memories, identity, and everything else. Just as it’s about to escape, the victim’s family or friends show up. No choice but to blend in, they pretend.

At first, it’s just survival. Mimic the habits, the speech, the little things. But it keeps escalating. The longer it plays the role, the more it forgets what it really is. It barely even feels hunger anymore - there’s plenty of food, plenty of emotions to feed on. It is the person now.

But in the back of its mind, something lingers. A whisper. A truth it can’t shake. This isn’t its life.

But does that even matter?
