Hi there! If you're here, then I linked you to this big ass wall of text cuz I wanted to explain my OCs to you. If you just randomly found this, cool! Feel free to read. (Sorry I don't know how to add read more)
Okay, first an introduction to the setting: imagine a huge city, hidden from the rest of the world,
a vast amount of people from all over the planet, either brought here by curiosity or lured by the idea of a better life, are stuck in a giant struggle to survive under the harsh control of the Cavalanti mafia, a crime family so powerful they now control the government.
Fed up and sick of the lives they have to live, a large handful of this city's population have ganged up to form revolutionary gangs dedicated to taking the Cavalantis down and ruling the city.
This, is New Corritan. The Hidden City.
Our story revolves around one such gang of revolutionaries, a group of odd and strange individuals that started as nothing more than a weird group of friends.
These people are known...
as the HYSTMEN GANG
The story of how these high school pals became a deadly gang started with the story of the faceless pyromaniac, one whose original name was never known, only ever going by the name of his most prominent feature....
Helmet.
Helmet didn't live a life one would call fancy, but it was perfect to him. He lived with his mom, dad, and older brother in New Corritan's suburban district, his mother and father worked on cars for a living, and his brother was the star of his school's beatball (a New Corritan sport) team, all while Helmet rode around on his bike delivering papers.
But nobody lives a peaceful life in New Corritan.
One day, both mother and father came home from work beaten badly, barely able to stand. They told a story of how a Cavalanti gangster came in to have his car repaired on short notice.
Now, the parents were good mechanics, but finding the replacement parts for such a fancy car was above their pay grade, and there ain't a lot they could do about bullet holes either.
So the mobster did what any Cavalanti does to those that don't listen. Unspeakable things were done to each parent, while the other watched.
Enraged beyond belief, Helmet's once tender hearted brother turned to violence.
After tracking the nightclub the mobster owned, the brother and Helmet himself went out to seek an apology...in blood.
A rage never felt before surged through the two brothers that night.
Heads were bashed with borrowed tools, bullets were fired, people were killed, hell. Even money was stolen.
But in the end, the brothers got what they came for.
That night, Helmet's brother helped find a good hiding spot for the money and laid his parents and little brother to rest.
But Helmet woke up early that night...to the smell of smoke.
Fire engulfed the house, screams could be heard, but there was nothing he could do except instinctively put his helmet on. Nowhere to go...except out the window.
Helmet crashed onto the grass and watched his entire life turn to ashes. His family turn into fading screams. His thoughts turn to....where the sound of laughter was coming from.
He saw them, men in Cavalanti colors. Chucking molotovs and laughing...he recognized one of them. He recognized his hair, his beat up bloody suit, but most of all...
He recognized his shitty, beat-up car.
Rage took the wheel.
He didn't care that his only weapon was a welding torch.
He didn't care it was a 3 v 1.
He didn't care what would happen.
He didn't care how he was gonna kill them
He didn't care how painful it was going to be.
After all, that man didn't care either.
By the time Helmet had control of his senses, there were three smoldering, melting bodies at his feet. One still screaming.
The house was just ash now. Same with whatever was left. But before he heard sirens in the distance, Helmet had something he wanted to do.
Still squirming and begging for death, the man who started it all was laid against his front door, along with his colleagues. Using the rest of what the mobsters brought to burn the house and a camera that the jackass brought, he set them aflame and took a picture.
...
It was told that Helmet still roams the city now, mercilessly killing any group of Cavalanti gangsters he finds, burning down their establishments and taking pictures of their charred corpses.
That was, until someone decided to make him part of their plan, a plan that Helmet was immediately sold on.
Now, he prowls the city in search, not for enemies...
But for old friends.

Revised RNM Textual AnalysisÂ
Historically, LGBTQ+ characters in television can simply never win. They are either hyper-sexualized, vilified, or eliminated all together. These harmful representations, and lack thereof, create a negative self-image for viewers hoping to identify with characters that share their own sexuality. However, the CW show, Roswell, New Mexico takes on a different perspective in depicting characters of multiple sexualities and integrates their internal journeys into the overall plot.
While Roswell, New Mexico effectively portrays the varying process of exploring sexuality, as well as the spectrum that it exists on, they often succumb to the harmful stereotypes that plague the LGBTQ+ community. This emphasizes how other media sources still have a long way to go in terms of including accurate and meaningful representations of sexuality in order to identify with the entirety of their audience.
In terms of the positive aspects of sexuality in Roswell, New Mexico, they include characters that are still in the process of discovering their sexuality. There is often a misconception that once someone âcomes outâ they are completely comfortable with being gay, while this is most often not the case. Through the lens of multiple characters, we are able to see the processes of discovery, acceptance, and self-confidence in sexuality.
First, there is Alex, who while is is out as gay and his community is well aware of the fact, he is still not completely comfortable with demonstrating his sexuality in public. For example, when Forrest tries to kiss Alex in public and he rejects him, Alex later reveals, âI still have my dadâs voice in my head telling me that being seen with a man in public is an embarrassmentâ (Say It Ain't So). Even 10 years after Alexâs dad found out he is gay, he still fears a sense of shame and therefore is not yet comfortable openly expressing himself. In Alexâs character, the show emphasizes the long journey to acceptance that members of the LGBTQ+ community often go through.
On the other hand, Forrest is clearly comfortable with being gay as well as showing others in public. It is evident that there is not one âwayâ of being gay and Rosewell effectively portrays these different experiences.
Another character that Roswell depicts in newly discovering sexuality is Isobel. Although she was previously married to a man and believed that she was heterosexual, she has recently begun to explore an attraction to women. This storyline âassimilates gay and lesbian identity into the mainstreamâ through normalizing the continuous sexual exploration, regardless of age or previous relationships (Monaghan).
Unlike Alex and Forrest, Isobel is newly discovering aspects of her sexuality. It is interesting to watch each of the characterâs journey with sexuality, because they each offer a different perspective, instead of the carbon-copy gay storyline that is commonly repeated in media.
Although Roswellâs portrayal of sexual discovery in its characters are a positive step in the right direction, it still complies to the negative stereotypes often associated with LGBTQ+ characters. This is especially true in the depiction of Michael, the showâs only bisexual character, with the exception to possibly Isobel. Michael is involved in two serious relationships in the show so far, with Alex and Maria. While having a bisexual male main character who openly states âIâm bisexualâ, is a revolutionary step in the portrayal of bisexual characters, Michael is also seen as hyper-sexualized and deceitful at times (Champagne Supernova).
A critique can be made that Michaelâs character mainly serves to contribute to the âstereotypical love-triangleâ where he is made to be the âdeceitful loverâ (Alexander). His love triangle with Alex and Maria is criticized for making him have to âchooseâ between being straight and gay. This is harmful in that it discredits the reality of bisexuality, because it is not merely a constant distinction of straight v. gay.
Additionally, Michael is initially highlighted as the provocative and troubled character. He is seen sleeping with numerous women that he finds at the bar and he repeatedly steals items from his workplace. In this case, Rosewell fails to depict bisexuals as a part of ârespected mainstream normalcyâ by emphasizing a stereotypical view of bisexuals as overly sexual and untrustworthy (Monaghan). Since Michael is the showâs only bisexual character initially, this misconstrued view serves as a generalization for all bisexual.
Therefore, it is essential that Roswell and other producers of media evaluate the consequences of these stereotypes and how they represent the LGBTQ+ population. Nevertheless, this does not undermine the positive representation that the show has of non-heterosexual relationships and their continuous development.

He was still celebrating their victory ( how many times had they saved each other now ?? he lost count ) ; a job well done. To think they only almost died approximately ten times this mission, thatâs a new record. However, shortly after, her echoing words stopped any && all train of thought.            A smile creeps to his lips, warm eyes meeting her gaze as he rises to stand. âYâknow, I wouldnât mind celebratinâ all our victories that way ... Leia.â A light tease, cheeks still flushed. A pause, his hand reaches out for her own, digits lacing between hers ; skin as  s o f t  as he imagined it to be. âYou did good too yâknow.â Han mutters, gaze steady on their locked hands. âWe know Iâd be LONG GONE if it wasnât for you savinâ my skin.â An airy chuckle, he finally steals a glance at her.Â
