New L7 single, just release today, first one in 18 years. Good to see them still kicking. “L7 have released their first single of the 21st century—and it might be rock’s funniest Trump takedown yet. Titled “Dispatch From Mar-a-Lago,” the track is a three-minute burst of black comedy and crunchy guitars that finds the L.A. proto-grunge pioneers sounding every bit as loud, hard, and fearless as they did in their early-’90s prime. The song imagines the president tweeting as his notorious Florida resort gets trashed, with singer and guitarist Donita Sparks deadpanning, “S.O.S. from the golden throne/‘Mogul’s’ in deep shit, he’s all alone/It’s not good, a riot in fact/The whole friggin’ country club is under attack.” (Source)
