Whenever she looked at him, her eyes would be filled with scorn - and whenever she felt his lips on hers, she couldn’t help but feel disgust. Disgust over him, over herself, over this whole sorry excuse of ‘soulmates’. With each passing day the bitter taste in her mouth became worse and with yet another kiss, she felt how she just wanted to end this all. How her mind circled around the thought, of just trying to end him.

How was a person meant to stay sane, when life had taken such sharp turn? When being married to a man, who’s eyes were so full of insanity?

Miran blinked, before she mentally shook her head. One day she would be able to free Dazai and Chuuya from where Fyodor kept them prisoned and make sure, they would take Strelitzia and Juan with them into freedom. Until then, she had to be strong. No matter how difficulty this all was - especially with being unable to lie to her husband.

It was nearly like one of the usual days. Miran sat close to the the cage Chuuya was trapped in since what felt like months. Somehow she had squeezed a glass between the bars, pouring in currently some eggnog into it - the last bottle to be exact - and only turning around to her husband, after she had done so.

The heiress, drunk as she was, didn’t even think of giving him a normal answer. He has eyes after all, so he could see himself where it currently was - in the best hands it could be.

“ So might go back to whatever work you did. We are very busy here with eggnog-kun and got no time to deal with people like you. “

New years kiss - no longer accepting!

Another year was survived. Another year, in which she just wished day in, day out she could selfishly run away. Just take a step out of the door of her hotel and go somewhere else. Far away, from this all.

...far away, from the man she was married to.

Miran blinked at the feeling of tears running down her cheeks. Hadn’t she even realized that the kiss had happened, from her mind just being so far, far away from reality. Her arms were wrapped around the toddler she carried in her arms, but Juan seemed unfazed from the loud noise and the fireworks for some reasons. Perhaps he was just too sleepy from trying to stay awake the whole time.

This all felt wrong.

“ I need a moment for myself... “, Miran mumbled quietly, before she hurried back into her room. Leaving behind the bright fire flowers that enlightened the night sky. Usually they brought her joy - but even that had changed since such a long time already.
