         “Crush? Is this some nonsensical Earthling term for an attraction?” Cooler couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, wondering why this planet had to twist the common tongue with such ridiculous meanings. He scoffed, but otherwise assessed the question with dry amusement and a cool glance of inquisitiveness towards the taunting woman. “My, my, you’re quite invested in this, aren’t you? How often have you been speculating if your dear friend and I have something developing between us?”

         Often enough, from what he had gathered. He almost pitied the violet-haired Earthling for all the grief she had been put through for her supposed interest in him, if there wasn’t but a touch of vindictive, malignant glee upon seeing her emotional distress as her companions made their accusations. His obsidian lips curved into a devious smirk, half of his alabaster brow lifting upwards as he brought a hand under his chin in faux pondering.

          “Perhaps there is something there, after all,” the Arcosian admitted slyly, a low chuckle rumbling from his throat. “It is quite possible that my deep loathing of her defiance might have beget an admiration for her as well. Certainly, I do feel the conflict between enacting my vengeance or observing her from afar…”

         Though he could very well have it both ways; she clearly despised the rumors about the two of them, while Cooler could not find it in himself to feel any sort of disgust for them. He wasn’t exactly deceptive in his previous statement, either. Lila did catch his genuine interest, for better or for worse. However, that did not mean he was willing to let bygones be bygones. He did want her to suffer for his earlier humiliation…

         But then, who said it had to be by his own hands? Her faithful friends were doing his bidding just fine, as far as he was concerned. Let the flames continued to be fanned. Eventually, she would burn out from it all.

         “I will consider what steps I wish to take with her in my own time. She might pretend that there is nothing there, but I’ve seen how she looks at me,” he mused, before shooting the warrior another sly look. “Do take care, Gerudo. Your words have been quite encouraging... I may be tempted to just snatch her up one of these day.”

At first: "he's good on the inside", later: "uh... he might be evil but consider this; I love him" And then Minji having to kill him, that just seems so fitting to me. He killed someone he loved, and he was killed by someone that loved him in turn. Poor Minji though. Do you think you'll include the alternate ending, or any other type of after story? Or just leave it with Saeran sending bottles out to sea?

Minji and the others would never know that the one they killed was Saeyoung… because he takes the punishment in Saeran’s stead, and pretends to be him till the very end. He would do anything for his brother, even if that meant killing the one he loved and then taking the fall for him. That’s the thing, the servant knows that their sibling is a tyrant but they also know they have some good in them in their hearts… even if it was only extended so little. 

You may be evil, but I am your twin, and if you are evil, then I am evil too. 

Hm, I hardly ever make things a bad ending. I never had it in my heart to make it worse for the characters unless that’s just the mood. It’s possible that somebody could be able to stop Saeran from destroying the Kingdom of Green, but that would be the only way to keep the brothers from meeting a tragic end such as the original tale. That may be the only way to achieve a happy ending. 

Saeran’s wrath has no mercy whatsoever, and if the princess that he so wishes to hold at his side is for a moment, if for a moment on the arm of another man, he’ll have nothing but rage in his heart. Perhaps the only way for him to not do such a thing is if Lila could repair his heart… but even that seems fickle, doesn’t it?

I doubt even Saeyoung could get through to him. It may have to be her and her alone. It may not be enough to mend what he believes. So, he may very well end up regretting his actions with a solemn wish at sea lest he listen to the shred of light in his life.
