ahh I love this!! 💖 could I please ask about:
all’s fair in love and viscera…
AND 👀
rode hard (and put away wet)
hi jess! of course you can lovely 💞
all's fair in love and viscera is a play on all's fair in love and war, which is a saying that was originally derived from a novel written by english playwright John Lyle in 1597 titled Euphues: The Anatomy of Wit :)
the original line reads, “The rules of fair play do not apply in love and war.”
it's actually one of the few fics i chose a title for after i had finished writing! all i knew is that i wanted to write a mutant that had blood bending abilities, and went from there.
rode hard and put away wet is ALSO a super common saying i stole and "changed it" by adding parentheses lol
it's an expression used among people that ride horses a lot, and my uncle was a professional cowboy (yes he actually was...that's a real thing cause the rodeo is NOT taken lightly in texas lmao) for years when i was younger so that's where i first heard it! it basically means that you took your horse out and didn't give it the proper care before taking it back to the stable.
this is the title of the sex pollen logan fic i've been working on! it thought i sounded fun and dirty and that's literally the only reason i chose it lols
another sneak peek because i can't stop myself :)))
He lets out another growl, his hand moving from your wrist to your forearm, fingers digging in like he’s trying to ground himself but failing miserably. “I can’t—” he grits out through clenched teeth, his breath hot and heavy against your skin. His grip tightens, just enough to send a sharp pulse of pain through your arm. “It’s too much. You need to go. Now.” You know you should back off, heed the warning in his eyes, the command in his voice, but something deeper, primal, holds you in place. His scent is getting stronger, thicker, more intoxicating, and it’s starting to affect you too. Every fiber of your being wants to lean into it, to touch him, to give in. The pull of his blood is almost too much, the air between you crackling like live wire. You can feel the tug of it deep within your own body, the drug’s influence bleeding into your connection. It's like a magnet, pulling at you with an almost unavoidable force. You swallow hard, but instead of pulling away, you inch closer. "Logan," you whisper, voice trembling just slightly, but it’s not from fear.
kisses!

For the WIP game, No Other shade of blue but you, please!
oh my, i completely forgot the wip game ahahah sorry for the wait, here you go:
i started working on this THREE YEARS AGO???? it's not even THAT long, but i always forget it exists for like 6 months before writing another 1000 words and then forgetting it again.
the premise is basically: steve & tony had a Thing™ during that period when pepper & tony had broken up, but then civil war happened and yeah. pepper & tony get back together, get married, have morgan, endgame happens as usual BUT: instead of tony, pepper dies. which is. . . cruel, i know, but hey, she was canonically part of the final battle so in theory she could've been the one to get the stones & do the snap lol. anyways, then it's just a lot of depressed tony taking care of morgan and refusing to accept help, until he caves in and calls up steve one day and yeah, then they have their very very slow getting back together arc, while they're raising morgan. there're gonna be a lot of shenanigans with other characters bc tony's slowly letting other people back in his life, so it's actually just gonna be a shit ton of avengers family feels. i also have a fully planned out winterhawk spin-off to this fic lol. idk if i'll ever finish writing it tho, i have about 15k and most of it was originally written in german. i DID translate it and i wrote some of the later stuff in english, but i'm still SUPER unhappy with it. i love my german writing SO MUCH, but it tends to lose its flow when i translate it :/
here's a small excerpt, the grammar might suck as well, my english skills were even poorer back then than they are now lmao
Steve ignored his words and pulled out a burner phone instead, placing it on the counter next to Tony. Only one number was registered in it. Tony paused momentarily and regarded the phone with an unreadable look before swallowing hard and turning back to his plate. "Haven't we been through this already, Cap?" He said quietly as if his voice would fail him if he spoke louder. The movements of his hand holding the sponge became increasingly erratic, and Steve couldn't stand it anymore. Without thinking much, he put one hand on Tony's arm in an attempt to soothe him and stop his movements before using his other hand to carefully pull the plate from his clenched fingers and place it on the towel next to the sink. This time, Tony didn't even try to free himself from Steve's grip. "Maybe you're gonna use it this time," Steve responded and pushed the phone a little closer to Tony with his free hand. Tony looked up from the phone to meet Steve's eyes, a sad smile on his lips. "Well, I'm sorry, but I don't think you and I were on such good terms the first time," he said, even more quiet than earlier. Brown eyes that stirred so much more in Steve than he would ever admit stared into his, and for a moment, it felt like 2016 all over again. Like the time when Pepper and Tony had broken up due to personal reasons, the time when Steve had spent his days in Tony's building and his nights in Tony's bed, wasting time on kisses and sex and late-night promises. Like that brief, dreamlike period when everything had been okay for a few months. The calm before the storm that the Sokovia accords brought to their lives and their relationship. Then Tony looked away, and the moment shattered. Steve found himself back in the present, where Tony and Pepper were no longer together because Pepper was simply no longer there, where the peaceful intimacy existed only in memory, and where the events in Leipzig and Siberia and the months without contact that followed continued to stand between them like an impassable wall. Steve didn't regret siding with Bucky at the time. He didn't regret wanting to protect his best friend, who had returned after seventy years, he’d do it again without thinking twice. But he regretted the naturalness with which he had thrown away Tony and all they had in the months before. He regretted more than anything not giving a rational thought to find a compromise that would allow him to keep them both in his life.

Fic Writer Interview
I've been tagged by @boethiahspillowbook and @elfinismsarts to do this fic writers questionnaire! Tagging @wildhexe @katastronoot @v1ctory-or-sovngarde @thana-topsy and anyone else who wants to do this.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
3
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
104,195
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Well I only have 3, so…
Dragon Dance, my smut collection (big surprise that this is #1)
2. Into Ash
3. Ascent from the Ashes
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I do get overwhelmed if I get more than one at a time and I’m also a humongous procrastinator, so I do have a stack of comments I need to reply to at the moment. I’ll get to em eventually :p
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Uhm. Uhhhhh. Hard to say considering I’ve only written the three fics, but Ascent has an angsty ending in store. But that’s FAR down the road, I’m hardly a quarter of the way thru it.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
My smut oneshots LOL. For real though, Into Ash has a fairly happy ending.
7. Do you write crossovers?
No and I have zero interest in doing so.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, just my oc/Teldryn filth lmao
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Can I be biased and say Telwren? I’m going to.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I started a oneshot about my dragonborn’s eventual death and the events following shortly after, but I haven’t touched it in ages and likely never will again.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Setting descriptions, I guess?
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I think I fall short on pacing, though I’ve been told otherwise. Fight scenes are also a huge struggle for me, as well as portraying extreme emotions.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I only know English, so any other languages in dialogue would be a word here and there, such as Dovahzul or a few Dunmeris words that I’ve used in my fic. If I decide a character is going to do some speaking in a different language, I would simply mention it in the dialogue tags and just write the dialogue in English, as to avoid having to translate. Especially for fictional languages where we don’t have a reliable translation tool.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Skyrim lol I’m new to this
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Honestly I think after I’m finished with my Skyrim fic, I won’t do any more fandom writing but will venture off to original stories. If I HAD to choose another fandom to write for, it would probably be like, a oneshot for Pokemon or something
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Ascent from the Ashes is my pride and joy and I’m still working on it :)

20 questions for fic writers
thanks @dogearedheart for the tag :D
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
3! I'm a baby writer (but I do have a few more in my wip folder that I never got around to publishing yet)
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
6.427 🐛
3. what fandoms do you write for?
supernatural! it's the only show that scratches my brain the right way, and the only one I feel confident enough to write about. but in the future who knows :^)
4. top five fics by kudos
well adhsj
5. do you respond to comments?
always and forever when I get any
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
uuh probably my Jo fic, Fil Rose, although to me it's more on the bitter-sweet side
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
... none of them :| I tend to favor sad/angsty themes when it comes to writing, and I'm hardly ever interested in finding a resolution, I just like to explore the situations and the characters
But if I have to choose one, I think my latest dean-centric fic Harvest Moon ends on a more positive note – not exactly happy but at least peaceful (or that's how I read it anyway)
8. do you get hate on fics?
i've got like 2 comments per fic thank god they're not hate lmao
9. do you write smut?
I have some smut in my drafts for fics I've never written/never finished. I don't mind the idea of writing sex, I'm just not very confident about it being any good :')
10. craziest crossover?
there's one only crossover in my mind that I desperately want to write about and that is a supernatural/x-files au
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
nope!
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
nope!
14. all-time favorite ship?
well I don't have much experience with writing ships if I'm being honest! but I love rarepairs and I'm also working on a dean/cas short fic and then there's my infamous dean/lee fic gathering dust in a folder on my pc and a dean/cassie one that's just waiting to be published. so I'd say anything with Dean in it 😬
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
many such cases... my dean/lee fic first and foremost, but there's also this fic that I started writing some months ago about pre-s4 Cas traveling back in time, and I'd love to keep working on it, but the direction it's taking feels kinda intimidating (very introspective, very philosophical, etc)
16. what are your writing strengths?
uuuhhh I'm not sure? I've been told that I do a pretty decent job of getting into the characters' heads, for example. If you ask me, I think I'm kinda good at finding rhythm in my sentences, and I do love to play with structure and length and pacing and all that stuff!
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
I feel like I have many. Like, I wish I were better at choosing more interesting words and sentences and imagery. I also think that sometimes I get too lost inside the character's head and forget about describing things - like emotions, places, actions, situations, etc. But to be honest a good portion of my problems would disappear if I were a native english speaker adsadj
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I've never done it, probably never will, but if it makes sense for the story then why not
19. favorite fic you've written?
It has to be Harvest Moon, for sure. Very self-indulgent of me, but I've loved writing that fic sososo much: it has young!Dean, pre-series family dynamics, religious imagery, a non-linear narrative that allowed me to explore many different themes and situations. Plus the little game I played using the prompts as first and last words of each paragraph was genuinely so challenging and fun! From a stylistic point of view, though, the one I'm most proud about it's the dean/cassie one, which I swear I'll publish someday sfdfsd

tag game - 20 questions for fic writers
YAAAY thank you for the tag @dogearedheart i love talking about my own stuff 💕
i'm unlocking some secret fanfic facts about myself that only two people know about!!
.
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
17 i can't believe it.... only 6 on my spn pseud which is my main one at this point
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
107 433 😳
3. what fandoms do you write for?
i only write for spn rn. the 11 other ao3 fics are from my vld era, and they keep getting kudos it means so much to me.... tho it's not my best works lmao i'm glad it still resonates with some people especially bc i wrote them for trans & autistic teenagers and like, you go ily
now, here's the secret facts: before ao3 and writing fics in english, i wrote many things in french. my main fandoms were Yuri!!! on Ice (i was in the french trenches!!) and Notre-Dame de Paris (the book & musical)
4. top five fics by kudos
i'm done taking the vld fics into account, so it's only spn stats:
You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect
It's new - the shape of your body
The Way Home
amidst ashes and feathers
here come the fallen, here come the failed ones
5. do you respond to comments?
i can't really say i do 😔 i TRY to, and sometimes i DO!! i used to reply to some on ff.net and i loved discussing with readers & other writers, but it's very time consuming and i already don't get much writing time anymore
so i take a while especially to longer comments bc i wanna give it justice? idk. i already struggle a lot with responding to my besties' texts so yeh ao3 comments aren't my priority unfortunately. they do mean everything to me and i screenshot them and read them and reread them and read them again like 😭😭
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmmm i think it's my unfinished french Yuri!!! on Ice fic lmao. the ending is still in the drafts but it's very bittersweet bc the main relationship doesn't like, fall in love together and all. i play with that trope of "i'm not gonna fall in love!! *does anyway*" with an aro character and they will not, in fact, fall in love.
but the other character will with someone else and so it's this change of relationship that can get pretty heartbreaking still, bc something is still ending. well, more like evolving into smth else but a huge part of what they've shared is kinda lost and it's sad (<- fic written by a situationship survivor)
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
amidsts ashes and feathers TO ME!!! The Way Home's pretty happy as well but blablabla they kiss romance whatever, it's an easy answer.
now my Mary's fic is about finding community and she starts to collect every part of herself to be herself and she finally feels welcome somewhere 💕 pretty open ending and it's not much about reconnecting with dean & sam it's about taking steps yipeee
8. do you get hate on fics? i haven't gotten any so far!
not a big enough fanfic writer for this
9. do you write smut?
i've never done it in english.... YET 😏 if/when i drop my bela x meg you'll see. things happen!
i can't really say i've done it in french either tbh bc i never went super explicit but i did write many kinky scenes at this point so it's like. very sensual at least.
10. craziest crossover?
i don't do crossovers
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
not by someone else, but i've translated a few of my own things from french to english!
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes!! i wrote a three-chapter thingy with @littlehaize that i think we deleted bc it was 10 years ago LMAO. it was very fun to do!
14. all-time favorite ship?
well...... no one will ever be destiel. however it's a fanfic ask and i do not write them much, so my fondness goes for sapphic ships and ships that are not canon. always been a rarepair girlie (gn)
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
oh for sure my dean & sam portraits. i had actually started a kind of sequel to You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect, that was like, "From the same soil we've grown and yet he doesn't know"
GOOD stuff in there, but it was back in 2021. since then my spn takes have changed so even if i took it back up i'd have to rewrite it from scratch + i'm not super interested in it anymore. i started this at a specific time in my life, and now i'm onto new things, different issues, same themes but different takes!
16. what are your writing strengths?
poetic prose!! it's about creating emotions and imageries.... lots of my fics are character studies for a reason, i just like exploring ideas and that's what i've been doing for the longest time
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
worldbuiling LMAO. do NOT look too closely into my fics' timeline and chronology, i try my best but there's also a point where i stop trying. sometimes everything is vague bc it says smth with the story and/or bc it goes with the genre, but also bc it's vague in my own head
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
i did that!! i think sometimes it's a better choice depending what the story is saying, like slipping some foreign language than one character speak and not the other to say smth (show what a character is still too afraid to say / it's hot / etc). in The Way Home i tried to insert actual ASL in some dialogues, and it felt important both for the disabled rights and bc like, bilingual life sometimes you have the right word in one language and not the other (and again, it says smth)
sometimes it's not quite relevant to actually write it down in the language, just mentioning what it is is enough. different choices for different contexts and stories 🤷♂️
19. favorite fic you've written?
The Way Home 💖 i love amidst ashes and feathers so much i have to mention it as well. but ultimately i have a fondness for longer stories bc i have very few of them!! The Way Home is a first in that regard, longest finished work of mine. i spent 3 years with this story and it's gonna be forever with me just like the city i left behind when i posted the last chapter :) it means a lot on a personal level

10, 18, 63 of this ask game!!! 😏🧡
Yayy hello my love! Thank you for sending in hehee sorry I'm a yapper...
10. Cltr+f "blinks" on your WIP & copy paste the first sentence/paragraph that comes up
At first I was like: oh shit I actually don't have a WIP that has text in it? (my writing process is Something Else) unless I wanted to say that Queen of the Clan is one massive WIP but posting stuff from already published chapters is no fun. But then I remembered I had something started for fem!ghoap and although no one blinks there (yet), have the closest thing here lmao
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
Most often (like with all my Love Is Illegal Celebration fics for example) it's after I finish writing, sometimes (especially if it's a big and/or multi-part one) it comes in the process. I think I only has started with a title a few times and that was because my mind came up with a beautiful phrase/good pun that unraveled into a story later.
I like naming stuff after I finish it, because it allows me to know the vibe and the details of the story - since my favourite thing to do is take a rather small detail and make a title out of it (for example, in "Flutter Into The Sky" reader is compared to a butterfly maybe once or twice, but that's the image I used to title the whole thing). My art/writing is very much about finding little images, unusual combinations, it might be less evident in my English writing, but when I write in my native language I am constantly seeking some unconventional comparisons and such, so putting them into the title is the thing for me.
But I also like puns (sorry but I'll never understand why people consider puns dumb/unfunny/stupid sort of humor, it's actually quite hard to come up with a good and original pun), hense every chapter in my hyena au (which is about spotted hyenas specifically) is named with an idiom that contains the word "spot" in it. I literally just have a list of the idioms opened and since I know what the chapter will contain, I just seek something that more or less relates to the content (like oh they'll be having lunch in that chapter - here's "a spot of lunch"). What will I do once I run out of the idioms? No idea, but I dread the day.
And finally, song lyrics/titles. It's actually something I only started doing here, on tumblr (actually, wrong, I just remembered that my biggest fic of all times is called Hoist the colours). Between the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" with Karlach x Soap coming to me in literal vision (a pun, see?) and me trying to promote some oldschool songs by naming my celebration challanges after them (cuz you know, when I celebrated 30 subs, I used a song with the number 30 in it, and so with a hundred...), I just thought I'd stick to using songs for this. So at first I wanted to name evey Love Is Illegal fic after a song with the number 100 in it, but that turned out to be too complicated, so I just started taking songs that had lyrics and/or vibes more or less suited for the stories. And of course most of the time the song needs to pass the test of "does it feel nice to read the fic while listening to it on repeat".
63. Something you hate to see in smut.
There's actually not much I hate to see in smut. Most of the time it's just things I'm not into (like, I honestly don't get dacryphilia, so if it's the main point of the fic, I'll probably just stop reading it), so I simply close it and move on. And most of the kinks I'm not into I can still read and sometimes even enjoy if written well, so there's really not much that can make me feel actual hate. When I'm reading smut in my native language, there's a big problem with uhhh words they use to avoid saying "cock" and, even worse, "pussy". I think English writers can have this problem too, but I'll be honest, the things I sometimes see in smut are like... top cringe ever. And the thing is, I can't even really blame them, because somehow writing "pussy" and "clit" and other words that are totally okay and sexy in English smut, makes for the most cringe-inducing Russian smut. They just don't match the vibe, "pussy" is kinda very much cringe, "cunt" is actually very vulgur so it's suited only for a specific style of writing/scene, "vulva" is like the one I always end up using but it's quite awkward and feels too official/medical, and "vagina" and "clit/clitoris" sound too out of place and almost medical. Of course there are ways to avoid the cringe and to write amazing smut, and I bet the reason why all the words naming fem genitalis feel so "dirty" "unsexy" and "degrading" is some deep rooted mysoginy, but it's honestly mental gymnastics every time. So while I get the struggle of people decribing "little warm caves of love" and "jade wands", maybe just don't, buddy, maybe just write "and then they FUCKED".
So yeah. If I hate anything in smut, it's when it's written real bad, all the other things make me upset, but not hateful. Like, I actually struggle when there's no love to feel between characters. And I also somehow tend to feel whether or not the author was putting in that love, I can't explain it, but I actually had this confirmed several times, so yeah, no love = no happy Juju. But not just in smut, any work without love just feels wrong and upsetting to me. But in smut it is especially important if there's degradation and such involved, cuz sorry, but I can only survive being/seeing a fave character being called a cumwhore, a cocksleeve and a useles slut if it's VERY EVIDENT that they don't actually mean it. Otherwise okay bye Imma go jump off a cliff.
I don't know how I manage to combine some unhinged fantasies and kinks with this need for love to be at core of literally everything, but I actually have seen other people so it so beautifully, so I know I'm not alone and it is possible to be a freak and a romantic.
P.S. Decided to add that I actually think that vulva is a very sexy word, but unfortunately I have only written for some very brute masculine barbarian at heart women so they would never actually use this word organically. They're more inclined to call their genitals "cunt" but since they all were fucking other women and afab people that they were deeply in love with, they couldn't call their loved ones' parts this rude word either. Smut is a struggle comrades.

Charlie Eppes x Fem!Reader - Chapter 2 - 1 Year Later
A/n: More angst just not through the entire chapter!
Listen- once I write too much fluff I have to prove that I can write angst too. THIS WILL HAVE FLUFF TOO I PROMISE!
Today I came to the realization VERY FAR INTO WRITING THIS CHAPTER that at CalSci THERE IS NO ENGLISH CLASS because it's an INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE and being an archivist would’ve made more sense, perhaps with the reader residing in the library, and now I must decide to either go back and edit the shit out of this or simply ✨ignore✨ this realization. I will post with just what I’ve written out so far and see what y’all think. Then, upon hearing your opinions I’ll decide what to do next.
The lesson learned is I need to do more research before making writing choices lmao.
Also, the reader in this fanfic has a fear of intimacy like me. 🤭 so slay!
You woke up to your alarm at 5:30 AM. Early enough to prepare your lesson plan for your English Literature class. You assigned the reading of One Hundred Years of Solitude and arranged to host a socratic seminar with the class to discuss important elements in the novel. Soon after, you’d have them write an essay on it highlighting what it taught them about the importance of their friends and family. You had already prepared everything you needed for your Creative Writing lecture, so this was the last of your work for the time being. You sat at your desk for about an hour until you finally had everything you needed for your class.
You packed yourself a lunch, got yourself together, made sure you had your keys, your phone, and your wallet. You put your lunch in a cooled lunch box, made sure you had all necessary items in your purse, and then, with all your things together, you walked out to your car. You put your bags in the passenger seat, stuck your key in the ignition, and then drove to the CalSci campus.
You arrived at your office fairly early, put your lunch in you mini fridge, and almost immediately started writing out the date and lesson plans for each class on the blackboard. Once that was finished, your stomach rumbled and you realized that you’d forgotten to eat breakfast. Your first class didn’t start for a few more hours, so you knew you had more than enough time to run down to the dining hall and grab a bite to eat.
Charlie sat in the cafeteria with a club sandwich, gazing around at the bright fluorescent lights that tended to overwhelm him, and you as well. He saw you as you reached the food bar and began serving yourself a slice of breakfast pizza and some caesar salad with a coke. It felt a little forbidden because you felt like pizza was a dinner food, but it was right there and you had to have it. Pizza is enjoyable at any hour of the day. Charlie grinned, and when you turned around he waved you over to his booth. You smiled back and began making your way over there. As you walked, a few students waved and said hi, and you returned the gesture, and eventually you made it to your seat across from Charlie, setting your plate on the table in front of you. “Good morning, Charlie.” You smiled at the familiar face.
“Good morning, Y/n.” He returned. “What brings you here so early?”
“Overcompensation for the amount of work I thought I had to do. I guess now I have the time to eat at my leisure and triple check my lesson plans.” You spoke optimistically with a brief chuckle. “What brings you here early?”
He laughed, “Well, I think I did something similar. Though, before my alarm had a chance to blare loudly in my ear, I found myself waking up early with my mind already full of ideas. I wanted to add on to my already prepared plan some more specific and important details. Now I’m starting to realize those details are probably only important to me.” His laughter shifted to a more nervous tone as it trickled out into silence.
“Nonsense, anyone taking your class knows they signed up for the most thoughtful mathematics professor on campus. They have to have expected, and must welcome any extra information you’ve decided to add into your lessons. If they wanted less than that, they should've joined another class. You’re the best in your field, don’t hesitate to represent that to them.” You spoke in between bites, still careful not to talk with your mouth full.
He couldn’t help but light up again at your encouraging sentiment. “Thank you, I needed that.” He spoke softly. You didn’t respond, you just nodded, and then you both finished your food thinking quietly to yourselves. Once you were finished, the two of you got up to toss your leftover trash and you turned to him. “You got anymore time on your hands?” You questioned, and he grinned.
“Would you like to take a walk?” He suggested, as if he was reading your mind.
“You know it.”
The two of you snuck around parts of the campus like a couple of delinquents, even though you were just professors terrified of interacting with your students outside of the classroom more than you already had that morning. Charlie knew the premises well, so he’d already calculated and memorized the best route to take in his head. “So, what about you? How are your classes going?” Charlie inquired as you walked by his side.
“Oh they’re going great! In my English Lit class my students have had many interesting things to say about 100 Years of Solitude so far. Their individual takes on the material is very intriguing. Then, in my Creative Writing class, I see so many students I can tell will one day become famous writers. I love nurturing their young minds and seeing them rise to their full potential.” You rambled on for a moment before just smiling softly, and Charlie did the same. He knew he tended to be the talkative one in your friendship, but when it came to you he loved to listen. You were a compassionate person that he deeply admired. To you, he was a brilliant man that you enjoyed learning from. Throughout your school years, you always hated your math classes until he explained the material. He brought light to it’s essence in the universe. You got him to enjoy his English classes by doing the same with that subject.
“I like seeing you. I feel like we don’t get enough moments like this because we work on opposite sides of the campus, and you don’t live next door anymore.” The young professor commented gently.
“I guess there has been a lot of lost time between us. We’ll make up for it though, I’m sure of that. I can visit more, maybe we’ll work on future lesson plans together?” You suggested, glancing over at him before focusing on the path ahead.
“I’d like that.” He agreed.
The first time you’d parted for a long period, you were thirteen. He had gotten far ahead of you in school, so he graduated early and got into Princeton. For the next three years you communicated through letters. You could’ve called, but you preferred to write him so you could annoy him by occasionally correcting his grammar and spelling. Technically, you could’ve skipped grades, graduated early, and gone to Princeton with him, your grades were just about as good as his, but you never wanted to graduate early. You didn’t even want to skip a grade. Besides, even if that was something you wanted, your parents couldn’t afford it. Still, you refused to let Charlie stay in middle school. He had a once in a lifetime opportunity, and you made sure he took it.
Over the three years Charlie was away, you missed a lot of major changes in each other’s lives. You got into your first relationship, which ended up leaving you scarred and afraid to try to date anyone new. You got in with the wrong crowd, who used you and made you feel horrible about yourself. In your junior year of high school, you decided to focus on your academic life and iced out everyone from school that had known you by going into running start. The only bit of socializing you accepted at that point was still talking to Charlie through your letters. You read all his published articles and you were absolutely fascinated by everything he had to say, even if you only understood half of it.
Charlie came back taller than you, which wasn’t surprising but it was a little frustrating. You used to make fun of him for being shorter, and now you were reaping what you’d sewn. His grammar wasn’t any better though, so you still had that. He’d also traded out his glasses for contacts, which you grieved dramatically. You loved how dorky he looked with his glasses. He seemed much more confident. You no longer recognized him as the awkward little boy who felt like his mind was too big for any room he entered, he now felt like he had an established his place in the world. You were so glad he finally found a community of likeminded individuals.
When he came back, Charlie noticed you had changed too. He saw that you seemed somber and more reserved. He remembered you once being an open book, you were bright and full of ideas just like him. He had his chance to expand his mind, but you had been shut down by your peers time and again. He knew there was something you weren’t telling him, but anytime he tried to ask if you were okay, you just shrugged and put on a brave face. Even if you refused to tell him what happened while he was away, he was still determined to remind you of the brilliant person you’d always been. He’d carry on to always wonder what exactly he’d missed, but he didn’t continue to ask.
He helped you through your running start classes, and before you knew it he was attending your graduation.
“I wish I’d gotten to attend your graduation.” You’d whispered to him later that day.
“Don’t worry. My mom took pictures!” He’d smiled.
Then you both went to his house and looked through said pictures. Margaret had taken a plethora of those, so it really did feel like you’d been there.
You and Charlie walked around campus talking more about your students, he began talking about one student that used a certain mathematical formula in an instant where he really shouldn’t have, and you once again had no idea what he was talking about, but you knew where the punchline was, so you laughed. Eventually you found yourselves staring closely at the flower buds on a nearby tree. Charlie of course dived into how, thanks to mathematics, he could predict an estimate of how long it would be until each bud bloomed into a flower.
You pointed to one specific bud that stood out from the rest, “What about this one? How long do you estimate it’ll take to bloom?” You questioned, and he leaned in close to look at the bud. The close proximity made you take a step back, and he noticed but didn’t say anything. Before he left for Princeton, you had no problem being close to him in any sense of the word. You hugged, tackled, and cuddled him constantly, you told him everything you thought and felt. Then, when he came back you would walk beside him, but you never even so much as hugged him, and you only told him surface level information about your life. That continued until his mom passed, and then, unless it was emotionally necessary, you went back to keeping him at arm’s length. He’d gotten used to that at this point.
“This one shouldn’t take more than two weeks.” He observed after a moment of what you assumed was internal calculations.
“Then we’ll come back here in two weeks.” You spoke decidedly.
He smirked and chuckled, turning his head to look at you as he did, “Do you doubt my estimate?” He responded as he returned to standing upright.
You shook your head, “I know better than that. I just want to see your prediction come true. Besides, I love to see flowers bloom. It’s been a long Winter, I want to revel in Spring’s arrival with you.”
He smiled softly, “That sounds like a good idea.” He agreed.

Thank you for the tag @krispyt <33
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
I have 7 under my name and 1 anon, although I'm just going to put it back under my name I think.
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
147,865
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly for TBHK, but I have a couple for Genshin as well! However writing for TBHK is more comfortable for me
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Red String of fate (1,159)
Clean Slate (357) ((This is the fic under anon but I'm going to change it probably lol))
I love you, please don't go (204)
Under the Red Crescent Moon, I Could Hear the Demons Whispering (195)
Kindness from the Devil (185)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I used to, but honestly I'm terrible at it now. I don't go on my account very often anymore and I don't receive emails when I get comments (personal choice), so it can be a long time before I see if anyone's left anything. But I do always try to get back to them!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I love you, please don't go wins this I think.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhhh, I'm not really sure? But I'm going to go with chapter 20 of Red String of Fate. After so many near kisses throughout the fic, having HanaNene finally get their kiss makes this the happiest ending... Probably idk XD
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, thank goodness.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Welllllll, I've tried to write smut. But I just don't have the knack for it, I can't handle the cringe while writing it and I can't read it back.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No and I never will. Nothing personal but I hate crossovers.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
My fics aren't good enough to steal lmao
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I'm open to it!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
HanaNene, HanaNene, HanaNene!!
If the day ever comes where no one supports HanaNene, it's because I've died. I will never not love those 2.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't even have a proper name for this WIP, it's called Possession AU in my documents. It was a KouNene fic, but you could also see it as HanaNene although they are not end game :// It's a real shame, the fic almost has 8,000 words to it, but I just have no motivation to continue.
I also have another WIP called Boundary Bound Nene-chan, but I only got a few paragraphs in and never touched it again :// The concept was pretty cool as well, Nene wakes up inside a mysterious place (later discovered to be a boundary) with no memories. She meets a boy named Tsukasa, who informs her she's dead, and together they try to find a way out. This was leaning very heavily into Yandere Hanako, which is usually right up my alley, but yeah again no motivation.
Last one I'll share is a Scaramouche fic, the temporary title was 5 times Scaramouche failed to be human and 1 time he didn’t. It's self-explanatory I think, but I started it before his backstory cutscene was revealed, and I lost confidence and motivation since what I was writing didn't match it at all. This one will 100% never be finished sadly.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm, it's hard to say. I think I have good ideas and concepts, and I can keep the flow of the story moving at a decent pace. I also think I do well with character interaction? Maybe? Idk.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions. I am so so so bad at describing things, I think I find it hard to actually put myself into the scene, so I struggle to really get into the details of the environment and such. My paragraphs usually are on the smaller side, which I hate because I really want to immerse my readers.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
English is the only language I know and I do not trust Google Translate ^^;
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically speaking, it's Sonic The Hedgehog lmao, I wrote fics for that fandom in my very early teens on Fanfiction.net. No, I will never reveal my account or share what I wrote, I will actually die before I do that.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Hmm... Since the vamp au is unfinished, I will say it's chapter 21 of Red String of Fate. It is the only fic I have ever written and actively decided to go back and willingly read multiple times without dying of cringe... I just like it I suppose aha
Once again, thanks for the tag Krispy!! I'm not really sure who to tag, but I'll go for @milkteamoon @insipidenvy and @wingsonghalo. Obviously no pressure!! And anyone who reads this is free to join in ^_^

20 questions for writers tag game!
tagged by @widebrimmedhatsblog (thank you so much!!)
Total number of AO3 works
Six
Total AO3 word count
150,968
Fandoms I’ve written in
Empyrean, Harry Potter and One direction
Top 5 fics by kudos
we never knew peace; here at your doorway; the ghost scar; when the flames burned green the dragons danced; between me and louis (this fic is a fever dream I do not remember it lmao)
Do I respond to comments?
I always do !! or at least i try my best. I absolutely love receiving comments it's my motivation to keep sharing my writing tbh the least I can do is answer my readers !! i reread the comments an obscene amount of times so yeah I always answer
What has the angstiest ending?
when the flames burned green the dragons danced. i mean it is inspired by blood & cheese of hotd so obviously its very very angsty and sad and just tragic.
What has the happiest ending?
idk about happy fics, since i haven't finished my big fics but maybe here at your doorway has the happiest ending.
Have I received hate?
Yes both in HP fandom and in the Empyrean (although I have to say this fandom is much more chill) and it's awful lmao. stopped me from writing for a few months and it was just so ??? because it's always hate about how I handle my characters and my plot and just ... omg go write your own fic then ?? But yeah if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it
Do I write smut? And what kind?
I have written smut but most of it isn't published lmao. I write all kinds of smut like idk what u mean by that lmao. kinky, soft like idk
Do I write crossovers?
I haven't written any !!
Have I ever had a fic stolen?
Nope! and thank god for that
Have I ever had a fic translated?
Nope! My fics are not worthy of a translation lmao
Have I ever co written a fic?
Yes I have !! but tbh we were both on the verge of sleep when we did it it was like 3am and I remember almost nothing of the process except it was so much fun.
What is my all time favorite ship?
According to Ao3 its Daemyra and Riorgail but i will always have a very special place in my heart for both hinny and jily. like those are my first loves fr and what got me into fanfiction
A WIP I’ll never finish?
I have a few thousand words of a riorgail canon divergence au where violet figures out venin are real after reading the note from her dad and confronts xaden about it. i started writing it before iron flame came out but at this point I don't think I'll ever finish it lmao.
Writing strengths?
I get a lot of comments saying I write trauma responses really well (what does that say about me lmao) and also characterizations which is baffling bc I've always thought that was one of my weaknesses so I'm really happy.
Writing weaknesses?
I really struggle with writing dialogue i overthink it too much sometimes trying really hard to not sound cringy, Sally Rooney has helped a lot with that btw !! and I would also say I sometimes forget what I wrote in previous chapters so it can be hard to follow along some plots I introduced. I think I have the same problem as GRRM I want to create so many storylines and lore that I sometimes lose myself and idk what to do with so much information but oh well
Do I like foreign language dialogue?
I do! Especially when i speak the language the character is speaking lmao. but one thing that annoys me is pronunciations, like for example hangrid and fleur like omg just write it in English or make her speak french !! but other than that I do love it. i don't think I'll ever write it tho
First fandom I wrote for?
One direction (i was 15 guys and deep into the larry lore)
Favorite fic I’ve written?
We never knew peace definitely. That's my baby, i work so hard on it and I think it's coming together much better than I expected. My writing has improved a lot and I think that fic is the prime example of that. I also really like what I've done with both violet and xaden in there.
I'd like to tag: @creative-girl; (and i feel like every other writer i know has done this already so yeah if u haven't feel free to)

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Let’s get this baby started! Thanks for the inspo @gracelesslady23!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
60 (blame my HP and AoUAD obsession lmao).
2. What is your total AO3 word count?
471,017. That’s…insane.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment, mostly for All of Us Are Dead. But of course, I can’t forget the whopping majority of HP fics I have! They really defined the beginning of my fanfic-writing journey.
4. Top 5 fics by kudos?
The Filthy Half-Blood Spy (777)
A Meaningful Sacrifice (490)
Albus Potter and the Journey Through Time (481)
The Bravest Man I Ever Knew (277)
My Old Friend, Minerva (267)
As you can see, I really love HP. The second one is AoUAD.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Of course I do! I appreciate everyone who takes the time to leave them.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh, I’ll take a quiet life for sure. It’s a canon divergence of A Meaningful Sacrifice, and hoooo boy, that’s probably the single most saddest thing I have ever written in my life. (Never again, Glow. Never again.)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Pretty much all of them have happy endings, so if I were to pick a few, then they would probably be The Bravest Man I Ever Knew, A Miracle in the Midst of September, and Come Back to Me.
The second fic is Downton Abbey while the third is AoUAD.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really, but when I was writing A Meaningful Sacrifice, I got a lot of spam.
9. Do you write smut?
Not explicitly, no. There was one fic I posted (that I since deleted) which features non-graphic smut between Snape and Lupin. (I deleted it because it was too embarrassing to keep on my profile.)
10. Do you write crossovers?
I have one, Finding My Way Back to You (Again)! It’s a crossover where Oh Joonyeong of AoUAD is a doctor in the 20th Century Girl universe who helps Poong Woonho overcome amnesia sustained in a plane crash.
Other than that, I prefer writing AUs where I put characters from one show into another show’s universe. My Duty After School AU with AoUAD characters, Reluctant Duty, is a great example of this.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully, I have not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yup! Albus Potter and the Journey Through Time in Portuguese on Wattpad (which is unfinished, unfortunately).
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
I have! Of Apologies and Food Fights: A Glimpse Into the Afterlife was an awesome collab with the amazing @glitterfairy-21225!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Oh Joonyeong/Jang Woojin, for sure. Since February 2022, these boys have been living in my head rent-free. Honorable mentions include Lee Cheongsan/Nam Onjo, Yang Daesu/Seo Hyoryung, and Lee Junho/Woo Youngwoo. The first four ships are from AoUAD, and the fifth is from Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
Probably Albus Potter and the Journey Through Time, even though it won’t take much longer to finish it. Every time I go back to it, I immediately feel discouraged from writing it because it suddenly seems like too big of an undertaking. However, I will never stop trying!
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, descriptions, and AU ideas (God knows how many are floating around in my head right now 😭).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Having too many ideas. I swear, if I could just commit to finishing one project, then I would have way more completed fics.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
It would be all fine and dandy if it uses the Roman alphabet (think French, Spanish, German), but if it was a language like Korean or Chinese, then I’d rather write the transliteration since my writing would be targeted towards English readers/speakers. But obviously, I’d try my best to write other cultures authentically.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Though they’re all deleted, I first wrote for Detroit: Become Human. That was what got me into fanfic in the first place because I reasoned that, since the game had 99+ endings, fanfiction was fair game (I really hated fanfic at the time).
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
A Meaningful Sacrifice, hands down. That was probably my single best piece of writing in terms of characterization, setting, worldbuilding, and cohesiveness with the original show. Additionally, I ended up creating two very important OCs which had significant influence in the main character’s life.
Writing that fic inspired a whole lore which is present in my other AoUAD fics like Washed Down the Drain, Us, Withering Under the Sun, and Reluctant Duty. I also gained an awesome friend from it in @glitterfairy-21225, so yeah. One of my best fanfic-writing experiences to date.
On that final note, here’s your tag to do this, @glitterfairy-21225! <3

twenty questions for fic writers 🫡
thanks for the tag @syoddeye!
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
50
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
699,806
3. what fandoms do you write for?
oh god, ongoing or previous too?? uhm currently batfam, star wars, cod, st - but i’ve had a few extra that i used to write for too
4. top five fics by kudos
i’m not linking them all bc some are,,,, far from my best work. also can u tell i love a long lyric title?
if you can’t give me all, give me nothing ; memorise the way you make me feel ; the way you move like you do ; i’m addicted to the way i feel when i think of you ; took the words right out of my mouth
5. do you respond to comments?
literally every single one,, before getting this account back a few months ago it was the only way i interacted w people in the fandoms so 🤷♀️ sometimes it might take a week tho but i try to be quick
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i don’t tend to do angst endings? like even in darker angsty fics i usually twist it so it’s like dubcon happy at the end 🥴🥴 sooo maybe either no grave can hold my body down or can i steal a kiss or two? or even choices made in anger
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
liiiiiterally any other fic i’ve ever written lmao
8. do you get hate on fics?
not often? BUT i usually do fluff fics and when i started dabbling in darker stuff that’s when i got more hate - specifically on one fic in particular
9. do you write smut?
yeah! not all the time but maybe 65%
10. craziest crossover:
i dont really do crossovers but my last mando fic was inspired by justified if that counts?
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of,, again im not very online to be able to know :/
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yeah! just one but now i dont do it,, learning curve for me
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
almost when i was first starting out writing 6 years back but it fell through - katy if ur still out there i hope ur enjoying life <3
14. all time favorite ship?
ffffuckkkkkk i don’t think i can choose bc i dip in and out so often but i do tend to always come back to jaytim? they’re my for lifers i think but soap x reader is a close second atm
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i’ll always finish my wips bc i can’t stand to see them unfinished,, but it’s been like three years since i first said i was going to write my sci-fi dystopian jaytim fic and im still not past the first paragraph :/
16. what are your writing strengths?
i think i’m good at dialogue and catching accents and nailing personalities pretty quick,,
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
i’m so fucking slow. if nothing else, watching people write for cod on here has shown me how quick everyone else seems to be able to write :’)
and also with longer fics i’ve gotten into the (bad) habit of leaving out like integral details that i assume the reader will just know bc ive been too in my own head about it all and ive forgotten what i’ve established already; leads to decisions looking like they’ve come out of nowhere or random personality changes
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
i’ve attempted it but i have to google translate it so i try to keep it to a minimum and ask for correction in the comments. sometimes i do it italicised but written in english so readers can understand that it’s meant to be another language but dont have to skip to the bottom notes or another tab to understand what’s being said
19. first fandom you wrote in?
teen wolf 🥴
20. favorite fic you've written?
idk if i’ve got a favourite,, in hindsight a lot of the ones i think about most fondly are the ones that absolutely killed me off when writing so i’ve got real rose tinted glasses about them all. however these are few that should get honourable mentions just because i like them and they didn’t pop up earlier
whew this was long i think i yapped ontoo much lmao but it was so fun!!
no pressure tags: @glossysoap @mikichko @kyletogaz @femalefemur @sentientcave @gemmahale @madstronaut and anyone else who wants to give it a go!!
#loved doing this thanks for tagging me sy!!!#very interesting looking back at some of my older fics and old fandoms 🫣🥲 like some of my concepts were p cool like what was i on a few#years ago?? i was bashing out so many fics at one point lmao#like one a month??? who is she??#tag game

A03 Questions Tag Game
I got tagged by @coffincrows
I tag: @theroyalspiderart and well, anyone who wants to do this (my mind has drawn a blank)
1 – How many works do you have on AO3?
Okay, so, I actually have two ao3 accounts. One I don't use anymore and one I do currently. So I'm gonna count both of them
In total, it's at least 41. (14 on my current account, 24 on the old one, and there's 3 fics I've written that have since been orphaned that I remember having written)
2 – What's your total AO3 word count?
Roughly 150,549, but that's only from the unorphaned works, so it's gonna be a few thousand more, probably more like 152-155k
3 – What fandoms do you write for?
Currently just cotl, but I've written for a bunch of fandoms over the years, like mcyt, tgcf, mha, and a couple other fandoms, although those are the ones I've posted to ao3. Wattpad, where I started tho? Lot more lmao
4 – What are your top five fics by kudos?
I plead the fifth
5 – Do you respond to comments?
Yes!! I try to respond to every single comment I get, I appreciate and love my commenters so much <3
6 – What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't remember the name of it, but it was a fic from my old account. I typically don't do angsty endings, so it's rare for me to do
7 – What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Pretty much all of them aldhsha except a few with more ambiguous endings (sorry I'm being so vague)
8 – Do you get hate on fics?
Not that I've seen, no.
9 – Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've written smut like. 4-5 times in my life (default poses in asexual), and only 2 of them are published to ao3. I have NO CLUE what "kind" of smut it is, but people on both works have described it as "tender" so ig that'll work
10 – Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I do nawt like crossovers much, so I don't write them. Closest I do is aus based off or set in another media's universe, but there's no character meetups
11 – Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I hope not! I have no clue tho
12 – Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! My biggest fic on my old account has been translated a least once or twice (with my permission)
13 – Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not on ao3, no, but I'd like to try it again one day
14 – What's your all-time favorite ship?
Hmmmmmmm. Idk actually, my favorites shift with time. Currently it's narilamb, but it was ineffable husbands a few months ago. We'll see how it changes again in the future
15 – What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Got a couple wips for good omens and mtp but idk if I'll ever finish them, they be sitting
16 – What are your writing strengths?
I've been told my characterizations have been a strong point while reading, but I wouldn't count that as a WRITING strength. I think, to me, my writing strength is setting up an environment
17 – What are your writing weaknesses?
Pacing and endings. I struggle with them every single time.
18 – Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it! I wish wish I knew more than English so I'd be comfy doing it myself (bc relying on online translators doesn't seem like a good idea slshs)
19 – First fandom you wrote for?
On ao3? I think mha?? Not sure I must have started posting ao3 fics over 5 years ago at this point (first fandom I wrote for period? Creepypasta fandom, on quotev.)
20 – Favorite fic you've written?
As of rn, maybe "of Harvest, of Celebration, and of Rest". I was so proud of it when I finished, and I love it :]

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
[sighs] yes, on occasion, but i haven't written any for my current hyperfixation yet (gallavich) but i kinda wanna put some in my bb fic so we'll see if that happens
it also doesn't help that it takes me nine million years to write smut because every time i do i blush like a fucking virgin for literally no reason
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yeah, a few times
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
i've never co-written a fic before, but i've definitely co-plotted many a fic
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
idk u guys i usually say joshdonna from the west wing, but gallavich game them a run for their money this year tbh like i'm down so bad it might actually be them now
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
probably a place in my heart will always be hers solely because i never came up with an actual ending for it so even if by some chance i update it eventually, i doubt i'll ever really finish it
15. What are your writing strengths?
dialogue and characterization (i think?)
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
pacing and consistency
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
if you can speak/read/write other languages then i say go for it, but me personally i only speak english so you will not see me attempting other languages in a fic bc i know i will butcher it and nobody wants that
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
marvel? like a decade ago? probably clintnat or stevebucky and i orphaned all of them
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
ooo good question, idk i've toyed with the idea of writing feysand (acotar) fics before and even started a couple after my last re-read, but i've never fully pulled the trigger on it. maybe someday i will
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written
what we stay alive for
tagging anyone who wants to play, this was really fun

tag someone you want to get to know better
tagged by @woobifiedvillain a few days ago and finally remembered to do it!!
Favorite color: Yellow, but not an overwhelming yellow, like that soft warm yellow? I love it. People tend to not expect this answer, I think I give off more of a blue or grey vibe. Honestly a pretty grey/silver is probably my second favorite color, but a buttery yellow is just so good for the soul.
Last song: You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi. Danced to it in the kitchen, got consumed by the guitar riffs, nearly knocked a chair over. Before this morning it would've been the Genshin OST... I've been listening to it a lot while I write or do chores recently.
Last movie: An exceedingly mediocre romcom on Netflix that I watched with my sick mom to be nice. Genuinely couldn't tell you the title or more than like, two or three plot points. Last movie that I watched bc I wanted to was the Barbie movie, which was genuinely better than I expected. Enjoyable but would still give it, like, a mixed review. I'm not getting into two months' ago Barbie Movie Discourse on this post
Currently watching: I'M STILL TRYING TO FINISH THE UNTAMED!!!! woobifiedvillain i'm speaking directly to you and quoting you: i too am "chronically incapable of paying attention to visual media, even the good shit" and when i try to explain this to people irl they act like i am insane!!! I haven't watched Good Omens season 2 yet even tho I am reblogging posts about it rn. I think it's mostly adhd, or really just a part of the larger Neurodivergence Soup (tm) that makes it nearly impossible for me to learn something from a YouTube video. I mean, sometimes for a hands-on task a video is essential, but can't there be a written list of instructions to go with it too, bc that sticks in my mind way better sobs... ANYWAY i'm currently on episode 43 of The Untamed, so I should be able to finish it by, like. The end of the year at least lol?
Currently reading: I started reading SVSSS recently because, like. The mxtx mania is in full throttle. I just got here a little later than most people lmao. I'm also currently "reading" like seven different books that I bought or pirated this year and have on hold. One of my Unfortunate Skills is bingereading like 200 pages of something in 1-2 days and then not finishing the rest of it for 8 months.
Currently working on: Keep My Shadow Alive, my big xue yang-centric fix it fic!!! Well, more like a fix it, and then break it more, and then eventually actually fix it fic. Starting from the canon divergence of "Add Pre-Teen Xue Yang to the Burial Mounds Fam" and going from there. I read every fic like that that's on ao3 and was still being eaten alive by the brainworms so I started writing my own take on it and ~6 months later it's the longest fic I've ever written and only 25% of the way through its outline???? So. Who knows if it will get finished (my track record is admittedly not great)- but I've had such a blast writing it so far. Xue Yang is just SO fun to write. Yes it has a plot and character arcs and I could even go full English Major* and start telling you about its Themes, but also it's just an excuse to write Xue Yang interacting with every member of the MDZS cast. Going to STOP talking now bc I fully am the type of writer who will get carried away talking about their wips.
*i am not an english major, but spiritually i am an english major.
Current obsession: Yeah uh, MDZS. My friend convinced me to finally read it in January of this year, and the hyperfixation train has simply not stopped since then. Genshin Impact also dragged me back in with the Fontaine update and I've been having a lot of fun playing it. But MDZS is still mostly the thing that's eating up my RAM. Particularly the Yi City crew, but 3zun is rotating in there too. Sometimes even The Man WWX Himself, i talk about him less but i do love him a lot also lol
Tagging: I'm honestly too shy to do this!!! But thank you for tagging me anyway<3
#love when people invite me to ramble💕#if i ever post something unprompted it has been edited 6 times for conciseness#not this post. i sat down and word vomited until it was over and i am not rereading it or i'll get self conscious#tag games#aphelion.txt#mdzs has been like. category 5 autism event#it's been a long time since something grabbed me this hard#often i'll be super obsessed with something for 2-3 months and wring all the interest out of it and move on#i mean it's not uncommon for me to cycle back to a previous interest after awhile and have another obsession phase#but the enduring power of mdzs has been quite impressive

Fic author interview tagged by @vampirenaomi
1 How many works do you have on AO3?
42
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
728,089
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Fic that annoys me so much I disabled comments (go find it yourself lmao), Marked for Death, Tiger by the Tail, What's coming through is Alive, The Sea is Getting Rough Again
my one piece fics all have way more kudos than my recent stuff basically
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i do sometimes, im usually tired from writing and editing so sometimes ill just say thanks lol
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
i wrote a fic anonymously which is horrendously dark and doesnt have a happy ending but I think most other fics i write at least have a bittersweet or happy ending hdfgb
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
uhhhhhh i dunno man I like the ending of the fic i wrote where goemon threatens to cut one of jigen's exes' dicks off and then they go hang out by the pool. that was fun :)
7. Do you write crossovers?
not really, I've had a few ideas for them but they're hard to write and wouldnt have worked out
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
not... really? i got a really weird backhanded compliment where someone talked at length about a ship i dont like (the fic wasnt about that couple) then said the first chapter was alright apart from being painfully slow (thanks) and then accused me of virtue signalling because of the difficult topics i handled in the fic.
It was really, really strange like I genuinely think they were trying to pay me a compliment but they were incredibly shit at it lol
And then in another fic I turned off comments because a minor started bitching at me about the porn I wrote not being sexy enough and when I told them to go away they harassed me for a little while. That was fun.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yeas. I prefer it when smut is incorporated into the story because I kind of need the emotional stakes to be high enough otherwise I kind of lose interest. Smut without feelings is just kinda boring to me. Of course I have some exceptions but those are rare nowadays.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes, though it's on wattpad apparently so I have no idea if the person doing it credited me because I dont use that site lol.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yeah and I dont recommend it. we only wrote like 2 chapters of it but i no longer speak to the co-author and the whole thing ended up feeling a bit disjointed and weird.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Uhh I have a couple, zoro/luffy, ace/sanji, jigen/lupin and jigen/goemon
zolu probably wins here because i have not so far written a 200k fic about anyone else lol
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
*gestures weakly at literally everything in my google docs*
I forgot how to write sorry
15. What are your writing strengths?
*tv static noise*
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
i cant speak english
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I don't know whether its bad or just handled badly by a lot of writers but I don't like it. Speaking as someone whos been learning japanese for the past 2+ years I hate it when I come across a word and have to either look it up myself or scroll to the bottom of the fic for any footnotes there are to explain it. Gonna use myself as an example for how I go about this kind of thing:
Fujiko tries to smile at his robotic, overly formal speech patterns, when really it's a little off-putting. She hasn't heard anyone use the word sessha, 'my humble self', for themselves outside of a period drama.
each to their own but i prefer putting in a small aside like this rather than shoving in foreign words and expecting for the reader to go and break the flow of the writing by looking it up for themselves.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
id say pokemon mystery dungeon but the first fic i wrote i instantly deleted after getting one negative comment, i think one piece is more where i cut my teeth
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
i dont really know? ive gotten into a couple of new things recently but they havent triggered my "oh i gotta write something" reaction
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
i dunno man i dont like my work very much right now heres an image if u read all of this

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thought this would be fun with the end of the year!
1. How many works do you have on A03?
31.
2. What's your total A03 word count?
398,723. I'm really proud of this number tbh; never thought I'd write this much. Was hoping to hit 400k by the end of 2023 but I don't think that's gonna happen. Here's to hoping I hit half a million by this time next year!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
AA/DGS
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
You Ever Been In Love?
Things Are As They Are
On the Morality of Birds
Awkward Business
The View from the Gallery
No DGS fics. I know its a smaller fandom so it makes sense but still. 🥲 Also I swear I'll finish Awkward Business someday I'm just. So deep into Sherlock Holmes/DGS hell atm. ;A;
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I never do unless it's a specific question. I used to but then I got overwhelmed/I never knew what to say so I just stopped. That said, I read all of them and they really mean a ton to me!!!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Prob Running Late or Shoulder Pain. I'm not really good with angsty endings so I usually only keep it angsty in the shorter fics lmao.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Lololol I think most of my fics have happy endings so that's a hard one.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! Thankfully, I think the hate on fics trend has died down a lot since the ff.net days.
9. Do you write smut?
Hell yeah. Please read my smut I'm so proud of it. I'm also on a quest to boost the hmmk smut tag on ao3 so if y'all have any smut you wanna see for them lmk.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Nope. My dream fic of a holmesverse crossover will happen someday though.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully no.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I've had a few translated to Russian and Chinese. Honestly it's insanely flattering when ppl ask to translate a fic like ough you liked my story so much you wanted to share it with others who don't speak English? It's so sweet. ;A;
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Okay so Mango and Krissey and I started an amazing pirate AU and l adore it. And someday. We will finish it. I believe in us. I'd love to co-write a fic tho so if anyone's interested please hmu I think it'd be so so fun.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Ugh. Johnlock/Hmmk or Nrmt have to be like. The only ships that made me insane enough to write multiple fics over so it's def them. I love insanely codependant relationships.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There's so many. But off the top of my head, I have a fantasy AU that Beau and I came up with that I still love a ton (Finding You) and want to finish and a Edgeworth ends up in a Gregory lives AU (In Another Life) that I'm not sure if I'll ever finish. The former is just so much work and the latter I've kinda lost the plot thread so. Ough. Sorry.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
aksfjjalsjflsjf everything else LMAO. That's why we practice!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't love doing it? I've done it like once for a fic where language was important but other than that I try to avoid doing it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
....hetalia..........it was the only other fandom i wrote for before AA. This was like in 2009/2010 tho I know better now but those fics ARE still up on fanfiction.net (: It sucks b/c sometimes I wanna compare my old writing to my current writing but I'm like ough. I cannot read these old fics.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I'd have to say A Study In Gold. I genuinely love that one so much. Thinking about hmmk early days makes me insane. I also really liked On the Morality of Birds b/c it was just such a supremely stupid fic.
@anyone who sees this and writes fic please feel free to do it! I'd love to see others talk about their fics <3
