"Oh, dead? Oh, very much no," Sasha laughed, and she could see the warmth of her breath in the cool night air before she admitted, "They're very much alive but not like me. They're actually talented." Sasha smoothed her skirt at her self-deprecating comment. She was new to necromancy, and her talents lay elsewhere. However, her mentor, Cianan, assured her that given time, she'd continue to improve.
A sharp laugh escaped when Alex shared their similar fate surrounded by the grump brigade. Shrugging a shoulder she asked, "Rancher, huh? Makes sense in these parts." The two had an easy nature between them despite only being recently acquainted.
Glancing down the street she weighed the other's words making an assessment. Tilting her head before she smiled and said, "My night was kind of over already. I stick out like a sore thumb around here. I'm a few blocks over in Library Park. You're welcome to come if you want if you don't want to be alone. I have a guest room. Otherwise, I can walk you to your car?"
Alex had long ago decided that it didn't really matter if what she saw was real or not; in her head or supernatural. Either way it had the same affect didn't it? People turned their heads away from her, they stepped back. The old men on the reservation and and the bar in her home town told stories about Revenants and old miners that got lost and went mad in the same breath. What medical intitutions explained now as pyhscosis and hallusination were just different words for what her ancestors had talked about for centuries. Sure they were more pallatable- they sounded like explinations, but they were just as out of their control as a ghost or a ghoul.
And either way people like her, and people like Sasha it seemed, had to find ways to appear normal in a world that felt as though it had an explination for everything. "Yeah? Are they dead though? Or are they like you?" She couldn't help but ask with a quirked eyebrow because it didn't appear that Sasha had gone through that yet. If she had, Alex doubted she would be crying at her story, or have the ability to act as normal as she had. Still clearly she wasn't just a pretty face that had taken pity on her during a panic attack either.
She snorted at Sashas description of her uncle. "Honestly? I grew up the only daughter of a Montana Rancher. Grumpy old men are kinda my specialty." She joked....but it wasn't exactly a joke at the same time.
The realization hit Sasha faster then it hit Alex, but mostly because she was distracted this time instead of her normal lose of time. "We um....we wont be able to walk to my place from here." She admitted, eyes drifting off into the mountains for a moment. "Where are you staying? I dont want to end your night early."
