"Got some 'main character syndrome' in you, huh?" [From Steven] [x]
bullying the traumatized
Is there such a thing as reading too many books, to ascribe literary roles like that to reality? Probably not in Steven's case, with mostly non-fiction and poetry in his collection. The closest to stories with protagonists, antagonists and themes being mythology-- some of that was fiction, to be sure. Some of them were poetic interpretations of real events, things gods would spin to make themselves look good or others look bad, to flex their power to their faithful.
"All gods once had their bastions of faith, showered in praise for their attributes. I was worshipped in ancient Thebes as the Greatest of the Great Gods." He only says it so flippantly because Steven likely knows already, one of those facts that wasn't lost to time. It's easy to pick at that, yes, how far he's fallen. But that's a pantheon-wide problem-- it was his fellows that singled him out as unacceptable, not humanity. "All gods are 'main characters' within the circles of their influence. You deny the god of the night sky-- the one who has stood by your world-- his due?"
He has his staff pointed towards Steven, accusingly, slowly placing it back at his side. He's leans back from where he's seated, on top of something. "I suppose it is not a thing you understand. One who is not even the 'main character' of his own life."
