@divinecanopus sent: “Come with me! Let’s dance together!” — Elizabeth (to Morty)
Tumblr media
When they had met, just a few weeks before, Morty had thought that he would have never seen Elizabeth again. Not because he hadn't enjoyed her company, because he had, perhaps a little more than he should have. However, usually he never had the chance to turn the encounters he made during adventures into something more concrete. He had assumed that the same would have happened with the young noblewoman.
As it had turned out, though, he had been wrong. And he was very thankful for it.
Not only Lizzie had insisted on seeing him again, once the time to part ways had come, but he had managed to convince Rick to let him go back to her dimension. It had cost him, because he had been forced to bribe the scientist, but for how he saw it, it had been worth it.
The invitation to the party had been a bit of a surprise, since they usually hanged out alone, but he had accepted it with little hesitation. Both because he was curious to see how aristocratic supposedly fun gatherings worked and because it would have meant spending more time with Lizzie.
Now that she had asked him to dance, however, he was starting to wonder if he had made the wrong choice.

"W-What? I...In front of everyone?" He asked, resisting as she tried to pull him towards the dance floor. "I-I don't think...It's not a good idea. I-I don't..."
Was a rich American supposed to know how to dance? Was it part of the education he was pretending to have? He had no clue. He really needed to do some proper research, or he would surely find himself in this sort of trouble again.
"I-I'm really bad at it. An-And I get...uh...stage fright, so..." He waved a hand instead of finishing the sentence. "Y-You should dance with someone w-who can make you look good. I-I don't want to embarrass you with...y-you know. My lack of skill."
