How would you rewrite Mulan 2?
I'd just begin from scratch really. I tried to come up what would I keep from the existing sequel and I think that's maybe just the yin-yang necklaces. Which were a deleted idea from the first movie anyway.
Easy and lazy answer would be to go with whatever idea they had in Mulan 2's deleted scene, battle sequence, (check it out, it's super cool). It's like spy-ninja-duo of Mulan and Shang working like a badass couple. Mulan 2 concept arts (part 1, part 2) are not too bad either, and although they definitely have some usual Disney sequel cliches(eg. having the girl Mushu dragon), I'd still think I could enjoy it a bit more than what they ended up with.
Then there's Barry Cook's draft, aka the co-director of the original movie wrote synopsis for the potential sequel when he heard that Disney was considering of doing sequel to Mulan. In fact there was going to be Mulan 3 as well, apparently Mulan 2 ruined it as it was too badly received. There's hardly anything known of Barry Cook's draft details, just that soon-to-be-married Mulan and Shang are sent to north since things are happening there, and at the end there would have been an epic battle between Mulan's ancestors and Shan Yu's deceased army.
Actually I lied earlier what would be easiest and laziest. That would be just doing the visual novel The Palace of Secrets. Seriously I wouldn't change a thing.
There's many directions where one could go with the sequel really, some fanfics have done pretty amazing job exploring different options. I have made a post where I put up some fanfic recommendations, but some are like one-shots so they could hardly be sequels.
Personally, rather than a sequel movie I really really would like to see Mulan tv-series. Something like Tangled: the Series. It could have the sillier filler episodes but the main plot could be epic. Series could also make possible to explore side characters' character arc in more detail. I have played with this idea before too, with my friend @mulanxiaojie.
I'm quite satisfield how the first movie ended, but I'll list some pointers that I and I think most would like to see in a continuation story:
Mulan getting a career
Mulan and Shang getting together
Chi Fu x Matchmaker :P
And then some that are not really necessary but would be really interesting to see, just to list some of the potential sequel tv series could have:
Fa Zhou's past
Mulan's and Granma Fa's relationship
seeing the other guardians besides Mushu (and the Great Stone Dragon)
developing Gang of Three as invidual characters
exploring historical China
an actual villain (should be basic but the sequel didn't have that)

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) Masterpost
Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) is a Vocal synth (Vocaloid and SynthV) music project. It consists of songs themed around different figures throughout Chinese history. The project is a collaboration between different artists and creatives, with music and videos featuring prominent traditional Chinese elements. The project's title translates to "The Records of Magnificence of the Wangchuan" - In Chinese mythology, "Wangchuan" (or River of Forgetting) is a river in the Underworld that can rid one of their past life's memories, similar to the river Lethe.
A mobile game adaptation has also been developed by NetEast. Unfortunately, I haven't played it so I can't give much insight on it. However, I assume that its premise is similar to that of the idea behind the project as a whole: all these historical figures meeting each other in the Underworld after they died. Maybe.
You can find all the songs on Bilibili. The official Weibo can be found here. The game's website, which includes all characters appearing so far in the game, can be found here, and its Weibo can be found here.
(If you prefer YouTube, I've also put together a handy playlist. Please know that most of these videos are reposts though, so please watch the original Bilibili MVs if you can!)
This blog is where I will be posting everything I feel like I need to say about the songs in this project. A lot of it is lifted from my Twitter account but will be in much more detail. Note that I probably won't touch collab songs, or songs that don't focus solely on the project's own characters.
Disclaimer: I do not speak Chinese, nor am I an expert on Chinese history. Therefore, I cannot reliably translate the lyrics to these songs, nor my words should be taken as gospel. I am merely a nerd gushing about my hyperfixation.

author self-rec game - tagged by @lady-of-the-lotus thanks for the tag! 💕
Rules: list the five favorite fics you’ve written, then pass it on to five other writers.
Puh... Basically this is me just tagging about every fic I've written so far, considering a lot are more on the nah side of things, but let's see 😂
1. Time is Our Worst Enemy
Recently I just recommended this fic to my super amazing and precious reader @impossible-stardust and realized this is - if maybe not my best or most popular - definitely my all time favourite XueXiao fic that I've written so far 💕
Basically it is me going: "The Yi City Arc didn't hurt enough - Let's make it even more heart-wrenching!" #peacewasneveranoption #IdontwantpeaceIwantproblems
2. Now That I See You
This fic is really dear to me because it is the most extensive one I've written so far and I spend like every spare minute thinking about it and plotting (if also often not always writing... #writerstruggles)
While watching the deleted campfire scene and seeing XY making heart-eyes at XXC and also his puppy-eyes during their final confrontation, I thought: "Gosh, what if XXC could have seen his expressions and had really had the time to understand and reflect on XYs story and past? And what if XY was more aware of his feelings sooner and less vicious & shaped by his past? This definitely would have changed things!"
Thus, this fic was born featuring a XXC, who still has his eyes, and a XY who's amnesiac after the assassination attempt. And, yes, I do take the slow in slow-burn very seriously here.
3. Fate is a Wicked Thing
Way before descending into danmei hell and becoming a Xue Yang apologist, I was an avid Loki stan and Lokane shipper and also very pissed with how his character was done dirty by Marvel. So I thought Screw canon! and went to write a canon divergence where the Infinity Stones are sentient beings and two of them always form a pair and they bond with their hosts and the pairing also extends to their hosts. So now we have Loki bonded to the Tesseract and Jane bonded to the Aether, which are a pair, and thus the two of them also find themselves suddenly developing feelings for one another and then having to question whether these feelings are influenced by the Infinity Stones or maybe their own after all...
Regrettably, I haven't finished or updated this in years as my interests and obsessions have shifted...
4. Down in the Black Sea
Are you even truly pan (or bi) if you haven't got a weird obsession with pirates and mermaids and Pirates of the Caribbean?
So yeah, I love mermaids, I love pirates, and I love the idea of combining that obsession with XueXiao. Thankfully I stumbled upon @memequeen1127 's fic collection and got permission to continue her opening chapter for what is now also one of my most beloved fics!
It's about XY, a mermaid hunter, being saved by XXC, a white mermaid of legend, with whose heart one can gain immeasurable power. So of course XY wants that power. But the growing feelings between them may yet change the tide of any ensuing betrayal...
5. Lone Wolf And His White Sheep Shizun
Take XueXiao but make it RanWan. As my obsessions shifted yet again to another pairing, but I can't quite let go of XueXiao (probably not ever again), I decided to just combine it and make it one huge obsession ✔️
But be warned: Updates are very slow for this one... #sorry
And now, I'm excited to get to know your favourite personal fics!
@bao-shan-black
@onlyonewoman
@unfortunatelycake
@the-ineffable-arvari
@zishustits
And anyone else who sees this and wants to join in 🥰
#self-rec game#just fic writer things#recommending your own 5 favourite fics#No#my obsession with XueXiao is not obvious at all...

Fic Writer Interview Game
thank you @jockvillagersonly for tagging me! you're the absolute sweetest 🥺💖
name: susu (苏苏)
fandoms: honestly, a lot. but of the works i've posted on ao3, the list includes the following: Qing Ya Ji (The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity), Dao Mu Bi Ji (The Grave Robbers' Chronicles/The Lost Tomb series), Zhen Hun (Guardian), Chenghua Shi Si Nian (The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty), and Good Omens
if we include fanart though, then there's also Shan He Ling (Word of Honor) and Chen Qing Ling (The Untamed)
two-shots: i genuinely didn't think i had any but here we are lol.
do not speak as loud as my heart: DMBJ & Guardian crossover 💙💚
i love(d) you: Star Wars AU for Good Omens ♡♥
in another time (UNFINISHED): TSOMD immortal!Ding Rong 💜❤️
and may we tie our hearts together again is technically part 1 of something too: red string AU for QYJ ⚫️⚪️
most popular multi-chapter fic: well, i mostly write one-shots haha! but by hits, kudos, comments, and bookmarks, it's a string of paper cranes (red string AU for TSOMD 💜❤️)
actual worst part of writing: i think just getting into the groove of things, trying to find enter flow state? i'm unfortunately really particular about the music i listen to when i write, so i tend to spend hours trying to find the perfect song to serve as my soundtrack instead of, you know, writing LOL
how you choose your titles: it's usually a quote lol no matter if it's a line from the show/book, a lyric, or from a poem (i've been doing more translation work recently so i take stuff from Chinese songs too). and on the occasions that i actually come up with something original... man, i couldn't even tell you how it happens; it's like when the DVD logo finally hits the corner of the tv screen and suddenly i have an idea once in a blue moon
do you outline?: yes. i've outlined for every fic i've written so far except the upcoming PingXie Exchange one (and for that reason, it was so much more difficult to write even though it's one of my shorter fics lol); i really need outlines so i won't miss any of the details i want to include
ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: the thing is, i really think i WILL eventually get around to all my ideas, but i just have a lot of things going on :') but some of the stuff catching dust in my folder include an Orpheus & Eurydice retelling of CQL WangXian and some PingXie and Iron Triangle post-canon fluff. the Story of Yanxi Palace AU for TSOMD is still there, and i'm still not satisfied with the second chapter of "in another time" lol. other WIPs include a "Wu Xie dies but the DMBJ world has to continue on" AU and also the red string AU for QYJ from Qingming's pov. there's a huatubing (hanahaki) AU for RongZhi + focus on Wan Tong idea that i've discussed with @rongzhi too, and @naiwong-bao and i are of course still working on our QingYa derivative fic :)
and i'd love to write something for Xin Zhai Lie Ren (Psych-Hunter). the ending of that show left me so unsatisfied LOL
OH actually, i think the one idea that i'll truly never write is something for Shi Shen Ling (The Yin Yang Master). that movie... anyway, i just want to give all the characters so much more development dammit. it'd be post-canon; Baini and Boya become unlikely friends, and Qingming is still doing his stupid i-have-to-be-alone-to-protect-the-world nonsense or whatever. but he's always watching out for Baini and making sure she's safe.
callouts @ me: um... write faster? haha and... try to work outside your comfort zone a little more. try and write something without any angst at all. a rated-E fic maybe. and remember that even if only one person reads your story, even if that one person is you, then that's all you need.
best writing traits: i think i tend to have pretty strong dialogue. i'm good at showing love stories without necessarily an "i love you" in there. and, as much as i whine about it, i think i'm pretty good at making the "angst with a happy ending" pay off; it's exhausting to cope with the characters as they go through losses and tribulations, but i think i tend to handle it pretty realistically for the most part.
spicy tangential opinion: well, i don't think this is particularly anything newsworthy, but read what you like and don't read what you don't like. remember that most people are doing this out of an interest in the fandom, that it touched some part of them, and even if they're angry at the creators and writing fix-its out of spite, they're still doing it for free. so be kind to each other. and be kind to yourself; don't purposefully consume anything that will upset you.
and also. if you are not the intended audience for which a work was originally created and you're unfamiliar with the socio-historical and cultural context of the work, i am telling you not to speak over the voices of the fans who do belong to that culture. i am not asking nicely anymore. be respectful, do the proper research, and ask questions. if you are genuinely willing to learn and be educated, then people will be excited to answer. REMEMBER. you are a guest.
tagging (only if you want to!!! and if you've already done this, i'm so sorry for missing it): @naiwong-bao, @rongzhi, @lqcoups, @astarlitwishforyou, @aloverdestroyed, @ftw-wolvie, @inrainprose, @laireshi, @thosch3i, @a-universe-of-almosts

C-Novel Rec
So, I have a Deep Abiding Love for Chinese Webnovels, but not often do I get one that actually gets me deep in my heart in a way where I think about it after I’m done and so I wanted to talk about it a little here.
The novel I want to talk about is called Rebirth of a Star General (重生之女将星) , by Qian Shan Cha Ke (千山茶客). If you’ve read (hetero) c-novels, you might know her name, since she also wrote the novel Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, which is almost a classic in this kind of rebirth genre.
This Rec/Review/overlong essay is going to contain spoilers, so if you’re completely allergic to those I’ll just give you my TL;DR here: I preferred it a lot over RMEML.
Now to my endless wall of words:
Rebirth of the Star General is pretty much what it says on the tin, main character He Yan, is a famous general in her own right, but no one knows about it because she was only the stand-in for her sickly brother. When her brother grew up and was no longer sick, the family decided that he should receive the military honors she had earned and she would be married off. This was possible thanks to the fact she had always worn a mask, so as not to be discovered.<o:p></o:p>
He Yan was not entirely happy with this decision, but she thought she would make the best of it. Of course, it gets worse because not even a year into her marriage she is first poisoned and then blind as a result and later murdered by her cousin, a concubine of her husband.
She gets reborn as He Yan, beloved and spoiled daughter of a city guard and vows revenge, both on her former husband and on her family, but most of all she longs to become a general again, but this time under her own name and with acknowledgement of her being a female general.
If you want your rebirth novels to include lots of face slapping or intricate revenge plotting, this is not the novel for you, since soon after she is reborn, she kills a guy out of self-defense and when his family and the city guard are after her she uses this chance to enlist in the army, disguised as a man.
This is where she meets her arch-rival in her previous life, a man so gorgeous, once again entire paragraphs are filled trying to describe his magnificent beauty - a hallmark of this author if I ever saw one. She decides she will use this chance anyway, her knowledge of military tactics and her knowledge of her rival (and former classmate) possibly being beneficial in this case.
The author makes it a point to emphasise that He Yan struggles initially to keep up with the military training, since she is now inhabiting the body of a woman who does not have experience with hard work and that she has to work twice as hard to be even mediocre, in the beginning. Obviously mediocrity does not lead to quick military advancement, so her getting incredibly fit very quickly anyway is not very realistic, but even before she had enlisted, He Yan had trained her new body and she has many years of experience as to how to get better and fighting experience, so I gave the novel a pass on that one.
Up to this point the novel was entertaining, but it didn’t really grip me too hard, although I was impatient enough to MTL it, but as the story goes along He Yan really developed into one of my favourite c-novel heroines ever. So often in novels like this, the female character is treated as exceptional and all other women are dumb bitches, often just in the way of our main couple and dispatched accordingly. But He Yan does not treat other women like this and over the course of the novel builds lasting connections with all sorts of women.
And then there is the scene that made me go: okay yeah, this is going right up the favourite list.
He Yan meets up with the Second Male Lead (who never really is a serious threat to the OTP, He Yan only ever sees him as a friend and somewhat nice guy) and he tries the “oh you’re so unique and special, no other woman is like you” speech, but He Yan stops him and rips into him and the patriarchy in such a beautiful way, that even MTL doesn’t hamper:
"A-He is very different from ordinary women."
He Yan looked at her, "What's different?"
Chu Zhao continued to walk forward, his voice still soft: "Most women, even though they are faced with such a predicament, are already numb and indifferent, and do not think as much as Ah He does. If A-He is thinking about them now, it is very likely that they wont enjoy it, and they will even complain that you are meddling in their affairs."
He laughed: "This sounds a bit condescending."
Chu Zhao smiled, "Why do you say that?"
"The court is a man's court, the world's affairs are a man's world affairs, even when studying in the battlefield, it is men who are the only ones who have the grace. It is so unreasonable that men take advantage of the world, but in turn blame women for being numb-minded and unmotivated, what is this if not superiority?"
"Brother Chu thinks that I am different from ordinary women because I have studied, I have left the house, and I even went to the military camp. But if you let those women be like me, who have seen the snow of Liangzhou Wei, the water of Jiyang City, the long moon of the desert, the rivers and mountains, do you think they would still be willing to be trapped in a jealous mansion, would they still be complacent and numb and foolish?"
She smiled a little bit like Xiao Jue, "I think the men in the world are worried about this, so they have set up many ridiculous rules to bind women, breaking their wings with the three rules and five rules, and using those unwarranted 'virtuous wives and beautiful women' to judge them. The more foolish they are, the more reassured the men are, and the more they say, 'See, the women are shallow', when they are the ones who caused it!"
"Because they also know that once women are given the chance to 'choose', they will never become a vase in the harem with their hands outstretched waiting to be fed by their husbands. Those good women would become generals, chivalrous men, scribes, staff, and compete with them for the grace of the world, and they, in turn, might not win."
The girl's eyes were as clear as the water in the springtime of Ji Yang City, transparent and clear, seeing clearly and distinctly, as if they could reflect the most splendid daylight.
He was always able to speak well and would not bring the atmosphere to an awkward point, but at this moment he did not know what to say. It was as if there was nothing he could say to refute the person in front of him. It was clearly a ridiculous, insouciant, naive and annoyingly righteous statement, but it shone out the shadow of a human being, with nothing to hide.
He was also uneven in his heart.
Although pretending to be "He Ru Fei" had brought her a lot of pain in her life, it had also taught her to see sights that many women would never see in their lifetime. If she hadn't pretended to be "He Ru Fei", she would not have known that men could do so much more than women. If you were talented in literature, you could be a bachelor with a full belly, if you were skilled, you could be a general with a good war record. Even if you were mediocre at everything, you could still be the most ordinary man on the street. To put it mildly, even at the Raketongzhuang, women were gambling prostitutes and men were gamblers.
It was only because she later became "Madam Xu" and worked as both a man and a woman that she realised that the world treats men and women so differently, that it is not that men do not suffer, but their suffering can be the basis for judging themselves. The women, on the other hand, spend their lives waiting for the men's affirmation of their hardships.
It is obvious that they are both born as human beings, but who is more noble than the other? It is ridiculous that some men still look down on girls from the bottom of their hearts, which makes people speechless.
and this is when the author pretty much states why He Yan would never be with SML
Chu Zhao and Xiao Jue were, after all, not the same. With women, they both considered them weak and unable to protect themselves. But the former's judgement had a hint of negativity and condescension in it, while the latter, as evidenced by the treatment of the female corpse in the Sun family's backyard in Liangzhou City, had more to do with pity.
And I loved that so much??? Yes, both the ML and SML have patriarchical attitudes towards women, but for He Yan there is a subtle and important difference. And this continues to be a theme throughout the book. One woman later keeps telling her son “Don’t underestimate women!” to later add, after He Yan has become a female general in her own right, under her own name, that He Yan might not be the only female general, there will be two, three or even more.
The romance is of the very, very slow variety and the main couple doesn’t even get together until the last quarter of the novel, officially, but before that we have all sorts of delicious fake relationship, cohabitation and other delightful tropey shenanigans.
The slow romance and relatively easy way the revenge is dealt out might mean this is not for everyone, but if you’re into a nice novel about a woman realising her goals, with a man who will always support her by her side, this might be for you.
And yes, she continues to lead armies after they are married :D

Love O2O
This is about the 2016 Chinese drama starring Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang. I have not read the original novel. I have not seen the movie.
I finished the drama yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. When I watched the first episode, I actually thought I was watching the wrong video because suddenly I’m seeing all these people in traditional Chinese attire with all these weird powers. But I really grew to love the in-game scenes. I’ve described this drama as quirky when I was finished with a third of it and I still stand by it. It’s fun and refreshing and weird in all the good ways.
Wei Wei and Xiao Nai’s relationship was really nice to see. The trust in each other and their willingness to communicate despite awkward beginnings. I also love their mean streaks and just how coordinated they are in teasing others. Not to mention, I love their partnership both in-game and in real life. Xiao Nai lets Wei Wei fight her own battles, believing completely that she can handle it herself. The one time he intervened, he even apologized to her. I like how when Wei Wei decides to depend on Xiao Nai, it’s always because she knows she’s not alone rather than because she wants to take it easy. And I like how when Xiao Nai depends on Wei Wei, it is because he trusts her and not because he has no other choice.
I found it funny while watching and I still did after I rewatched it just now, but I also realized Xiao Nai’s stalker tendencies are pretty disturbing. Hahaha Though I do love how he uses his computer genius to protect Wei Wei and her reputation.
I like the fact that even though she usually calls him “Master”, Wei Wei uses Xiao Nai’s real name when she is serious. She used it when asking Xiao Nai how he knew about her, and when she was upset because of the “fight” with Er Xi. It’s the same way she also used “Nai He” in-game when she sincerely thanked him for cheering her up.
But no matter how cute they are, my favorite relationship in this drama -- romantic, platonic, familial, what-have-you -- is actually Wei Wei and Ban Shan’s. Perhaps it helps that the actors really did so well in bringing out a sense of comfortable friendship between them. They banter easily, both pretty chill and can be savage, and they care for each other. I don’t know. I love their scenes together so much even if they are pretty short. One of my favories is when Wei Wei brought up Ban Shan’s jacket (polo?) over him while he slept.
I came to really like Yang Yang because of this drama. However, I don’t know if it’s connected to me liking Wei Wei and Ban Shan’s friendship, but Niu Jun Feng stole my heart in this drama. <3 It’s okay, he can have it. <3 <3 <3
I’m pretty sad that Wei Wei is mostly just portrayed as a gamer in the drama. I’d hoped they would have shown more of her programming skills as well, seeing as she’s considered a genius student in computer science. She’s usually either just talked about as a great beauty or a skilled gamer. It’s a shame that her intelligence, which I thought they were trying to highlight in the first episode, was only very shallowly touched upon since.
Also, I hope this drama didn’t (doesn’t) perpetuate the mistaken belief that CS students learn about fixing laptops and computers. :| While it is true some CS students can do that, it’s mostly because of their self-study. Hardware isn’t really what computer science is about, even if it may be related.
At first, I liked Cao Guang. But he really became an annoying character. I was clapping so hard when Wei Wei finally put him in his place and made him realize his stupidity and selfishness. It was because of this that I didn’t even enjoy his romance with Er Xi. Plus, Er Xi was pretty annoying that one time, which didn’t help. Though I liked her overall.
The most annoying character for me, however, is Nana. Not only is she a fake, she also consistently caused heartache for Yi Ran and twisted her views. Yi Ran, for me, was very pitiable. She had absolutely no idea how to handle her feelings and was just dragged around by people who took advantage of her.
Another annoying character is Sleeping Butterfly. I didn’t really have much of an opinion about her right until the end during the clan meet up when she used Wei Wei. I said and I mean “used”. She lied to Wei Wei and used her to take some petty revenge on the other girls in the clan just because her boyfriend is a useless, unfaithful, womanizer. Wei Wei never wanted to show her identity. If I were Wei Wei, I would have stormed out. The hell I care if the rest of the clan think Butterfly was lying if that’s how she’s gonna treat me.
During their college days, I loved Wei Wei’s interaction with Ban Shan, Hao Mei, and Qui. Loved that they call her “Third sister-in-law” and I found it pretty funny when they keep reporting about her to Xiao Nai. I like that Xiao Nai has no problems with leaving Wei Wei in their company, and that Wei Wei is comfortable around them. Though, I had hoped Qui was more developed as a character. Pretty sad considering he had almost equal appearances with Ban Shan and Hao Mei at the start but only the latter two got focused on later on.
After the boys graduated, I loved her interactions with the employees in Zhi Yi and how they treated her. That company outing near the end is definitely one of my favorites. For all the times this drama showed obnoxious fangirls taking pictures and following Xiao Nai, I really thought the time for people to actually crowd over something was when an entourage of 4 cars went to pick Wei Wei up.
I’m sure I had a lot more to say and just can’t remember them at the moment. But really, this drama was great! I enjoyed it so much and I’m rewatching it now and will probably rewatch it again.

Review : Wrath of Silence
Wrath of Silence
Wrath of Silence" Director Xin Yukun uses the art of the film to portray his message to the audience, As I would see it, this is an exceptionally amazing film. Using color grade and the setting of the scene and props, the crowd can plainly comprehend that Zhang Baomin in the town symbolizes the lower-class people. These are little indecencies contrasted with those of the villain, Chang Wannian (Jiang). Underneath the costly suits and shoes lies a mobster utilizing both muscle and cash to control all the coal mines in the area. In his first scene in the film, he is indicated threatening an adversary while a meat slicer spins out of sight. Coming someplace in the middle of these two extremely differentiating characters is Xu Wenjie (Yuan Wenkang), a lawyer under investigation by the authorities for his work with Chang. The emotional attachment to the character of Zhang Baomin was so intense to the point, that one could feel his torment and distress when he was on the quest for his kidnapped child. Hats off to actor Song Yang, he has done justice to the character of Zhang, without articulating a word he has possessed the capacity to communicate monstrously with the audience. His eyes could uncover his entire internal world to the crowd. While observing first 50% of the film, The director makes the audience lost yet once got hold of it, at that point, it was an exciting ride, loaded with nail-gnawing scenes. Especially the cave scene where he hides the girl and felt something inside the cave, showing the genuine characteristics 'strength' and 'flexibility' of Hollywood films. The different points of interest of the film are handled well, and the Editing and soundtrack are likewise developed. The three-story lines are efficient, the characters are enthusiastic and vivacious. The best part was using of symbolic props like pyramids, meat cutter, stones, a cave at the end of the movie the mine collapsed, symbolizing that the child's soul will remain in the cave, and secrets will be buried forever. The color of the movie defines the character very amazing, having the red tone on Chang Wannian, Zhang Baomin with the intense warm tone colors and the lawyer with cool tone until his daughter was kidnapped
.
The ending can be more interesting if the director lets the audience open about the killing of the kid and have not shown the kid making a drawing on the wall. The Director of photography "He Shan" made some amazing frame and the uses of Lomography lenses make the looks of the movie beautiful and sharp.By watching this, I could comprehend a considerable measure of things about cinematography, Production outline, sound, altering pace, narrating.

I’m going to be real with you guys. I don’t watch many modern mainland Chinese dramas, which is why this list is so short. I adore historical Chinese dramas, but modern ones are very hit or miss for me. I don’t know if this will sound insensitive, but I hate hate hate the way characters treat one another in these dramas. I understand and accept the cattiness of women in harem dramas because they are literally fighting for the lives of themselves and their families. What excuse do these people have nowadays? I find that too many modern dramas rely heavily on the characters destroying one another—for dumb and vapid reasons—to move the plot along.
Title: Love O2O Synopsis: Xiao Nai is a gaming expert who, courtesy of his basketball skills, academic excellence, swimming talent and game company presidency, also happens to be the most popular student on campus. When he first comes across the gorgeous computer science major Bei Wei Wei, the infinitely talented wunderkind immediately falls in love. But it’s not Bei’s looks that he notices; it’s the ridiculous mastery with which she is commanding her guild and owning everyone in an online multiplayer game that makes her impossible to forget. Now, Xiao Nai must use his skills both in real life and online to capture the adorable but dorky Bei’s heart. But does their love have the XP to succeed, or will this relationship never level up? Stats: 30 Episodes / 2016 Thoughts: Love O2O is probably one of the better modern Chinese dramas. The overall story is sweet and well realized. I had some problems here or there(FULL Review Here), but Yang Yang was especially well cast and pretty much carried this drama to the top of this list. Score: 8.5/10
Title: Fiancee Synopsis: Lan Xiao Yi left her job in Nanjing to follow her boyfriend Tian Fei to Shanghai. In Shanghai, Xiao Yi struggles with her low-paying job but is happy to be with Tian Fei. At the same time, Tian Fei's colleague Xiao Lu, a new college graduate, has fallen in love with Tian Fei and is determined to snatch him. As emotions become more tangled, Tian Fei cheats and Xiao Lu fakes a pregnancy to force Tian Fei to marry her. He leaves Xiao Yi, not knowing that she is actually pregnant. Stats: 20 Episodes / 2013 Thoughts: The synopsis doesn’t mention Dennis Oh’s character, Hou Zi, at all, but believe me, we’re all here for him. Hou Zi pretty much fell for Xiao Yi at first sight, and after she disappears because of the pregnancy, he’s still holding a torch for her years later when he finds her again. The nice thing is that even though we as the audience know that he fully intends to be marry her(he’s says so himself to his sister), he’s never pushy with her or overbearing. He’s her best friend until she needs him to be something else. The only downside of this drama is the second lead couple, Tian Fei and Lulu. Their scenes are just them fighting constantly. Tian Fei’s mother is also a gross human being so fast forward through their scenes and you’re golden. Score: 8.0/10
Title: Boss and Me Synopsis: Big conglomerate president Feng Teng has a younger sister, with a very rare blood type, who needs a transfusion. He finds an employee at his company named Xue Shan Shan and asks her for a blood donation. Afterwards brother and sister are rather indebted to Shan Shan, but rather than using Feng Teng's typical method of paying her off, his sister suggests sending her nutritious packed lunches so Shan Shan can recover from the blood loss and to make the thank you more personal. Shan Shan loves to eat and her enjoyment of the lunches, along with her general bright and sunny personality, slowly start melting cold Feng Teng's heart.... Stats: 33 Episodes / 2014 Thoughts: This was a cute drama, though it suffers from the cliche of the ‘poor girl isn’t accepted by the rich guy’s family’. I’m sorry the 21st century began almost two decades ago and that idea is so played out. :/ Score: 7.5/10
Title: Let’s Go Watch the Meteor Shower Synopsis: Chu Yu Xun is a very clever and smart high school girl. Her dream is to get into the prestigious Aliston University, in which she managed to get in with her uncle's help. Murong Yun Hai, Duanmu Lei, Shangguan Rui Qian, and Ye Shuo are the four richest students in the university, and they became the idol of all the girls there. These guys are not happy with their lives their parents planned for them. They perform a series of pranks to get attention from the headmistress to expel them from the university. Yu Xun fights for justice for the victims of the group and she becomes their instant target, trying all sorts of methods to expel her. Meanwhile, Yu Xun gets protection from Duanmu Lei, who was her childhood friend. Through fighting and arguing, Yun Hai starts to fall in love with Yu Xun but faces numerous rejections. H4 and Yu Xun eventually become friends. Through hardship, they all grew up and learned to control their own lives, chose their own futures, and to strive for their dreams. Stats: 36 Episodes / 2009 Thoughts: Alright, let’s be real. This is a total rip off of Hana Yori Dango/Boys over Flowers. Allegedly the production company didn’t want to shell out for the rights, so they just made this drama, which is similar but different enough to stave off a lawsuit. I remember watching this a few years ago and actually enjoying it, but I recently went to revisit it and I wasn’t as enamoured. I’d recommend this for new drama watchers, but not necessarily for seasoned drama fans. Score: 7.2/10
Title: Pretty Li Hui Zhen Synopsis: Li Hui Zhen used to be gorgeous, but years of declining family fortune added much pain to her life, and her looks slowly drifted away. Her friend Bai Hao Yu, on the other hand, was once an ordinary looking guy and grew up to be suave, successful, and immensely likable. So when she comes across him years later and witnesses their reversal of fortune, Li Hui Zhen is too embarrassed to even meet him and instead asks her stylish friend and roommate Xia Qiao to assume her identity. Stats: 40 Episodes / 2017 Thoughts: So let’s skip over the fact that Dilreba Dilmurat is probably one of the prettiest peeps on the planet and that the producers apparently think that putting freckles on her and making her hair curly somehow makes her ‘ugly’ . . . This drama was way too freaking long. That being said, I really did enjoy the interactions between Hui Zhen and her bff as well as enjoying Zhang Bin Bin’s acting as always. Score: 7.0/10
Title: Scarlet Heart 2 Synopsis: Zhang Xiao is a southerner, who moved to Beijing working as an OL, with dreams of romance and a stable job. By coincidence, she gets a job at a conglomerate ‘Zhen Tian'. Like all newbie, she’s bullied and stepped on, the saving grace is her boss Yin Zheng. As she gets the hang of it, she and Yin Zheng develops mutual feelings for each other, when a gentle, considerate guy Kang Xi Hang steps into Zhang’s world. Yin Zheng, Kang Xi Hang both are fore-runners in next in line inheriting the firm. Zhang is twirled into the eye of the corporate battles. After twists and turns, Zhang finally realizes where her heart is at, and bravely chooses to spend her future with her true love. Stats: 35 Episodes / 2014 Thoughts: This is the sequel to the time-travel drama Scarlet Heart(which is on my historical master list), but the drama literally throws that all away in the first couple of episodes by making the lead character forget that ever happened. This is a really crazy drama that is totally all over the place, and the only reason i would recommend it is that the two leads, Cecilia Liu and Nicky Wu, are actually married IRL so their chemistry is totally real. Score: 6.8/10
Title: I Love My President Though He is a Psycho Synopsis: Shi Xiao Nian is a third-rate cartoonist living an ordinary life. Until one day Gong Ou, a rich CEO of an IT company, suffering from paranoid personality disorder, captures her and asks her to return their child, which she “supposedly” gave birth to 3 years before. He utilizes every mean to force an answer and to pursue her, including low-EQ techniques. But as he faces her gentleness and courage, they fall in love… Stats: 10 Episodes / 2017 Thoughts: I tried watching this, but the subs were very poor and so while I could get the gist, it was hard to enjoy . . . well that and the fact that the male lead is literally a psycho. The guy is straight up disturbed—I mean padded walls and pills in a cup disturbed. His family is rich so he’s able to do illegal things like kidnapping and torturing women without consequences. He can act normal when he needs to but underneath that, he’s completely unhinged. He ends up falling for the girl he kidnapped, but of course we have to throw in the cliche of his family not accepting her like ‘wtf, your son is crazy! Take what you can get!’ Score: 6.0/10
Title: Stay With Me Synopsis: Li Wei Wei is a 30-year-old successful fashion designer. But a near-drowning makes her lose the memory of the past seven years of her life. In her current life, Wei Wei is surprised to learn that she had broken up with her boyfriend, Chen Yi Du, and is now engaged to a man she does not remember, Qi Cheng. Unable to believe her life choices, Wei Wei tries to find out whatcaused her to break up with Yi Du while Qi Cheng tries to win back his fiancée’s heart. Which man is Wei Wei’s one true love? Stats: 38 Episodes / 2017 Thoughts: I went into this drama expecting to like it because it has Wang Kai starring and I loved him in Nirvana in Fire, but after this drama and ‘When a Snail Falls in Love’, I’ve discovered that the man has no range. He was perfectly cast in Nirvana in Fire, but now he’s just doing the same thing over and over. Joe Chen on the other hand, used to be one of my favorite actresses, but whoever is picking her scripts the last couple of years isn’t doing her any favors. Her character here is whiny, manipulative, and just straight up unlikeable. This drama was boring and I quit it after like five episodes. Score: 2.0/10

Some people more easily to has the magpie when they playing games. That means they are enjoyable in the collecting things. That can be really obvious for the audience for Onmyoji. As previously said, Onmyoji has many different forms to play with. Collecting different monster and onmyoji, different cloth of then, and the different mitama (the tool that can make monster stronger) for those monsters will be the goal of those magpies. And players in the game also can collect different picture frame of them own. Those elements can be collected by play the game and overcome some hard level of the game. Player will get the new element by getting the achievement. Each time players want to abstract the monster, they will need one ticket or 100 magatamas. But the way to getting ticket and magatama is hard and slow, for the additional of the scarcity of great monsters, to getting higher level and being strong than the other players is really hard. So some people will choose another way that is using the money to buy the ticket from the store of the game. For those magpies, they want to use quicker way to collecting all the monsters, but the explode rate of SSR is really low, the official game company does not give the explode rate of SSR, but some players have tested it and get the conclusion: There is no more than 1% to get an SSR. So people will spend lots of money and still hard to collect them all. And the WebEase add new monsters and mitama continuity, so it will be a game that has no ending properly.
There are some extremely events that show those players that have magpie or trying to get the monster that they want. A player named White Wolf post one image of his collection of monsters. He got all of the monsters and systems shows that he has spent 10.56 billion yuan (about 211 thousand Canadian Dollar) until that time. And he also posts image of SSR that he have by types. He said he at least has more than 220 SSR monsters, compare with the explode rate of SSR monsters we can roundly count out how many tickets that he bought.
It is not one case of the player spend lots of money on this game, there are also many images collected. The number shows on the picture are the amount of money that player spend. (Yuan)

To sum up, the successful of Onmyoji is necessary, because it meets the demand of Chinese mobile game players. On the contrary, we can say, is the player of Onmyoji make the game successful. After the analysis of Onmyoji’s players, we found that they has the features of the lover of the mobile game, and they pursuing the high quality of the game environment and various forms of game experience. WebEase satisfies this with the rarely topic, beautiful gaming environment, familiar voice actors and famous composition. And those advantages also meet the requirement of the lovers of Japanese Styling. They can dress as their favorite characters in the real world, and communicate with people that have the same hobbit. The age of players in the Onmyoji is younger because the offline event always gathering lots of young people around. Although there is good to have a high quality and creative mobile game to spend time, but it can become the disadvantages in some ways. For people who likely having magpie to collecting things in a game, it might be spending too much money on the game. And the different forms of the game will attract spend too much time on that. They can not easy to control themselves play the game in a limited time.

Audience studies can explore the richness and complexity of audiences’ engagement with visual materials while paying attention to social power relation. They can also offer reflexive accounts of the research process. However, the specificity of visual materials can be lost in more sociological accounts of audiencing. (Rose, G. (2016). Visual methodologies. Place of publication not identified: Sage Publications.). That means because the limitation of visual materials, it might not get completed feature for audiences. For example, some people that do not eat fast food will not likely to go to KFC. Because the high quality of the game, some company might do research for the game and they do all the same things as other normal players. We cannot recognize the job of them by just take limited types of images. So getting more categories of audiences, at the different place and time, analysis the sociological for the audience might be able to help researchers get the more accurately answer.
