----- TARYN can't help but wheeze at the suggestion, immediately knowing who this messenger just recommended for her to date.
" ιт'ѕ вecaυѕe oғ υѕ вoтн вeιng redнeadѕ, ιnnιт? " She's muffling full-blown laughter behind her hand, totally blown away by the suggestion.

I actually think a lot about Betty and how open she is about her emotions, and I think it’s important to compare and contrast her openness in the comics vs. in the show! I think, in both verses, she’s open to a certain extent, but in different ways!
IN THE SHOW: Betty might be holding in all the “ugly” emotions, but she doesn’t restrain certain reactions. I think she’s a very facially expressive person? When she reacts, sometimes she literally can’t stop it from showing on her face. It’s actually so funny to me. Instances of this can be seen when Cheryl slides in beside her, when Veronica asks if everyone at school knows about what happened with her dad, etc. It’s refreshing for me to think that while she may hide her anger, and her frustration, she’s still so open about certain things, and she doesn’t have it in her to be naturally closed off? She’s just been conditioned to hide the “ugly” parts of her.
IN THE COMICS: Betty can be dramatic af. As anyone who plots with me knows, I base Betty’s personality primarily on the rebooted Betty & Veronica, with accents from Archie and the old comics, too! In the old comics, it was often that when someone did something for Betty, something sweet (think Veronica giving choosing her over Archie, or that time Jughead said “if I had to be with a girl, it would be you, Betty Cooper”) you can see in the panel the tiny tear trickling down her cheek. This leads me to believe that Betty is an emotional person when it comes to unexpected gestures of kindness. They mean a lot to her, and so when they happen, they have an effect on her. Her cheeks will flush a little, her eyes will glass over, and maybe a tear or two will drop if she’s really moved by it. The girl is a romantic optimist (ha, like mun like muse!) and it shows! Other than that, in the newer comics, like I said, she can be dramatic. Her indignation comes with a brick-red face and yelling and swearing and it’s a fantastic thing to bear witness too!
In conclusion, Betty is someone who feels strongly, and in different ways within the verses. She’ll show it with a mixture of body language (clenched fists? bleeding palms??) and the way she speaks. Obviously some of the points mentioned above overlap into the other verses; I just wanted to map them out for myself and anyone who may be interested!
