Fandom: Seele is a lesbian. Her interactions with Bronya prove it, she picks on her all the time, and then also sticks around longer than she has to, yadda yadda... Me: Have you seen her fuss over Luka in his SQ? I'd suggest taking a look at it. You guys ship M/M ships for barely even being in the same trailer.

I don’t understand, not defending Lily, but why would Disney payed people to advertise “LOOK WE HAVE A GAY CHARACTER” but literally bearly on anything else to undermine it
While yes, they could be paying, you have to remember that Disney is so big, that everything they do, someone is probably watching and already writing or wrote something about it, no matter how big or small for the clicks
consider the timing of when any article like that were published, barely before the movie was already out on the same weekend where one of Disney biggest franchise (Wakanda forever) was going to be out in the cinema. this movie was barely given any help as it was and then it was put to compete against a Marvel movie fans have been waiting for years? there's no way that's fair. think too about all other ocassion in which "first openly gay disney character" happened to be announced. it wasn't just one article, it was a lot of them at once, all talking about how "one source" (we're talking about the same company that didn't even let actors to know the full story of what movie they were doing to avoid spoilers, does it sound reasonable to think they'd let "a source" to babbler everything without their okay?) telling all about this character and reminding people to go watch the movie. what's the difference between then and now? as you should know, that all those "openly gay characters" were easily forgettable with scenes of merely seconds, didn't even had any lines, were edited out entirely or you'd only know they were gay at all because someone said so. but with strange world they can't do that so they have to keep quiet enough while at the same time pretend like they care. why bother at that point, you might ask. because they're queerphobic but they did wanted some kind of profit, so they bet on those pinkwashed dollars to come give them something for the trouble while the rest of their more conservative audience ignores it completely and the loud rest goes on about how kids shouldn't be watching it at all because it has gays on it. they're playing to both teams, so to speak, but it's pretty clear where their favourites ultimately are and it's not with the queers. disney only wants from us our money, but the less they have to see us or hear from us all the better so it doesn't ruin their "all family friendly" brand. as to why make the movie at all if they never planned to let it succeed... i don't know. with treasure planet we find out later that disney was practically strong armed by their biggest animators into letting them do the movie, after they already gave disney it's renaissance, so the company didn't want to make the movie in the first place and then did nothing to advertise it either. maybe a similar situation like that happened here or something else entirely. i guess we won't ever know until the creators come out to reveal what happened. i just think that assuming that the queer content on the movie had nothing to do with this treatment is absurd, considering all the other times that Disney has indeed do it's best to hide queer content and it was only the employees insisting that allowed that rep to exist at all. what we do for sure know is that those kind of articles are good publicity for the kind of people who even cares about gay characters existing, be it for better or for worse, and Disney has let Strang World down in a way they haven't done since... Treasure Planet. the dots are all there, LO just refuses to make the connection.

Cracking the Code of Conversion: Turning Clicks into Customers with Digital Marketing
Tumblr media
Businesses battle for clicks, those valuable interactions that indicate someone has expressed interest, in today's digitally first society. The fact is, however, that clicking won't cover all of the expenses. Whether it's a purchase, a newsletter signup, or a request for further information, every company must turn those clicks into significant actions. Digital marketing is based on the art and science of conversion. So, how can companies figure out the conversion code?
This article examines the tactics that assist close the gap between infrequent internet users and devoted clients, offering practical advice on how companies can optimize their online visibility and convert visitors into sales.
In the context of digital marketing, what is conversion?
To put it simply, a conversion occurs when a person on social media or a website completes the activity you want them to. This could entail buying something, signing up for an email list, downloading an eBook, or scheduling a demo, depending on your objectives. The ultimate indicator of success is the conversion rate, or the proportion of users that complete the intended action. Your conversion rate is 5% if you have 100 visits to your website and five of them buy something. However, what motivates someone to select "Buy Now"? And why do so many individuals peruse without making a commitment? Businesses must comprehend and maximize the journey from curiosity to conversion if they want to prosper in the cutthroat digital market.
Step 1: Know Your Audience Like a Friend
You must understand your visitors' personalities and motivations in order to convert them. Online, people are inundated with alternatives; personalization can help them go through them. Here's where having a thorough understanding of your audience is crucial. Construct buyer personas: Make thorough profiles of your ideal clients that include their demographics, hobbies, and problems. • Chart the Customer Journey: Determine the points of contact between the initial interaction with your brand and the conversion. You can better direct consumers if you comprehend each step—awareness, contemplation, and choice.
• Divide Up Your Audience: No two clients are alike. You can provide pertinent material that directly addresses the needs of your audience by breaking them up into smaller groups according to factors like location, tastes, or behavior. Takeaway: It's easier to develop marketing experiences that connect with and motivate your audience the better you understand them.
Step 2: Create Landing Pages that Convert
The digital counterpart of a storefront window is your landing page. Since it's the first thing guests see, they will leave if it doesn't catch their eye. The purpose of a well-designed landing page is to encourage trust and direct users to convert. • Explicit and Strong Value Idea: Explain what makes your product unique. Why should someone pick you instead of a rival? • Attention-Grabbing Headlines: Make sure your headlines are succinct, understandable, and captivating. They must to make clear right away the benefits that your product or service provides. • Call-to-actions (CTAs) that are optimized: CTAs such as "Shop Now" or "Get Started for Free" ought to be noticeable and welcoming. Make use of language that encourages visitors to take action and convert.
• Social Proof: By including case studies, reviews, or testimonials, you can reassure visitors that your product has helped other people. Consumers place greater trust in user reviews than in brand assurances. • Speed Is Important: Research indicates that a mere one-second lag in page loading can cause a 7% decrease in conversions. Make sure your page loads fast on all devices.
Pro tip: Use A/B testing to test several landing page designs and determine which layout, text, or CTA style your audience responds to the most.
Step 3: Leverage SEO and Content Marketing to Drive Intentional Traffic
Getting traffic is vital, but when the correct kind of visitors—those who are actually interested in what you have to offer—lands on your page, the magic happens. Here's where content marketing and SEO really shine. • Consider User Intent When Optimising: Not all keywords are made equal. Choose and focus on keywords that correspond with the search terms that people are using. When someone searches for "best running shoes for beginners," they are more likely to buy than if they are just looking for shoe information in general. • Produce High-Value Content: Content marketing establishes your business as an authority and fosters trust. Videos, case studies, blog entries, and how-to manuals all provide answers to consumer queries and maintain their interest.
• Lead Magnets: Provide a visitor with something of value, like as a discount code or free eBook, in return for their contact information. This facilitates the nurturing of leads via email marketing efforts. • On-page SEO: Make sure your pages are easily discoverable by paying attention to SEO fundamentals like headers, meta descriptions, and keyword placement.
Step 4: Harness the Power of Email Marketing
One of the best strategies for turning leads into paying customers is email marketing. When done correctly, it enables you to stay in touch with potential customers and guide them through the selection process. Why Personalization Is Important: Using a recipient's name and sending pertinent content boosts trust and engagement. • Automated Campaigns: Configure automated emails for important occasions, such as welcome sequences, abandoned cart alerts, and post-purchase follow-ups. • Captivating topic Lines: Attention is captured by an attention-grabbing topic line. It should arouse interest or convey a sense of urgency. • Exclusive Offers: Email recipients are encouraged to act when unique discounts or early access to products are provided.
Step 5: Retargeting Ads to Re-Engage Potential Customers
Not every visitor to your website or social media advertisement will become a customer right away. Actually, before they feel ready to commit, most people need to interact with a brand several times. Retargeting advertisements can help with this. • Dynamic Product Ads: Encourage users to finish their purchase by retargeting them with advertisements for items they have already seen. Cross-Platform retargeting involves tracking your audience on many sites, such as Instagram, YouTube, and Google searches. • Frequency control: Make sure users aren't annoyed by your advertisements showing up too frequently. Strike a balance between relevance and visibility.
Pro tip: To convey a sense of urgency, use time-sensitive offers in retargeting advertisements.
Step 6: Build Trust with Social Proof and Influencer Marketing
Not every person who visits your website or sees your social media ad will immediately buy from you. In actuality, most people need to engage with a business multiple times before they feel comfortable committing. This is when retargeting ads might be useful. • Dynamic Product Ads: Retarget consumers with ads for products they have already viewed to encourage them to complete their purchase. Tracking your audience across multiple websites, including Instagram, YouTube, and Google searches, is known as cross-platform retargeting. • Control the frequency: Make sure that too many of your ads don't irritate users. Achieve equilibrium between visibility and significance. Pro tip: Use time-sensitive offers in retargeting ads to create a sense of urgency.
Step 7: Use Data to Refine Your Strategy with A/B Testing
Digital marketing requires no guesswork. Data gives you the insights you need to keep improving your strategy. • A/B testing: Examine several iterations of your product descriptions, landing page designs, email subject lines, and calls to action. Conversions can be greatly impacted by little adjustments, such as changing the color or text. • Track Important Metrics: Pay attention to click-through, bounce, and conversion rates. These measurements let you know what is effective and where changes are required. • Behavior Analytics: To see how users engage with your website, use technologies such as heatmaps. This aids in locating places where people become lost or stop using the site.
Keep in mind that conversion optimization is a continuous procedure. Your strategy will remain in line with the changing needs of your audience if you test and adjust it frequently.
Step 8: Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience
A purchase is only the beginning of conversion. Establishing enduring connections that convert first-time purchasers into recurring clients and brand evangelists is the aim. • Smooth Checkout Process: Provide guest checkout choices, a variety of payment alternatives, and unambiguous shipping information to make it simple for customers to finish their purchases with the least amount of hassle. • Proactive Customer Support: Respond quickly to inquiries and address problems by email, chatbots, or live chat. • Post-Purchase Engagement: To maintain the relationship, send thank-you emails, product maintenance advice, or tailored suggestions. • Promote Referrals: Your finest marketers can be satisfied customers. Put in place referral schemes that compensate them for bringing in new clients.
Final Thoughts: Mastering the Art of Conversion
It takes both art and science to figure out the conversion code. Businesses must optimize every touchpoint, foster trust at every stage of the customer experience, and combine creativity with data-driven insights.
The most important lesson? Understanding individuals is more important to conversion than simply clicking. You can construct a path that converts inquisitive visitors into devoted consumers by combining tailored marketing, captivating content, smooth user experiences, and ongoing optimization.
Brands that are adept at conversion are the ones who prosper in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Making every click matter and turning attention into action are more important than merely increasing traffic.

I think the ultimate source of my frustration is a bunch of external factors that I have little to no control over.
There's been this push in the publishing industry for writers to self advertise. The writers get more creative control over their work, and the publisher spends less money on advertising. I've heard that publishers won't sign you on unless you have already have a large audience, large enough to ensure a return on their 'investment'. I'm sure this is also happening with music, movies, videos games and so on. Companies won't hire you unless you're an internet celebrity. The thing is, that's bullshit. This doesn't create better art, it just gate keeps people like me, who do not have a single advertising bone in their body. Also, I've spent hours of my life drawing or writing, why do I have to spend even more time advertising? Why do I have to learn a bunch of business skills when I could be perfecting my craft?
There's also no sense of discovery or curiosity on part of the audience. Algorithms keep you in this bubble that's hard to get out of. If you watch a chocolate cake recipe on YouTube, the site will recommend more cake and dessert recipes. Rarely will you get videos like, 'the history of chocolate cake' or the 'how chocolate's made'. There's also these booktok reviewers who're like, 'why does this novel have so many words?' or 'i only read dialogue!' which I take as an indication of the overall public perception on art. Unless something's trendy, easily digestible, similar to another thing they like, or caters to their exact interests, then it's not worth their time. Doesn't matter how much effort you put into it.
So yeah, I think the ultimate point I'm trying to say is: trying to build an audience online is a huge fucking mountain to climb, and knowing that fact doesn't make it any easier or less bullshit.
There are days where I feel like giving up on art entirely.
I turned 30 this year, and I created my DeviantArt account back when I was 14, shortly after I started high school. So for just over half my life, I've been putting my art out into the world, and I have nothing to show for it. I have a handful of posts that get the occasional reblog or like here, but beyond that, nothing. The majority of the art I've posted here barely has any notes. The games I've made have only been downloaded a few dozen times. My social media accounts barely have any followers, despite that from a pure time standpoint, I should have at least a few hundred or a few thousand.
So it is a bit demoralizing to see artists younger than me with 500k followers on Twitter, or getting their dream job in animation. Then there's news articles about 'The Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25!' which don't help either. I am a bit jealous, but mostly demoralized like I said. It feels like I'm doing something wrong. It feels like I'm falling behind. It feel's like everything was a fool's errand and I was just wasting my time.
I know people will say not to compare yourself to others, but that's basically impossible. All this stuff is everywhere. And the most frustrating part is that the only solution to all this is just to keep going. I don't always have the time to jump onto every single art trend that pops up. I don't have the time, energy, or skill to manage and optimize my social media to get maximum engagement. Blazing every piece of art I post here would get expensive real fast. I've even thought about starting drama with random people, but decided against it. Making yourself look like an asshole for clout isn't great in the long run.
So the only solution I can think of is to just keep going. To keep doing what I'm doing. To keep banging pots and pans in the vain hope that someone will notice. But I've been doing that for 16 years of my life, and nobody has noticed me. In the back of my head I think, 'Maybe's it's better to just give up.'
And every time I'm feeling down on my art, I get a little bit closer to actually doing so.

You know, my main problem or concern with the fact that the cast keeps praising the 4th season that much and saying it's gonna be the best one is that at least one fandom , since they'd obviously all get their hopes up , will end up being heavily disappointed and I don't want this particular fandom to be us Byler and/or Will Byers truthers.
I'm just worried that they're talking to those who are part of a hyped and popular fandom, just like the mi/even one. Like: "it's gonna be the best season. You will love it cos there's gonna be so much fan service and we don't wanna lose you so we do the things you expect of us and would like to see in the show..."
We are just a small fan community after all. I'm aware that the Duffers expressed how they wanna do their own thing whether the watchers will like it or not, which would be awesome, but you know, in the end it's money that makes the world go round.
hello anon!
I can totally understand where you're coming from with this concern, We unfortunately are a smaller group of the entire fandom, so worrying that when the cast says it's the best season yet, etc. etc. is panning to the mass audience and not our smaller part of the larger fandom and total audience, is reasonable. I have worried about this too before, that the Duffers will be under extreme pressure from Netflix execs to sacrifice quality & original plans for views, but since they don't seem to be pressuring them to pander to hetero-normativity with Mike & El, I don't think this is going to come into play... ALSO, not pandering to Mike & El, and moving forward with byler, is probably going to benefit them in the long run. Think of the headlines there will be praising them for telling Mike & Will's story, about how great it is there is a gay teen romance in the 80's during the AIDS crisis in a mainstream piece of media... I mean, talk about a smart marketing move. EVERYONE will be talking about it. And ultimately, the hardcore toxic Mike & El Stans are also a small group of people, they're just really loud about how they feel. Most people who watch the show are adults who don't care what relationships the kids are in, that's not why they or most viewers watch the show, so byler or Mike & El being endgame won't make a difference in how they view and like the show.
I don't mean to gloat too much or seem to prideful or vain, but our little group of byler truthers and Will byers has powers truthers, and all the other stuff we advocate for, seem to be some of the more evidence based interpretations of the show, that are actually the closest with what we see in the show. With that being said, again, we are a small group. But I think the Duffers are actually part of this group with us :)
You're right that ultimately most things come down to money. I also don't think anyone expected the show to get this big. But Netflix is doing better than ever right now, topping record after record, meaning they are *rolling in money* LOL. If Stranger Things fails, obviously it will be unfortunate for Netflix, but it won't destroy the company by any means. When s3 came out in 2019, it set Netflix records for the most households having watched it, but since then several other shows have topped it, making Netflix even more money, so they can afford to lose some, even if they don't want to LOL. In the industry sometimes people talk about the 8-1 ratio (it might be 7-1 I can't remember rn LOL), where you expect and budget for 8 films to "fail" and lose money, while one succeeds, making back the money for the other 8. So while Stranger Things may have been acting as that "one" that was making back the money before, because of Netflix's success with shows like Squid Games, Bridgerton, etc, and all their movies like Don't Look Up, ST doesn't critically need to be that "one" anymore, because now they have others to fill that spot. And that's not including product placements, most of st3 was paid for by product placements, so Netflix spent little money on it, but made a lot in return.

BIRDGIRL EPISODE 1: "PILOT" (April 4th, 2021)
Review edited for me by Glenn Rolón
This show contains discussion of parental neglect, non-graphic death and a hidden severed foot in a bag.
So, funny story, 21 years ago I was 5 years old watching the beginnings of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Was I too young for it? Absolutely. But also it was like, the least inappropriate thing on Adult Swim I actively watched all through its run until I was 12 years old, so it's held a special place in my heart ever since.
All of that is to say, having seen that show is kind of unnecessary to understanding this episode. Which I would hope, given this is a spinoff of a show that began 21 years ago, ended officially 14 years ago, and had its last one-off special 3 years ago.
Birdgirl starts us off with Judy Ken Sebben/Birdgirl finishing up her day job, ordering ramen takeout while venting through the call about how her passions are more with her other life as Birdgirl than with her normal life as Judy, which is the perfect set up for the ultimate point of the episode. It then rushes forward into Birdgirl's fast paced action and awkwardness-heavy night, showing how much more excited Judy feels to do that than her lawyer day job. Though it also shows how RECKLESS she is as Birdgirl.
Judy completely ignores the giant signs of her father's death, seemingly out of cluelessness to the audience as its presented.
But longtime watchers of Harvey Birdman will already know he's faked his death multiple times, a point that's brought up when Judy goes to work the next day and is called into the meeting for the CEO Replacement. In which its revealed that her father (who believes Birdgirl and Judy are different people) chose Birdgirl to be the CEO while giving Judy the majority stocks in the company, setting off the real point of the episode, and possibly series: Judy's entire mental disconnect with herself. She feels distraught that her father saw Birdgirl as CEO material and not her more personal, calmer self.
Because she can't bring herself to grieve over her father yet again after the previous times, she goes fully into denial spending more of her time as Birdgirl and neglecting her personal life.
Which brings the concern of the friend she makes with Meredith the Mindtaker, a green telepath played by Negin Farsad.
Meredith is very empathetic despite calling herself "bad at emotions", which might be a side effect of her powers. Speaking of, to make a mental note, I find it refreshing that her powers are treated very intentionally not-invasively as possible, only using them to give therapeutic advice to Judy or physically stopping her to get her to listen. The biggest "misuse" is just her joking to finish Judy's sentences, which while annoying, isn't the same as forcing her way deep into Judy's insecurities she won't admit to herself.
Birdgirl's humor is dry and not scored by music or heavy sounds, aside from the absurdity of Birdgirl's incompetence at fighting crime in denial of her father's death; which is still underplayed compared to other examples I've seen.
The character design feels fitting as a continuation to Harvey Birdman while just being pleasant to look at, while also animating probably better overall than the original or a show with a similar vibe and style like Archer.
I really like how Birdgirl's eyes go from superhero cartoon/comic book white to showing her eyes like a live action adaptation whenever she'll be speaking honestly from the heart while in the mask instead of in denial.
One thing that might become obvious the longer you watch the episode is that, unlike Harvey Birdman, Birdgirl seems like it's not allowed to use Hanna Barbera/MGM/Cartoon Network characters freely, which may explain the abscence of a few old key characters, not showing or mentioning Harvey Birdman, and the fact one of the board members is a cartoon dog that might've been Droopy had they been able to. I don't think this hinders the show at all, but it is noticeable considering the show it spun off from. Might be Warner wanting to keep some characters clean while they try to use them in kid appropriate material like Space Jam: A New Legacy.
Birdgirl is a very calm show, definitely meant for teenagers and older — With the exploration of Judy's personal, mental and emotional struggles brought on by her father's neglect of her when she wasn't being reckless as Birdgirl. However, everything else is very tame; there's fewer than 5 bleeped swears, fewer than 3 mentions of sex and despite there being a people eating machine in this episode, it shows no real gore unlike another show with the same TV-14 Rating.
Birdgirl is for adults not in the sense that it has content inappropriate for children, but in the sense that its story, which seems to be ongoing, deals with issues that are only really relatable to people who are old enough. Despite human waste (heh) being a part of the episode, it doesn't ever feel "immature" in the way that poster child shows like Family Guy or Rick and Morty can feel, or even Tuca and Bertie, which is very mature with an important story, but goes for more crass jokes.
If you're a fan of stories with a woman-centric cast and dry humor, I'd recommend it to you. If you're more into the superhero stuff, I can't say I'd recommend it to you until more episodes have come out for a better gauge of where the show's boundaries will be.
Overall, Birdgirl is an enjoyable superhero empathy ride I hope to see more of and I'm glad I checked out.

Website Design And Applications
According to Weinberg's law, a developer is inadequate to evaluate his or her code. After you've serviced a site for couple of weeks, you can't observe it from a fresh perspective any longer. You understand exactly how it is constructed and as a result you understand specifically just how it works-- you have the knowledge independent testers and also site visitors of your website wouldn't have. With conventions you can gain individuals' confidence, https://seo-marketing-2022.blogspot.com/2022/08/constructing-your-social-media.html trust, dependability and show your trustworthiness. Comply with individuals' expectations-- recognize what they're expecting from a site navigation, text structure, search placement etc . In his documents on efficient visual communication, Aaron Marcus specifies three basic concepts involved in using the supposed "noticeable language"-- the material users see on a display.
Numerous big public as well as economic sector IT firms have in-house layout departments.
Your users should be able to conveniently navigate with your internet site without coming across any kind of structural issues.
This impacted the web design market, pressing it in the direction of minimalistic, lightened as well as simplistic design.
Instead, the majority of Internet Designers working in the field now discovered various other means to build out their skills.
This has actually ultimately raised rate of interest in internet typography, along with the use of font downloading.
Posting a feature that doesn't work reliably is possibly even worse for the customer experience than making no effort. It relies on the target audience if it's most likely to be needed or worth any kind of dangers. User understanding of the content of a web site frequently relies on customer understanding of just how the website functions. Customer experience is related to format, clear guidelines as well as labeling on a web site.
Desire Layout Tips & Business Fads And The Occasional Promo In Your Inbox?
Prevent cute or clever names, marketing-induced names, company-specific names, as well as unfamiliar technical names. For example, if you define a service and also want customers to create an account, "join" is better than "begin now! Twitch Safety Tools for Smaller Streamers
Tumblr media
Hate raids, doxxing, and follow bots are not a new thing on Twitch, but their reach and domination is increasing. More and more these things are affecting smaller streamers who never expected anything like this to happen to them. Especially now with the identity tags, marginalised folks with upwards of 10 viewers need to be on their guard and are scared to go live.
By no means do I think it should be the responsibility of the streamer to try and protect ourselves from this level of danger, especially when Twitch is owned by one of the most powerful companies in the world. However, at the moment looking after ourselves is the only option if we can't or don't want to leave the platform.
If you would like to read my thoughts on the current state of Twitch you can read them here. This post will just be going through my tips and tutorials for safety measures on Twitch without spending money or having a huge mod team.
Of course there are loads of tools out there, I'm not saying these are the ultimate ones but the ones I have found easy and useful.
Hate Raid Button
The number one thing that has helped me avoid the worst of hate raids is my hate raid button. You may have heard of the pricy hardware Stream Deck. Well there's a much cheaper way to achieve it to allow you to have useful moderation tools, change scene, and do all sorts of things at the touch of a well labelled button! I use Deckboard which is free, or £2.79 for the Pro version with more buttons. I use an old tablet to run mine, but you could use a phone or just run it on your computer.
Tumblr media
I won't give a full tutorial of how to use it here as it is pretty self explanatory (although let me know if that is something you would want!), but I will talk you through the hate raid button I have made as it's a little more complicated.
Click an empty spot to make a new button, and name it what you want.
In the action menu select "multi actions" and press the button below "open editor".
Click "add action" then "Clear Chat" action
Click "add action" then Subscribers or Followers only.
Click "add action" then "Send Chat". In the "send" box spam an emote code 100 or more times (remember to put spaces!). This is so if any viewers have BTTV and doesn't get chat cleared, any nasty messages will be removed from their view.
If you can separate your follow alerts from your other alerts and make them two separate browser sources. Then you can click "add action" then "toggle source" and select each of your scenes that have alerts and then your follow alerts. When you press the button it will turn off your follow alerts so all the nasty usernames don't show up on your screen. If you can't separate your alerts, just select your alerts source on each scene.
Do the same if you have your chat on screen. Use "toggle source" to turn off on screen chat on any scene you have it.
Commander Root Blocklist
By now you've probably heard of Commander Root, and it's ups and downs. And while I use it and find it very useful, there are risks in using it. So I will explain it's uses and risks here.
I use Commander Root for it's blocklist manager. You can paste in lists of usernames to block, or select "block all known bot accounts" to block every bot on their list. This not only bans the accounts from your channel, but stops them from following you at all. And unlike on twitch, it can do huge lists at once rather than you having to go one by one.
You do this by pressing the green button "add new blocks" and then paste your list in the text box, or press "block known bot accounts".
Tumblr media
I haven't had any problems with Commander Root blocklist, and I think it has really helped reduce my amount of hate raids. However, it is not recommended by Twitch and many people have had problems with it.
One problem you shouldn't ever have is losing all your followers. This is a problem with Commander Root's follower remover which I recommend staying well away from if you want to keep your legit followers.
However, Commander Root's blocklist can get you shadow banned from Twitch, meaning that you can only chat in channels where you're a mod or VIP for a while. Like I say this hasn't happened to me, but it can happen so it is your choice if you want to take that risk.
Another mild issue is, once you have used the blocklist tool once, it can take ages to load the page again. But, be patient! It will load eventually.
Twitch's offered alternative is that when you do get hate raids to clip them and report them to twitch. Twitch will then remove those accounts from the site altogether. This does work, amazingly! But I am not a fan of it as a method, as I want prevent hate raids not put a bandage on it after it happens. That said, plenty of people have had success with this method after waiting a couple days, so it is a good option if you don't want to risk the shadow ban.
Running a Mod Team
If you can, it is good to have a small mod team even if you don't have a huge audience. It means that if there is any trouble it doesn't need to throw you off what you're doing. Here are a few tips for running a mod team.
Make sure you have clear, easily accessible guidelines for your mods to follow. Mods are less likely to take action in a difficult situation if you don't explain to them what you would like them to do. By telling them something simple to follow like "we have a 3 strike system, break the rules once is a warning, twice is a time out, and three times leads to a ban" makes it so much easier for them to do their job. Explain your rules to your mods and why you have them so they can better understand how to protect your space.
Make sure your mods are people you can trust with that responsibility. If you're thinking of taking on mods you don't know so well, I recommend making an application form with questions like "why do you want to be my mod?" and "what important things do mods do?" so you know that they are there to be responsible.
Communicate with your mods. Make sure you have a group chat where they can talk about what's happening on stream and ask questions about mod procedures. If you would like them to do something differently, tell them! They're not psychic.
Treat your mods with huge respect! They are doing hard work for free and they don't owe you anything. If they can't make a stream, need a break, or just aren't feeling it for a little while you should affirm and respect that. Treat your mods to fun games nights or treats every now and again so they feel valued!
I hope you can find this useful! If you have any questions feel free to leave them in replies, or tweet at me on @PytharGames! If you would like to support my work and keep it free for everyone, you can tip or subscribe to support here.
