March has been a very challenging month for me — from the first 2 weeks where my mom was admitted to the hospital while me & my brother stayed by her side; to my mom passing away later on due to kidney failure. During those times I asked for help & received a lot of doodle commissions. Since the past weeks have been pretty busy and difficult for me & my brother, I've been trying to pace myself so that I could go through them slowly.

I don't have any other source of income and since I can't take new commissions at the moment, I've put up 3 PDF doodle compilations in my ko-fi shop to help fund me & my brother's budget for our needs & expenses.

Polaroid/Photographs - Gimme some Frank and Hawk and/or Trap having an unexpected moment about something, maybe

Oh my god. Okay, so. I did manage to stick to the 1k-ish wordcount I set for myself but trust me when I say I struggled to keep it short because OH MY GOD was this the perfect prompt for my state of mind at the time!? Thank you so much for sending this in, genuinely! I love writing me a gen fic with a bit of angst and comedy mixed in.

McIntyre jolts ever-so-slightly at the photo tumbling out of the letter in his hands as he unfolds it. The motion alerts the rest of The Swamp’s inhabitants: a curious Hawkeye Pierce and a Frank Burns who’s trying hard not to be. The former jumps off his bed, martini glass still in hand, and skulks about the tent behind his friend, looking over his shoulder at the letter. 

The picture formerly enclosed, which McIntyre had caught before it fell to the floor, seems to have given him incentive to smile. Frank assumes it’s something pornographic or deranged, but still cannot hide his desire to know for sure. While McIntyre observes the picture, the pride of a father illuminating his handsome face, Pierce perches his head on top of the shoulder he’d looked over and reads the letter itself. He startles Frank with one of his unbelievably loud laughing fits and throws himself over a chair so he can kick his feat to boost the sentiment. 

“What, Hawk, what ?” McIntyre wonders, immediately setting the picture aside and pulling the letter closer is if that’ll make him read it faster. Soon enough, he, too, is laughing his ass off, to Frank’s complete and total disdain. 

He feels left out. He’s always either the butt of the joke or out of it entirely, never part of it. He thinks about how he’d rather be in Margaret’s arms right now, cradled near her bosom and stumbling his way into somehow being allowed to touch her. Oh, Margaret. Why couldn’t she be his roommate? Why was the world always against him? Perhaps Pierce and McIntyre are right when they say that no good deed goes unpunished. He is, after all, a doer of many good deeds. He always reports to headquarters and obeys orders like no other man alive. If these aren’t good deeds then he doesn’t know what is. 

“Oh, Louise, what has she done !” McIntyre exclaims in-between giggles and chortles. “I told ‘er readin’ the letters to ‘em was a bad idea.”
