i know i talk a lot about how well amelia, roman and marzell all get along. and they do, they are all very close but they can and do irritate the hell out of each other just for funsies. also amelia is the youngest sibling / cousin so she is absolutely the worst when it comes to doing this

as a royal, it is laurent's duty to know of other royals, closely related or otherwise. he hasn't met them all, of course, as that would take a majority of his lifetime, but he knew of them. and noticing the crown princess amelia lockridge speaking to those around the ball, with those surrounding seeming not to know of her title, both surprised and amused the prince quite a bit. he had no chance to hide his identity, the queen insisting that he be out and proud ( most likely hoping that those who now knew of his status would throw themselves at him ). surly, if he had done as amelia does now, laurent may be having a much happier time.

practically gliding through the crowd, laurent bows his head a bit toward amelia, knowing gleam in his eyes as he gazes down at her. 'you seem to be enjoying yourself this evening,' only when their area is clear does he murmur beneath his breath, 'don't worry - i promise to not to reveal your true identity before you are ready,' laurent grins then, taking a sip of his lemonade. @wornkindness / sc.

     This was never a place he thought he would be. Despite the current state of things, he was lucky, he knew, to be able to see his former Padawan grow and settle into himself. It was hard to not have a small sense of pride. Different as they always had been, different as they still were. No longer was there a tight knot in his chest caused by worry that he as a teacher might fail his pupil, even if on occasion the worry still lingered in the back of his mind, like smoke from a blown out candle, not fully gone out yet impossible to catch.

     Then there was the war. The Jedi Master had been against it all from the start, had dug his heels into the dirt and wanted nothing to do with any of it. Eventually however he was convinced, despite the fact he was still vocal about his disdain for it. Yet despite the looming cloud above them all, there was a small glimmer of light. Not from himself but his former Padawan, who normally was so rigid and followed closely to the rules, seemed perhaps to be bending them. Not that Qui-Gon could know for certain, it was very clear everything was all well guarded, even the small glimpses that managed to peak through, like sunlight filtering through leaves. Feelings of warmth and care, and something else, strangely familiar to feelings he had felt from Obi-Wan when he was much younger, a near lifetime ago, yet utterly different.

     Qui-Gon knew it was only because he had once been Obi-Wan’s mentor, had taught him the skills he was now using that the older man was able to at all pick up on it. Even then it had taken time to find the source of it. He still wasn’t completely sure, relying more on knowing Obi-Wan than her. The moment where he caught on had been so quick, Qui-Gon nearly missed it, having only looked up from what he was reading in time to catch it. Obi-wan’s hand briefly brushing against her’s, her watching him leave for a moment longer than anyone else. The moment lasted all but a blink. Amelia Lockridge, a Republic intelligence officer assigned to Obi-Wan’s command. The Jedi Master had one or two interactions with her. She was utterly warm and bright, quick and clever. Yet despite everything he could surmise from her, she somehow gave him nothing to prove what he suspected.

     It was not often they had the chance to work together, and seeing as how Qui-Gon was unsure when he would have the chance to broach the topic again, decided to take his chance now, while he had it. “I tried seeking you out the other day before we departed,” he said lightly, placing a steaming cup of caff in front of the younger man. “Yet no one seemed to know where you were.” There was a slight glimmer of amusement in his eye as he brought his own cup to lips. “Perhaps next time I should ask that intelligence officer of yours–”

but amelia and juniper really are cut from the same cloth, and even though her edges were softened the world made juniper hard and sharp where amelia always stayed soft. but juni is always the first person amelia seeks out for advice or comfort. she pulls a lot in terms of leadership from her father but when it comes to her own strength all of that comes from juniper

remember how buffyverse!amelia being high fae royalty ? drawing from the witcher lore , emerson was kidnapped by the fae - & being in the fae realm as a newborn infected her , making part fae - before coming to our world. it's more complicated , but that is the jist. anyway. we never established if amelia knows she is high fae royalty, or if she knows & just wants to vibe with the normies, but that relation right there could be nifty. faeception , if you will. & for once it isn't amelia being a mother bc they are around the same age ! yay ! we can do something OKAY !

luka lockridge !

gasp ! older cousin ! older cousin who loves nothing more than sculpting & playing the fiddle to make people smile. plays the fiddle so amelia can dance around to her heart's content. second son of a second son & while he may be the spare , he's content with not having such a responsibility thrust on him. he's responsible , somewhat - he's working on it - but at the end of the day he's kind & loyal. he is just a dreamer & forgets that you need to do Grown Up things , too , than just having fun. he 10/10 would've helped her sneak out of lessons so she could go riding & then take the fall for her.

gabriel knight !

could easily fall into the buffyverse. gabriel comes from a long line of demon hunters , or monster hunters , & he kinda tripped & fell into the vocation. he has southern charm & he will hit on her. ( he can be a prick , but he does have a really good heart & is more of a romantic than he'll let on. ) look it's hard not to hit on amelia , or think she's pretty , bc she is !

also officially changing marzell's sw verse from being a jedi to a bounty hunter, it simply works better. i will keep a jedi au for him but it will be separate from the overall lockridge sw verse. also this means now marzell is 10000% is an intelligence source for amelia (there's an actual term for that role but i can't remember what it is)
