the sight of the other female struggling, short of breath with a continuous cough rumbling through her chest, made danbi's heart squeeze with concern - she didn't know jinsol well, having only bumped into the other a handful of times in the hallway outside their apartments, or once or twice in the elevator, but she seemed kind and good-natured, always greeting her when they did stumble upon one another. it didn't sit well with danbi that the other was seemingly unwell, wandering around alone in the maze. and so, she makes a silent vow to get the two of them out of there, hopefully as quickly as possible.

"it's nice to officially meet you," danbi offers up another smile, corners of her mouth stretching as she bends her arm and offers it up to jinsol, inviting the other to link her arm through her own. if they stuck together, surely they would get out of there, and being closer would mean that jinsol wouldn't have to strain her voice so much. "i think we've only bumped into each other here and there, so it's nice to have a proper meeting."

the brunette stares at the fork in the maze for a few moments, taking in jinsol's suggestion - turning right for the sake of it being right seems like the perfect place to start, and danbi nods as they step towards the parted path. "you're right," she agrees, offering up a small giggle a second later at her choice of words. "besides, i've been taking a bunch of left turns since i've been in here, so i think it's time to start looking in the right direction . . . if you know what i mean." another pause as another soft chuckle escapes her, trying to lighten the mood and ease any trepidation prickling between the two of them. "and when we get out of here, let's get you something warm to drink. do you like hot cider?"

frankly, the girl was out of breath from the amount of startling encounters she'd run into throughout the short duration of the maze thus far. she continued to nod at the other, confirming her identity. "yes, yes. han jinsol, that is i." she was awful with jump scares and, frankly, has had enough of them in this maze for a lifetime. there was no way she was making it out of here alone— not when her brain and energy power was only continuing to dwindle with each passing second.

"you are absolutely right! we will!" jinsol shouted loudly. (was she attempting to convince herself of these words or simply block out the noise all around her?) still, she knew screaming would do nothing but keep her stuck in place. now was the time to lock in and focus on the goal of getting out.

"right is always right, right? let's go that way and see where it leads!"

there were a lot of things danbi could consider herself inept with - she had grown a little more uncoordinated than usual, having a tendency to lose her balance here and there as well as have the occasional odd twitch in her limbs, causing her sometimes to take a small spill. and then there was the fact that she had a hard denying others, no matter their odd request or the uncomfortable situation she would be put in as a result of taking on their favors. no matter what happened, the idea of turning them down always weighed heavy on her heart. and certainly, there were some other more negative traits she could elaborate on, but one thing that danbi didn't think she was prior to this afternoon was being cursed with having no sense of direction.

she lets out a small squeal as she nearly collides with the other female, having been wandering around this maze for so long she's lost track of time and become a little disoriented. coming face to face with someone else had surprised her, but she's honestly relieved that the other wants them to team up to find their way out together.

"that's right. you're . . . jinsol, right?" she says gently, knowing the other from neighboring apartment. she's happy to encounter someone she knows, but the relief lasts only for a second before a concerned frown mars her features, listening to the other female cough. danbi reaches out to touch her arm, trying to offer up some reassurance alongside a small smile. "hey, don't push yourself too hard. we'll find our way out of here. we can do it together." she squeezes her gently, turning only to look at a fork in the road before them. "okay, so . . . should we go left or right?"

spookier than anticipated.

going into the maze, jinsol, admittedly, did not have much expectations. she'd always believed the maze to be no different from any other, with the exception of an occasional halloween decoration or standee to match the season's event. but as she'd never participated in years prior, jinsol decided that this fall carnival would be the year!

however, each corner she took proved to be scarier than the last. though she hadn't intended to, jinsol let out a piercing shriek each time she'd bumped into a familiar face by happenstance. each encounter ended with the same shameful apology. it wasn't until the tenth run in (maybe more. truthfully, she'd lost count.) that jinsol decided that her throat had had enough.

"park danbi, was it?" she'd barely managed to speak through her coughs as she attempted cleared her throat. "how do you feel about finding the exit to this thing together?"
