gimme that sweet, sweet emmeline/harry action you know i'm always craving

Hey QUICK INTERJECTION this is the first provenance prompt i’ve ever gotten and i’m in love with you. cool.

Gives nose/forehead kisses → Harry. In part because he is the tol and Emmeline is the smol, but also because he’s a cheeky little shit and loves to fluster her.

Gets jealous the most → Emmeline. Harry is The Boy Who Lived and no matter how much they grow he always has that mantle, and people staring at him, and men and women giggling. She’s always been incredibly insecure, and that generally makes matters worse, even when she knows the fame means nothing to him.

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive → Harry. Not only can Emmeline not drive (she’ll get her license eventually, she’s determined, but she finds driving very nerve-wracking) but she’s also got an incredibly low tolerance. Two glasses of Firewhiskey will have her slipping out of her chair.

Takes care of on sick days → Emmeline. Harry will do his best, of course, but his skills tend to stop after a good can of soup. Emmeline will fret and fuss with all the home remedies she learned as a girl.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day → Emmeline. She loves the water, but grew up far from the shore. She’s ecstatic about being able to go to the beach. She goes for the thrill, Harry goes for the calm.

Gives unprompted massages → Emmeline. Though Harry is more easy with PDA, Emmeline sees it as a personal responsibility to keep his stress at bay. Whether he’s working on schoolwork or Quidditch plans or work for the office, if she notices that he’s getting tense, she’ll usually wander over and massage his shoulder to put him at ease.

Drives/rides shotgun → Harry drives, Emmeline rides.

Brings the other lunch at work → Emmeline. While they are working at the Ministry, she’ll do her best to visit the Auror department on lunch to make sure he hasn’t drowned in paperwork. When they’re both teaching at Hogwarts, it’s not unusual to find them in their old favorite courtyard with a basket of sandwiches. Students are always welcomed to join, and it becomes something of a free tutor period for them.

Has the better parental relationship → HA. Emmeline.

Tries to start role-playing in bed → Harry. Tbqh I don’t see this cropping up often at all. Not that Emmeline is beyond suggesting something new, but I definitely feel like this would be a foreign concept to her. She’s generally more naive in that sense.

Embarrassingly drunk dancer → Harry. And Emmeline. The difference being that Emmeline will dance essentially the same drunk and sober, and Harry is only embarrassing when he is drunk. Largely because the boy has to be drunk before will venture outside of a step-touch and a twirl. 

Still cries watching Titanic → Emmeline. You don’t even have to wait for the sad part. She’ll happy cry through the beginning and sad cry through the end.

Firmly believes in couples costumes → Emmeline. She’s not sure what it is. It’s not necessarily romantic, or that it makes her feel whole. But there’s definitely something about matching Harry in any way that makes her feel happy. Whether it’s matching the colors of their robes or donning Muggle Halloween costumes as inaccurate vampires. It just feels nice to let everyone know she has a partner in crime.

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas → Harry. Not that either of them is particularly careless with their money, but as Harry grew up with virtually no money, he enjoys spending what he does have on people he loves. He knows Emmeline would do the same for him, but he’s hard to shop for because he’s happy with the bare minimum.

Makes the other eat breakfast → Emmeline, technically. It’s a tricky situation, and something Emmeline doesn’t notice until they’re well out of Hogwarts. Harry is very good at making breakfast - delicious scrambled eggs, perfectly cooked bacon, fluffy muffins. But he rarely eats anything he cooks. It takes her a while to realize why, but as soon as she does she threatens to charm him to his chair until he’s eaten his proper share of breakfast. Work be damned if he’s late. She’ll fight his entire department.

Remembers anniversaries → Emmeline. She’s definitely got a brain for the tiniest details, and she remembers a lot further back. Harry always feels bad, but Emmeline doesn’t mind. She assures him it’s just because she’s got “less going on upstairs.”

Brings up having kids → Emmeline. In my head, it’s not for a few years, but earlier than they’d expected. She has something of a pregnancy scare, but doesn’t tell Harry anything until she’s certain of the answer. She decides they need to have a conversation, because her scare was not as scary as she’d thought it would be. Harry’s the one who’s got second thoughts about being a parent. He spent a good portion of his formative years without parental figures, and he’s not sure what a father should do. But Emmeline assures him that’s exactly what’s going to make him the best father a child could hope for.

Again. This got long because it’s my first Provenance prompt. ILY.
