; Verse || The Raven King and the Crow ♟️
Deep beneath a vast, barren ocean lies a sunken ship. Broken and deteriorated, it has long since been abandoned and left to peel and vanish with the unforgiving currents that surround it. The metal is rusting, covered in barnacles and burn marks from an explosion. A building, one who used to sit high and mighty, crumbles and dissolves as if it never existed. But despite all the ruin one thing is certain. A gilded cage sits where the building once was, seeming as if it had split the structure in two to make way for the golden bars that would trap life inside. Welcome to the domain of the Raven King. The Palace of long awaited freedom.
To enter the Palace means finding a way to traverse the water in order to enter the ship. How does one go about entering, though? Perhaps you find a way of transport beneath the waves, or even having to alter the cognition to drain the water. The method of entering is unknown, but to those willing to get inside will surely figure out the way. After all, only those deemed worthy are allowed to pass.
Once inside the ship, a grand entrance hall opens up before you. Statues are broken and eroding in the waterless space. But the smell of briny sea water is still prominent even as you traverse deeper into the maze-like depths of the ship.
The ship is just as empty as the rest of the ocean. There’s no sign of life or Shadows anywhere. There are no cognitive beings to help guide your way as you get lost in the labyrinth of hallways and rooms even though you’re certain you should know the layout. But thankfully there is one creature to help you on your way.
Loki stands before you in the spitting image of Goro. Black and white horns sprout from his head and small red braids twist up into a half ponytail at the back of his head. His outfit is a black and white, fitted, zebra-like suit with the jacket open and a black shirt worn beneath. He sports a pair of golden heels, almost hoof-like, as he stares down at his guests. His smile is sharp and cunning with his fangs, but what lies beneath is a serious concern for his master. He’s still very much apart of Goro’s heart, but has decided to rip himself free to aid those who wish to further themselves into the Palace –––– to find the cage. After all, who knows the way to the center of the heart but the heart themselves?
Upon finally entering the cage, you’re met with a sight that you weren’t able to parse from the outside. The cage is teeming with life. It’s like a little kingdom with stone walkways and wooden/stone buildings. Birds can be heard chirping, and when spotted they’re only ever ravens, and every now and then a crow can be seen with bright red eyes watching your every move.
All the cognitions look like adoring fans, praising the actions and image of the Raven King himself. They love and adore him. It’s all you can hear them rambling about as you pass by. But they’re also quite frightened of Loki, giving his image a wide berth out of fear for who he is. If it bothers Loki he certainly doesn’t show it, instead continuing to guide you towards the massive tree located at the far back of the cage.
To reach the tree you must fight through guards. The Shadows are dark, faceless creatures that blend into the Shadows waiting to attack. They’re quick to ambush anyone that isn’t paying attention, all to protect their king. Anyone who opposes their king must be punished after all.
Reaching the tree, it’s a massive thing. It extends up into the heavens where it’s blanketed in a thick fog. Stairs swirl up the side in a fractured, crystalline spiral staircase. You come to realize that this is the halfway point.
A massive crowd surrounds the base of the tree. Tons of screaming and praises for their king rises into a symphony of adoration. And as you push your way through the crowd you find the source of their eagerness. There at the very base of the tree standing upon a risen platform is the Raven King himself.
The Raven King is another spitting image of Goro. His hair is pulled back in the same fashion as Loki’s with braids tied back into a half ponytail. A fractured black and blue crown sits tilted on the left side of his head. His attire matches the crown with its black and blue hues that embody a similar style to Goro’s princely attire. Belts cross across his chest, arms, waist, and legs. He sports heeled, thigh-high boots and a cape made of raven feathers that clasps with chains across his chest. To finish off the look is a chained choker with a hefty lock sitting at the base of his throat. The image of a raven is engraved beautifully into the metal.
You know this is only the start of this game when Loki lets out a surprised gasp, stepping forward and locking eyes with the king. The king smiles knowingly in Loki’s direction, and Loki lets out a growl before stating:
“This isn’t you, Robin Hood.”
#; Verse || The Raven King and the Crow ♟️#//I love this verse so much it's my baby.#//I don't think I've ever put this much thought and heart into a verse before.#//So I'm just :') I'm really happy right now.#//So if you like it let me know what you think!!#//Also if you get where some of the Palace elements are inspired from you get brownie points!!#//I also don't have any icons of either Loki or the Raven King himself to match my vision.#//So I'll either go iconless for this verse or just use Goro's plain icons and we can use our imaginations. xD
