"Ah!"
Yarne jumps slightly, making eye-contact, crimson eyes glimmering in the low, tangerine torchlight of the event. He liked the festivity - it made people more docile, and less likely to end up going after him for any reason.
And the (ever-tragically inedible) small green herb hangs overhead. Maybe he can try and find some herbal remedy from them at some point, to get into the festive sense...
"Uhm... hi?"
That is... very orange hair. And an... odd outfit.
Oh, Naga, is this a priest? Yarne didn't exactly want to be forcibly converted to Fodlan's goddess, since... well, he'd been brought into this time by Naga. He knew she was real and had power, and didn't want to be rude to her.
"...I like the outfit?"
Yarne tries to breach the silence, pulling at his own uniform - even if he preferred the taguel armor he had (it was one of the few things he could claim to have from his people for it's intended purpose,) he had grown to... not be against the student uniform, especially with the... liberal usage of the different changes he was allowed to make.
Even if the outfit was still not properly fitted for a tall figure such as himself. Ah well.
He was stared at far enough as is.

Pandreo has heard of beastfolk, at the very least from excited infodumps from his sister's fellow retainer. He's met a couple of dragons, even the Divine One - but are they beastfolk? Radiant, illustrious, yes, but perhaps not quite the same. But the next turn of Pandreo's head, he locks gazes with a young man who he can only describe as...furry? And also, terribly skittish, with long ears like a rabbit. A beastfolk, if there ever was one. This party might be a slog, but it's not like he wants anyone to have a bad time. Maybe he can make someone else's night a little better. But if he's learned anything from watching Merrin, it's how not to treat people of other species like dead bugs in a science project. He won't stare, he won't touch. He approaches with soft steps. Is he doing this all wrong? "Hey, how are - "
