“ sully, please! ” it was inevitable that sully would run into the object of stahl's affections, but it was still quite embarrassing to have the scholar interrupt his and sully's training. he had thought himself able to act perfectly natural usually — why, when he was younger, he had been able to hide holding feelings for his friend's lover! — but evidently if that skill ever existed, it no longer was one he possessed.

gods, since when had it become so difficult to not get all nervous around miriel? when he was with the mage, it was at least easy to disguise it by blaming his flushed face and increased pulse on the exercises she had him do, and he had thought he could blame it on having a particularly strenuous sparring session with sully, but even if it managed to convince miriel, (with a dubious eyebrow raise and a jotted down note on some possible concerns before she turned and left to attend her own business) it did little to fool the person he had actually been training with who would very well know he does not get like this just from one bout.

“ you don't need to call me out on it. i assure you i can FEEL myself blushing! can i crawl into a hole please? a hole sounds nice right about now. ” in a bid to avoid letting sully fan the flames further, he tries to turn the tables. “ alright, and how are things going with you? a little birdie has told me you've been spending a lot more time with someone lately. you and libra — what a pair! ”
