I do actually have a lot of thoughts on how hunter is secretly the owl house's subversion of the prince charming trope but any attempt I've made to verbalize them has devolved into lovecraftian rambling

#ramblings of a lunatic #LISTEN. hunter isn't even in my top 5 fav characters technically (tho he ranks 3rd in the hexsquad)#but he's so juicy to tear apart. like a well cooked chicken #luz is the main character lacking in destiny and grand purpose or power who's optimistic people pleasing ultimately fails #eda is the wise old mentor who starts off selfish and messy and ends up undergoing just as much development as Luz #king is the cute animal sidekick who actually has much more pathos and humanity than first expected #+ he's the one with a chosen-one style special lineage rather than luz #all of the important main characters in toh tend to be- to some degree or another- subversive for the fantasu genre #and hunter is that but for the prince charming archetype. also a little bit the princess in the tower (but that's for another time)#anyway. someone please take this and run with it words are genuinely failing me rn #(and yes this was prompted by ppls pepe silvia conspiracy boards connecting hunter to prince william)
