Kimi no Na wa ft. SaneGiyuu
I can't believe there's no SaneGiyuu or any Giyuu ship with this amazing AU. Anyway, let's proceed to imagine.
Giyuu is a high school boy living in a remote town with his adoptive grandfather, Urokodaki and his grandkid Sabito. Giyuu's sister Tsutako has long passed away due to an illness, and their father is the Mayor. Suffice to say he's not a good person at all.
Giyuu hangs out often with his two best friends, Mitsuri and Rengoku (initially I thought of Mitsuri and Obanai, it works too except Obanai hates Giyuu's guts hahaha)
While Giyuu loves his grandfather and his two best friends, he sometimes wonders about the life outside the little town he grew up on.
Sanemi is another high schooler who lives in Tokyo. His parents had long separated and custody was decided that their mother got all his other siblings while he volunteered to be with his father, who refused that he gets no one. Sanemi hates his father so much but he thought he'd rather be the one who suffers than his siblings. He's very thoughtful to everyone in his family but has trouble communicating and expressing how he truly feels about them.
He works part time and has a harmless admiration towards Kanae, his superior at work.
He is best friends with Obanai and Tengen.
When they started switching, it's an understatement to say that things escalated fast in both an amusing and surprising way.
Giyuu walks into school and wonders why Mitsuri and Rengoku were saying he was acting oddly the day before.
"Well..." Mitsuri started, not knowing how to continue it without sounding rude. "You kind of forgot where your locker is and you were very—"
"Energetic!" Rengoku chipped in enthusiastically.
Mitsuri shyly tells Giyuu that he may or might not have picked a fight with Akaza, the kid in the other classroom, who was picking up fights while blurting out and asking who is the strongest.
"You may or may not have punched him..." Mitsuri continued, looking concerned.
Giyuu nurses his hand, "Ah, so that explains why it was aching and kind of numb..." He said nonchalantly.
"Mm!" Rengoku smiles at him, "But to be honest, it was heroic of you, I never would've expected you'd stand up to them like that! You'd always rather rattle them with words!"
Giyuu couldn't say anything. How could he? He doesn't remember a thing.
"You didn't forget your lunch today?" Tengen aims a teasing grin at Sanemi, who merely gave him a look.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Obanai sighed, "You were acting weird yesterday. You forgot your Ohagi, which never happens. You forgot where you work, and you were surprisingly chill when you got a call from your father demanding you do errands."
"What the fuck? I don't remember any of that shit. Quit messing with me." Sanemi shrugs and left, thinking that he did have an odd dream that he was living someone else's life, but, it was a dream, right?
"That was unusual, right?" Obanai glanced at Tengen, who was smiling, a faint misplaced blush on his cheeks. "Actually, he was kinda cute yesterday."
Obanai grimaced at his friend.
Giyuu was having a dream when he heard a loud, unfamiliar ringtone blasting bloody vocals at an ungoldy volume. Still with his eyes closed, he reached out to his phone, thinking Sabito played a prank again and changed his ringtone. But instead of grabbing a phone, he falls from a bed. Which is weird, he doesn't have a bed. Groaning, he slowly got up from bed and adjusted his vision around. He's in an unfamiliar room. Fuck. He hadn't been kidnapped, right? The thought was about to make him slightly worry but then he heard an angry voice call out to him. Except it's not his name. "Sanemi", the voice said.
Slowly standing up, he quietly peaked over and saw a huge, buff man with black hair and a scary expression, glaring at him. "The fuck are you staring at? Move! Go to school or pick fights in alleyways, I don't care. Gimme the money Shizu owes me tonight, or else!"
Giyuu merely stared at the man, who in his observation looked a bit shocked at his reaction. The man left, not earning anything from him.
Giyuu heard the god forsaken ringtone again and rushed to his phone, when he failed to answer in time, a message popped in, "You're late again! I won the bet with Iguro, he said you'd be in time today. Lmao."
The name suggests it came from "Tengen", Giyuu then gently placed the phone down and walked to the mirror.
He was undeniably not in his body. He had quite a much larger physique and more refined muscles that were visible even while wearing a shirt. He had spiky white hair, and a number of scars littered his face and arms.
Instead of panicking, he quietly looked around the room, saw what could be a uniform, grabbed it and went inside the bathroom to start the day.
Stepping outside, he is greeted by a beautiful scenery of the city he only ever sees in television and the internet. Giyuu then went to the guy's school, trying his best to blend in and live his life. He found out the name of the boy is "Sanemi".
Sanemi woke up, he wasn't in bed. Trying to think back, he had no memory that he didn't go home even if he never wanted to. Not that the apartment with his dad can even be called a home. But now, he's in a futon, in a room with a traditional touch to it. Suddenly, someone pushed the doors open, and he sees a teen with peach colored hair.
The kid snorted, "What, Giyuu? Gonna pick a fight with me again?"
Giyuu? Who's that? Sanemi thought to himself, his eyebrows creased in annoyance and confusion. Yet he feels tired.
"Get up, it was your time to make breakfast but since I know you cook shit, I took the liberty of doing it. No worries, just come down to breakfast. Urokodaki-jii is waiting for you." With that, the boy left.
Sanemi got up from his futon too fast and stomped his way to the full body mirror. And is flabbergasted to see he wasn't himself. It's some guy with an unruly black hair and striking blue eyes. He had no scars, and is a tiny bit shorter and smaller than his own body.
Sanemi wandered his eyes and saw the kid's ID with the same face plastered there. "Tomioka Giyuu" it says. He ran a hand through his hair and stayed confused, none of this answers his question. Fuck, he'd have to find out what's happening.
Soon enough, those two found out what they were experiencing wasn't a dream, and they were indeed switching bodies and lives.
Both agreed they'd keep a journal in their phones to keep track of what was happening.
"Hey ponytail, stop trying to freak out my friends with your gloomy demeanor. Act more like me, goddammit."
"I could say the same to you. Stop picking fights with Akaza and Sabito. You're bruising my body. You're also making Kanroji and Rengoku worried."
"Don't take this on me, stop being weird with Kocho for me! Now she thinks I'm soft with all those stuff you did for her."
"Kocho is a good person. Anyway, you are soft. You did all those Maths notes for me. That was very thoughtful."
"Well yeah, your maths notes are shit. Better thank me for my immaculate handwriting there."
"Thank you. But in all other subjects, you don't write at all. You wrote numbers only. Also, I think Tengen might also be into you. Iguro seems to hate it when I'm the one he hangs out with."
"No, Tengen does not! He's just weird! Like you! And Iguro probably sensed your dumb aura. Learn how to cook, too. Your cooking is shit."
"Genya said he loved the Ohagi I made. He's a good kid."
"Don't be friendly with my family too.. especially that shitty dad. That thread thing you do with your grandpa and that peach haired kid is so hard goddammit. When has the threads ever talked geez."
"The thread does talk. Also, I'm not friendly with your dad, I was civil. I'm in no position to say this, but you and your family can escape him, you don't have to deal with that."
"Wow, who gave you the right to be chummy enough to give me an advice?"
"Your mom said she'd hope you all could live in the same roof soon, just you, her and your siblings. Genya enjoyed the times we played Mario Kart and I lost.. Anyway, I suggested you and your family will go and watch a comet pass by. I don't know if it will be me or you in your body then, but if it's you, please go."
"Oh my god you're such a weirdo..."
"😶✌️"
"Stop using emojis too... Sucker weirdo..."
Giyuu wouldn't stop talking about a stupid comet. What comet? There was no news about it. But perhaps it's not a bad idea.
Suffice to say, Sanemi started looking forward to switching with Giyuu and meeting his friends. He liked the personality of that Rengoku kid, even if Mitsuri annoys him a bit. He did loved Urokodaki's cooking, and the times he brawled with Sabito and the satisfaction he felt when Sabito loses everytime. He also began looking forward to the notes they exchange.
The day came, however, no comet showed up. He and his family ended up just eating and watching a movie. He waited for a time to switch, and Giyuu's entry on his phone.
However, none of those came again. He went to investigate, and his friends Tengen and Kanae came with him, and lead them to a town called Itomori.
Sanemi is shocked when everything that reminded him of the things that transpired with Giyuu is slowly disappearing.
Finally he learns the truth, Itomori was devastated by the comet three years ago. He remembered Giyuu from three years ago meeting him in a train, but at the time, he didn't know him yet. Their times weren't synched.
He hoped that he would be given another chance to save Tomioka.
And he was given that chance.
Everything is up to your imagination at this time hahaha.
Sanemi and Giyuu meeting there, and Sanemi smiling at Giyuu ever so fondly, "I went to look for you, but you were so far away." Giyuu crying in tears of joy of finally seeing Sanemi again.
After they met, things would get serious. Sanemi told Giyuu the plan.
Just, imagine, Mitsuri being the one who broadcasts in the school, and Rengoku trying to get people to go to the school but his dad stopped him.
But he is equally shocked to see the comet really did split up.
Giyuu, running with all of him, stumbling and falling, and remembers Sanemi's words.
"So we won't forget, let's write each other's name on our hands."
Upon opening his palms, it reads,
"I love you."
Giyuu is shocked, happy and he mumbles fondly, tears on his eyes,
"I can't remember your name with this..." And brings his hand close to his lips. He gains the motivation to convince his father to evacuate people to the high school, and suceeded in doing so.
Years after, Sanemi and Giyuu meet again, having better lives (Sanemi away from his dad and now sanemi is living with his family; While Giyuu lives in the city)
They don't have the memories of those times with them, but are willing to get to know each other again. This time, death is a far away thing just yet.

Note
Imagine that Giyuu on some mission has a bad move and ends up with a tendon in his knee, I feel that Shinobu will also have experience as a physiotherapist and helps him, although when he has already done it she tickles him with the excuse that he has to check it. , the massage worked and look for other places that also hurt.
I feel that Giyuu is more ticklish on his ribs, feet, calves or thighs and knees and I feel that he would not react so badly or laugh as I feel that he sees Kocho as Makomo (According to what many say and what I understood, Makomo Sabito and Giyuu were friends)
Giyuu's laughter is serious like that of a small child, he squeals, covers his face out of embarrassment and kicks lightly but doesn't try to escape.

“Fuck” Gyuu said, limping to walk
Him knee was hurting a lot
Walking two meters was harrowing
He entered a specific room in the butterfly mansion, where he knew Shinobu would be.
“Tomioka!” She came to meet him, putting him in her arms and helping him to stand up “your crow warned me, what happened?”
She helped him lie down on the bed
“It hurts like hell”
"Where?"
He pointed to his own knee
"How did this happen?"
“The Oni turned my knee backwards” Gyuu was in a cold sweat, it hurts a lot
“Oh my God, poor thing” Shinobu preached medicine and put them in the man’s mouth “take these medicines, you’ll get better”
She started to run her hands over the man's kneecaps, he groaned.
“I'm sorry, but I need to check. Does it hurt here?” She pressed it lower
"No"
"And here?"
Gyuu held her hand “it hurts”
“I’m sorry, what about here?” She pressed it tightly on top of her knee
Gyuu let out a scream and covered his mouth, turning red.
"What? It hurts a lot?"
He looked away “no…”
“What was it then?” She squeezed again
Gyuu jumped and held her hands
Their eyes met
Shinobu understood everything, she started to smile
“What is it?~”
“Just- no-“ he continued
“But I need to check if everything is ok” she pressed again, several times in a row
"No! Nohohohoho- KOHOHOHOCHO” he shouted
“What is that, Tomioka? I don't think it hurts, does it? I think it’s something else~”
Gyuu shook his head, there's no point in holding back the laughter, she's already started with his weak point
“What about the other knee? Does it hurt too?” She changed her hands “you laugh like a little child”
Gyuu jumped a little because the other knee tickled more, as he didn't feel any pain along with it.
“KOHOHOCHO!”
“Oh my God, poor thing, it must be really hurting for you to be having these reactions, and did he hurt something here…?”
She quickly moved her hands to Gyuu's ribs, the man threw his head back.
“HEHEHEHEHEHE DIHIHIHIDN’T”
“But I have to check!”
Shinobu changed her hands all the time, Gyuu tried to grab them but he didn't come close to being able to.
“Your laugh is cute! I'm almost done, don't worry” she said smiling “I just refuse to see if your whole leg is ok”
She ran her hands down his leg, which wasn't even injured, from his thigh to his foot.
Gyuu tried his best not to kick her in the face
“PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE”
He tried to reach the hands that were on his foot
“Hm… I think it’s okay”
Shinobu raised her hands, letting Gyuu lie on the bed peacefully.
"Are you feeling better?" She said, Gyuu realized that she was really worried
“Yes” he said getting up and coming closer “thank you”
The two looked at each other, and the man pulled her in for a kiss.
When they stopped, they both blushed
“I-I’m going to get some medicine” the woman said getting up
“O-o-ok” he covered his red face
Gyuu was alone in the room, smiling like a fool

My dear living adventure to escape (THIRD CHAPTER)
my dear-maybe this life is not for me
Author note
Hello everyone author here so in trying to update everyday I did write a lot more but it don't save so I'm trying to rewrite this on a school night wish me luck 🥲
"GIYU WAIT UP DONT LEAVE ME HERE WITH HER😢" was what sabito said before giyu left him
"Think this as pay back sabito" Giyu said looking back at Sabito with a grin Giyu was really leaving him well nothing we can do now
A few minutes later
"GIYU WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME"sabito was on the brink of tears how pitiful of Sabito always telling Giyu to act like a man yet not acting one himself what a fucking hypocrite Sabito is I hope Giyu finds a better man
Giyu was sitting on one of the garden benches when he respond back to Sabito
"i told you one and I'll tell you again think of this as pay back" Giyu responded Giyu had no regrets for what he had just done
"Why are you like this Giyu?" Sabito cried out he went beside Giyu and joined him on the bench
Kizana watched in anger she was hiding behind one of the flower covered bush careful in to not making any sounds
It was about 3 at the time and Giyu started to lay on Sabito shoulder that's when Sabito heard breathing where his shoulder was Giyu was asleep and Sabito had gotten flustered when he realized it he would've pushed Giyu off but he looked so peaceful and well beautiful his beauty was nothing compare to the garden he was far much more even compare to roses, daffodils,daisys,wisteria,Sakura,lotus,lilies,
Kizana could only watch in jealousy
It was about 5 when they were called once again Giyu had stayed with Sabito until he got called for dinner since Tsutako thought Giyu had left a few hours ago and didn't realize that Sabito was still here
"Giyu"a voice said it also came with a knock and that person was Sabito he had brought Giyu some food and some spare food for the trip they were bout to take a trip with no guarantee of making it out alive well maybe not that but you get the gist
By the time the lights went out it was 10 pm as well it was fall so it wasn't cold but it want warm either Sabito climb out from one of the windows in his bed room somehow he ended up with the smallest bedroom out of the 4 that was spilt amount his siblings and family it was still bigger than the servants quarter but smaller than either of his sisters or his parents
Giyu followed Sabito from the window Sabito jump down mid way as he slip against the walls it was hard enough to go down a wall but "a wall with no vines like in the books was even harder how does every book about how a royale escapes there's always some vine they use to escape" Giyu thought to himself Giyu was definitely the smarter one amount the duo he went to school with Sabito for as long as he remembered there wasn't a single moment in their lives that they were separated Giyu was also the one with a more feminine build Sabito was a lot more strong than Giyu only physically though physiologically Giyu was ,and there they were always there for each other no mater what
It only took a few more seconds till Sabito hit the ground with a thump ..... he fell how fucking stupid of him even inosuke would do that, Sabito looked at Giyu when he gracefully landed on the ground unlike him but that's when the escape really started Sabito looked around to see if there was any guards in sight when there wasn't they made their move they ran faster and faster to the point Giyu legs were trembling they were out of the palace's property out of its range it was to a point there's chance no one would find them till early morning
Both kids ran though the city by the time they were out of the kingdom it was about 12 if they kept at this pace they would be at the wisteria house by maybe 2 am
Giyu was tired but they have to keep running or they'll get caught and who would want that they ran into the enchanted forest ,the enchanted forest was a a clear flower path with blossoms as well as wisteria surrounding it the forest lit up the fire flys flew and the gems in the ground shined Sabito picked up one of the flowers it was a peony he took the flower and put in in Giyu hair, Giyu face turned a bright red after that
(Yk how in Sao they level up their skills it's kinda like that but more sword play and elemental it's kinda a sao Genshin mix also Genshin vision names cause I like how it sounds)
The gems color only become more vibrant as they walked the trail till they came to an open area a grassy flowery meadow no more trees only clear ground from here to where as far as his vision could see Sabito jumped into to soft grass and laid there for a moment
"Giyu come join me" Sabito said with a smile
"Look Sabito we're gonna have to hurry before that wisteria house thinks we made a sick joke of our reservation" Giyu looked at Sabito his eyes wandered of to some flowers in the distance as well as dragging Sabito to look at them
"Take a Break Giyu really we've been running for like an hour so chill out"Sabito responded to Giyus attempt to try getting him to move as well as dragging him
"Oh well then I'm leaving you" Giyu said walking away from Sabito,Sabito was laying in the meadow until Giyu tried to drag him
Sabito looked at Giyu when he he started to walk away from him after some time of Giyu leaving the meadow and Sabito behind,Sabito heard something or maybe someone...........
Footsteps............
loud ones stomping so loud it trembled the whole forest the birds started to fly away and the tiny critters began to hide while others ran what he saw left him speechless.............
.........A demon......
he thought to himself 'I thought these didn't exist anymore' anymore he said from he heard of demons when his father was a demon slayer, demons were man eating monsters that prey on humans, although Sabito has had training as a swordsman and was More than capable of taking down one himself he didn't have enough courage to do it himself
The Demon was a monstrously large, veiny, hulking monster with olive green skin, blood red fingernails, and beady yellow eyes with cross-hatch shaped pupils , all that training would do nothing against it he though when the demon turned its head to Sabito it stared at him with cold eyes
"What do we have here?" The demon questioned Sabito never responded
The demon reaches several of his arms at him with high speeds before he could react someone had pushed him before he could get hit
it was ✨Giyu✨ and yet with Sabito not getting thrown by the demon , Giyu was knocked to a tree his arm hit the tree first it started to bleed gushes of blood coming out but before Sabito could react to the blood coming out of Giyu' s arm the demon again again took another swing to him again yet this time the arm fell off
"HUH HOW DID MY ARM FALL OFF?"the demon questioned as he took another swing at Sabito that same arm also fell beneath him, a elderly man with a tenth mask stepped in
"EH WHO ARE YOU?"the demon questioned the man
The man said nothing as he Took out his katana once again before he attempted to slicing its head off yet the demon dodge the attack as trying to form one himself  before one of his arms shot up from the ground the floor trembled once again
The took a swing at the demons neck with its sword and with it the demon was now dead his head and body started to fade into ash
"Are you boys okay?" The man questioned concerned of what just happened it was a lot to take in
"Im fine I think-" Sabito was cut off after remembering that Giyu still had blood coming out of him like a bloody tampon
Sabito ran toward Giyu checking to see if he was okay the pulse was fast his heart rate definitely increase as well as there still blood from when he took a hit from the demon his arm would be okay and he would live but he did pass out, the man help bandage Giyu

I ran out of tags (again) you can listen to me ramble here! Prepare!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Rose broke me legit. READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT AND READ PART ONE! If you're looking for some good fucking angst and good boy Kyojuro and sweet Giyuu and a lot of angst and have I mentioned angst? That hurt/comfort greatness.
moving on, i need to keyboard mash some more...
the beginning flashback to a more intimate time is just so good. no words. GIYUU"S SILENCE IS SO LOUD
kyo complimenting his 11th form... so in character it hurts
and giyuu just,, "of course I needed to protect you you're better than me" UGH IM SMACKING MY DESK
"To Giyuu, his actions made perfect sense. Kyojuro was obviously the superior Hashira. He felt it only natural to protect the greater asset to the demon slayer corps, even if it meant putting his life on the line."
BITCH
THE fUCK
I love this depressed man so much
HIS TEASING BACK AND KYO"S "you always know how to make me laugh" GHSKSNDFSGFRSIUJHFJKRSG
okok ive been writing for twenty minutes i need to stop
but moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
like the flowers and gifts! i actually laughed at seeing the candy because of course he would be getting food its Kyojuro
and Giyuu changing his bandages awwwww
out of order now but Tanjiro just "He hasn't left!" and Giyuu's blush first made me think that he didn't shower or anything. just stinky man worried sick over his pining boyfriend
do not get me started on senjuro i will not shut up
......
Giyuu and Shinobu had to hold Kyo down, who doesnt have an eye and has decreased function in one of his legs?????? slay
screaming
okok but im talking about the fact that Kyojuro doesn't know what's going to happen next. He asks Giyuu what's going to happen, probably knowing that his Boyfriend doesn't know either. His whole world is flipped on his head, believing that his life was only prolonged because his worthy death has yet to come. It feels like he was just waiting to die, knowing that it would be a day that would come and go like the rest.
But Giyuu is completely AGAINST that idea, and is the reason he changes his view from thinking of a worthy and rightful death to living a good life.
Giyuu talks about Sabito, who he's never brought up before
(and the way he did CPR on Sabito???? that's painful, Rose. That's all sorts of angst pain don't make me imagine that! when he died like that????????????AUFIDKSGDNS)
and shkg
i cant go on any longer my brain is mush
my stupidity for them is taking over my whole brain
Fin.
As the World Caves In, pt II
Pairings: Rengiyuu (Rengoku x Giyuu) Words: 5.4k (7.8k total) Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Everybody Lives AU Warnings: (full fic) Graphic depictions of canon-typical violence, medical procedures, blood, bodily injury
If you let him live, I’ll tell him everything, I swear.
It was now or ever. And now he’d gotten so close to never, closer than he’d ever thought he’d get in all his wildest nightmares, that the unbridled fear of it now carried the words unspoken up his windpipe, threatening to burst.
“K-Kyojuro,” Giyuu began. And Kyojuro looked at him with those stunning, earnest eyes--eye--and Giyuu’s next words fell from his mouth in a huff. “Damn it,”
This is part 2/2. Read the previous part here!
You can also read the full fic on AO3!!
Tumblr media
“You ought to be more careful, my friend!” Kyojuro chided as he unbuttoned Giyuu’s uniform. “Look, you’ve ruined another uniform shirt!” He was referring to the large slash on the shoulder of Giyuu’s uniform, courtesy of the demon they’d just taken down together. Though they’d only known each other a few months at that point, Giyuu had learned that Kyojuro apparently preferred to dress his wounds himself despite Giyuu being fully capable, and he knew Kyojuro better than to try to argue.
He said nothing while Kyojuro frowned at his bare and bloody chest, appraising the long but superficial wound that spanned across his pale skin, coming to a stop at the hollow of his throat. He did tilt his head slightly back to allow Kyojuro to inspect the full extent of the wound, his quiet way of thanking him. Kyojuro hummed to himself. His golden eyes suddenly flicked from Giyuu’s wound to his face, stealing away Giyuu’s breath in a surprised huff.
“Does this hurt?” he asked, abruptly serious. Giyuu shook his head. Rengoku had a habit of making him lose his train of thought when he looked at him like that. “You shouldn’t have jumped in front of me. I would have been alright!”
Giyuu stared at him. The demon they’d been fighting had prepared one vicious strike right after another, while Rengoku had been finding his footing from the previous. Rather than allow the strike to land on the Flame Hashira, Giyuu had stepped in with dead calm, both sparing Kyojuro from the attack and causing it to fall on himself.
To Giyuu, his actions made perfect sense. Kyojuro was obviously the superior Hashira. He felt it only natural to protect the greater asset to the demon slayer corps, even if it meant putting his life on the line.
Kyojuro raised an eyebrow and cracked a small grin. “I know that look.” He said. It was the look Giyuu did when he was about to try to argue with him on something: brows slightly furrowed, gaze steady with heavy lids, lips parted. Realizing he was caught, Giyuu relaxed into a half smile and allowed Kyojuro to gently dab dirt and debris away from his wound.
“You may be reckless,” Kyojuro began, “But I have to admit, that eleventh form is incredible! How on earth did you learn something like that? Ah, I bet I could practice for a hundred years and never even get close!” His gaze now focused on Giyuu’s wound, he didn’t notice how bright pink his friend’s face had become. Kyojuro spoke highly of everyone, but praise of his swordsmanship coming from someone as incredible as him was still a high compliment.
Kyojuro continued. “Such fantastic work, I’m truly lucky to be on your good side!” He laughed and patted Giyuu’s chest with one hand and retrieved a first aid kit with a suture needle with the other. His hand was rough but warm against Giyuu’s permanently cold skin.
“For now.” Giyuu joked back. Kyojuro blinked once, surprised and a little disbelieving that Giyuu had actually cracked a joke, but after noticing the tiny upward tilt of his lips, smiled even wider and laughed even harder.
“I’d better toe the line then! Otherwise I’ll be the one needing stitches!” He laughed at his own joke while stitching his wound and Giyuu actually smiled along. Few could melt through his icy silences like Kyojuro could. Few understood what he was trying to say even when he was silent like Kyojuro did. “Ah, you always know how to make me laugh.” Kyojuro added with a sigh that made Giyuu’s heart ache.
Kyojuro’s half-open eyes saw white, made hazy by tears clinging to his dark lashes. White drifted above him, and for a moment he drifted with it, unaware that he was even conscious, just floating. Once his mind returned to him he tried to blink to dispel the haze but found himself unable, paralyzed, flat on his back and floating through nothingness. For a few moments he believed himself to be dead. Until the pain struck him.
He considered himself no stranger to pain, but this was unlike anything else. His entire body felt shattered. Even something as simple as breathing was a battle, as if his lungs and the walls of his chest themselves were locked in combat against one another. If he was indeed dead, this must be hell.
He thought so, until he heard a distant voice reaching to him from beyond the endless white oblivion around him. There were gentle hands on him, as if bringing him out of the haze and back into reality.
Someone was cradling the back of his head, tilting it slightly upward as they removed bandages from the left side of his face. The light changed slightly as they did so, though nothing came into focus. Fingers brushed lightly over his left eye. Whoever the hands belonged to, whoever was nursing him, sighed.
The bandages were replaced. A warm rag brushed against the aching skin of his arms. A hand rested lightly against his chest, directly over his heart, feeling it beating steadily. Kyojuro still couldn’t move or speak but whoever was tending to him apparently didn’t mind. The voice was silent while they worked but the silence was as gentle as their hands. That silence, its softness, the coolness of the hands on his body reminded him of something…
The haze slowly began to lift, as if his nurse’s gentle tending was pulling him back up out of the nothingness and into reality. As his mind cleared he groped for anything to anchor him back to the present; he remembered a cold wind, a column of flames.
“Another letter from Tanjiro today.” His nurse said quietly over the rustle of papers. “And…one from Uzui.”
Kyojuro would have leapt out of bed, if he could move. The kids! The train! The upper rank! I’ve got to get back there!  Kyojuro wanted to reach out, tell the speaker I don’t care about a bunch of letters when Tanjiro and the others could be in danger—
A letter from Tanjiro? He’s alright?
“Uzui’s letter first, then?” The voice said. More rustling of paper. A clearing of the throat. “Dear Rengoku, I apologize for my absence, since this damn mission is taking longer than I expected, I’m absolutely certain you’re beside yourself with grief that yours truly isn’t there with you—” the speaker scoffed, and Kyojuro would have laughed too, if he could move. “Anyways, I’ll spare you the non-flashy details and regale you with the full story when I can see you again. Please get better soon, the mansion is too boring without you. Tengen.”
In full earnest now, and with little else to do but lie there, Kyojuro tried to remember what had happened. The last image he could conjure was the electric flashing of blue and pink, a crazed laugh, and distantly, someone crying and calling his name.
He assumed he was recovering in the butterfly mansion, but how long had it been since he’d fallen unconscious? Long enough that he was getting letters. He wondered if he’d gotten any from Senjuro. Or Giyuu.
Giyuu.
He’d just been dreaming about Giyuu. One of the first times he’d noticed Giyuu blushing at him, one of the many times Giyuu had made him laugh. That’s what the silence had reminded him of. With great difficulty, with everything he had, Kyojuro managed to grunt softly.
Halfway through Tanjiro’s letter, the voice stopped. Even unable to see, Kyojuro could feel eyes on him, knew them to be deep and indigo and discerning. He sucked in a labored breath against the pain wrapping around his ribs, and this time managed a groan.
“Kyojuro?”
God I’d know that voice anywhere.
Kyojuro’s eyes slid closed, then open once again, still heavy-lidded, still teary, but open. The fog around him lifting, the first thing he saw was his nurse, pale skin, a mess of raven black hair and a set of indigo eyes.
In spite of everything, he smiled. “Giyuu,” he murmured.
Giyuu felt his heart stop in his chest, his relief so intense it nearly paralyzed him. Kyojuro was looking at him. Kyojuro was alive. His world had crashed back into orbit again. He grabbed his friend by the arms and held him there tightly, desperate not to let him go again.
“Kyo! God—” Thank god, thank god you’re alright! I was so worried, I was lost without you! His throat was so tight he could hardly breathe let alone speak. “You’re awake.” He managed stupidly after a moment. Kyojuro opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out for a moment. For once, Giyuu actually spoke instead. “Kyo…” he found himself saying again.
Kyojuro lifted his head and tried to sit up, straining against the unbelievable pain that shook his entire body. He caught a glimpse of a large, blood-shadowed bandage over his abdomen before his forehead suddenly bumped into Giyuu. He must’ve been closer than he’d thought. The unexpected bump sent him back down against the bed with a groan. Giyuu still hadn’t taken his hands off of his arms.
“Please don’t try to get up.” Giyuu murmured. “Your depth perception is probably quite off.”
Kyojuro frowned at him and opened his mouth to ask why he’d say that, but another bright pulse of pain behind his left eye answered the question for him. Giyuu watched him with an expression Kyojuro had never seen him wear. His eyes were wide, tearful, endless. His pale lower lip trembled along with his hands, though he didn’t say anything.  There was about a million things Kyojuro could ask: What happened? Where are the kids? How long has it been? He decided on something different.
“Kyo, huh?” He asked, his lips turning slightly upward into a smile. Giyuu stared. “Where’d that come from? I like it.”
Leave it to Kyojuro to say something like that at a time like this. That little smile on Kyojuro’s lips made Giyuu want to smile with him, to laugh and grab him tightly and never let him go. But he remembered the feeling of those lips against his, the taste of blood as he breathed for him, and the beginnings of his smile faltered. He came so close to never seeing that smile again. The weight of that knowledge pressed down on his shoulders so heavily that Giyuu dropped his head down and pressed his forehead against Kyojuro’s arm, as if in prayer. Overcome.
Kyojuro watched him and his heart ached. He’d never seen Giyuu this upset, or at least he’d never shown it this plainly. It seemed like a fairly strong reaction to a simple battlefield injury…there must be something more to this situation he didn’t understand. He called Giyuu’s name softly and waited for him to look up. “I’m alright.” Kyojuro said, softly for once, his throat dry and raw. “It’s alright.”
Giyuu looked up. “No, Kyo, you’re not. You were dead.” His brows fell heavily over his eyes in apparent anger. “I had to beat your heart for you, I—I had to breathe for you!” His voice was low, tightly measured because if he spoke any louder or with any more ferocity he knew he wouldn’t be able to keep tears from falling.
There was a brief silence while Kyojuro appeared to consider what he’d said. “And the train passengers? The kids?”
Giyuu’s eyes briefly widened in shock, but his brows were quick to pull down again. “Are you not hearing me? You were dead. It’s nothing short of a miracle that you aren’t dead now!” Kyojuro looked at him, still waiting for his answer. Giyuu’s frown deepened but the quiver in his lower lip betrayed him. “Will you worry about yourself, just for one moment?”
Though Giyuu had pulled away, Kyojuro still found an errant strand of his hair to curl between his fingers. “Why would I do that, when you do it so well?”
“Kyojuro, please.” Giyuu begged. “You—” he dropped his gaze again and struggled to conjure the words he meant. “You’ve been in a coma for more than three months. An upper rank had his arm through your solar plexus!” Kyojuro managed to look down at that shadowed bandage on his stomach, then back up at Giyuu as he continued.
“Kyo, you may never wield a sword again. You came very close to never breathing again! And I—” he snapped his mouth shut and averted his gaze from Kyojuro’s.
Still fighting through shockwaves of pain, Kyojuro watched as Giyuu stared at the bandage on his stomach. “Giyuu.” He said gently, cautiously. He knew Giyuu to have a temper, but he was acting differently than Kyojuro had ever seen, like there was something he needed to say but couldn’t find the words. “If I would have died, I would have done so gladly! It’s the risk we take as demon slayers—” he fell into silence as Giyuu looked back up again, his eyes filled with tears.
“Am I supposed to have been glad, too?” He asked bitterly. “You talk about yourself like your life is not worth anything! As if—” he stopped again. His breaths were coming faster and faster now. Giyuu did not continue, so Kyojuro did.
“My life isn’t worth any more than anyone else’s…” he began. Apparently on a roll of surprising him, Giyuu cut him off.
“Well it isn’t worth any less, either!” He exclaimed, not shouting, but with an intensity that rivaled Kyojuro’s. “God you remind me of Sabito!” He added in a huff.
That stopped Kyojuro dead, all attempts at argument shut down. Giyuu never mentioned his family. Not even silently. He’d only learned he’d had a sister after they’d already known each other for more than a year. Sabito and Makomo he only learned of through Urokodaki. He watched Giyuu’s face and waited for him to continue. He did, though silently.
Giyuu looked down and shook his head, his brow furrowed. You’re making this so difficult. Kyojuro watched his jaw clench and unclench, his mouth opening for a moment before clamping shut again. I need to tell you something. Fat, heavy tears fell from his eyes and onto the backs of his hands, which tightened themselves onto the blanket near Kyojuro’s forearm. It’s killing me.
Looking down, head bowed, Giyuu was thinking of the bargain he’d made. If you let him live, I’ll tell him everything. He felt as overwhelmed as he was when he’d first come to the horrific scene at the train crash, his world spinning. His foolish and hopeful and frightened heart cracked deeper and deeper and threatened to come apart altogether as he tried to find the words to make Kyojuro understand.
It was a long time before Giyuu spoke aloud again, and when he did, his voice shook.
“Kyojuro.” he finally said. “You think to be brave is to be selfless. As if you have no regard at all for your own life. That isn’t bravery. It’s self destruction.” He remembered the feeling of Kyojuro’s ribs snapping beneath his hands. He remembered feeling Sabito’s, too. He couldn’t meet Kyojuro’s gaze, knowing without trying that the look he found there would burn his resolve away in an instant.
“You may think your life isn’t worth more than anyone else’s, but—” closing his eyes, Giyuu breathed out a sigh. “It is. To me.”
That was a surprise. Kyojuro stared at him, his shaking hands and the gaze that refused to meet his. He was even more surprised to find a faint pink blush spreading over Giyuu’s cheeks and nose.
They fell into silence while Kyojuro watched Giyuu’s blush deepen.
He’d always loved Giyuu the same way he loved anyone or anything else: loudly. My friend, how wonderful to see you! You always know how to make me laugh! Every compliment, every smile, Kyojuro was saying it over and over without ever saying it. I love you I love you I love you.
But Giyuu had never been the type to do anything aloud. He loved quietly, privately, almost invisibly if someone wasn’t paying attention. Knowing his order at their udon cart without asking. Stepping in front of him to spare him a strike from a demon. Gripping onto the blankets of his cot, unwilling to meet his eye, unwilling to let go. I love you I love you I love you.
Kyojuro was more than glad to allow their I love yous to remain unsaid, unspoken but still there, always there. He had become fluent in Giyuu’s body language, the soft silence that fell between them when they were together.
But now the silence was uneasy with tension, as if there was something aching to be said.
“Damn it,” he cursed, moving as he spoke, finally releasing the blanket and grabbing instead onto Kyojuro’s arm.
Before Kyojuro could ask what he needed to say, Giyuu had closed the distance between them, taken him gently but quickly by the sides of his face, and kissed him.
Kyojuro was so surprised he didn’t have time to move or react, just let Giyuu kiss him, his hands gripping tightly onto the sore sides of his bandaged face. Eyes wide open Kyojuro watched Giyuu’s brow pull up, his eyes tightly shut as if in great pain.
And he was. Giyuu had never felt such agony, such elation, such horror at feeling Kyojuro’s lips on his again. It had never occurred to him until that moment that Kyojuro may not feel the same as he did, that his friend—could he call him a friend?—may be shocked, or worse, disgusted. But he couldn’t bring himself to care, now that Kyojuro’s lips didn’t taste like blood anymore.
The ecstasy of finally letting out what had been clawing up the inside of his throat since the first moment he ever laid eyes on Kyojuro, bright and beautiful in the Master’s garden, and the fear of losing him, the trauma of coming very close, raged a battle in his chest that crashed through the rest of his body until he finally was forced to pull away, gasping.
Kyojuro didn’t dare speak, just watched as Giyuu slowly let his breath out and leaned back.
“I can’t lose anyone else I love.” Giyuu concluded. His voice was no louder than a whisper and yet it echoed through the room as if he’d shouted it. The fear eventually coming out on top in the battle raging in his aching heart, Giyuu tried to move fully away, to stand and brush off his haori and regain whatever dignity he had left. Once again Kyojuro’s hand came down on his wrist, stopping his escape.
Kyojuro stared into his face until Giyuu looked at him, marveling at what he’d just done. Kyojuro had known for a long time that he loved Giyuu. And he’d known that in his own, quiet way, Giyuu loved him too. But now he’d said the quiet part out loud. What bravery it must’ve taken. Kyojuro looked at Giyuu’s lips, pale and thin and pressed into a hard, nervous line. He looked down and stared at Giyuu’s wrist in his hand. He released it, but captured Giyuu’s hand instead.
He kissed the back of Giyuu’s hand, his fingers, the inside of his wrist, the back of his forearm, pulling him down and down again until their faces were inches from each other, indigo eyes meeting gold. All those times he’d watched Giyuu flush pink at something he’d said, all the tiny moments he’d noticed the tiny changes of expression on his face, and Kyojuro had never dreamed of kissing him. Not because he didn’t want to, but because he’d accepted long ago that they would always share something unspoken, and that would be enough.
They stared at one another, breathing heavy. Giyuu watched as Kyojuro’s eye traveled down his face and landed on his lips before Kyojuro pulled him down far enough to kiss him back.
It was as if he’d never been injured in the first place. All the pain that had rattled his ribs just moments prior was gone and it was a hundred times worse. His chest no longer ached and it ached more intensely than ever before. In fact he’d never felt more aflame, Giyuu’s icy cold lips on his burned away any other thought besides Giyuu’s name.
He felt Giyuu take a breath and relax against him. He felt his lips part slightly beneath his. And then in spite of himself, in spite of everything, Kyojuro smiled.
Giyuu felt Kyojuro’s lips turn upwards against his, then felt him shake slightly as he began to laugh. Giyuu opened his eyes and found Kyojuro’s closed in joy, his head thrown back as far as he could manage while still lying in a cot, laughter beginning to peel from him like church bells. If it were anyone else, Giyuu would assume they were mocking him. But not Kyojuro.
“What could you possibly be laughing at?” Giyuu murmured, resting his hand on Kyojuro’s cheek. Kyojuro tried to stifle his giggles and Giyuu realized how red his friend’s face had become.
“All that time,” Kyojuro began with a sigh. “All that time I wanted to kiss you…Who knew I had to do was die!” He laughed again despite the pain in his stomach. Giyuu frowned at him, trying very hard to be serious.
“That isn’t funny.” He chided. Kyojuro just laughed harder, louder, stronger, as if Giyuu’s kiss had healed him. Giyuu rolled his eyes, but for once he didn’t think about how close he’d come to never hearing that laugh again. He didn’t think about how Kyojuro’s eyes had been staring blankly up at nothing, how his golden skin had paled and his chest fallen still. That laugh was like the sun parting through clouds, and for once Giyuu just sighed and chuckled with him. The sound of his laughter made Kyojuro laugh even harder until they both devolved into giggles.
Since Kyojuro’s laughter was both very distinctive and quite loud, it was bound to attract attention as other inhabitants of the butterfly mansion began to follow the sound. Giyuu leapt nearly a foot in the air when he heard a voice from behind him.
“Mr. Rengoku?” Giyuu quickly moved back from Kyojuro, who released his hand, though both relaxed when they saw Tanjiro standing in the doorway, his eyes already filled with tears. “Mr. Rengoku!” Tanjiro shouted, and sprinted forward.
“Young Kamado!” Kyojuro grinned at the way Giyuu moved back to allow Tanjiro in beside him. “Ah, how good to see you!”
All Tanjiro managed to say was his name as his eyes welled with tears. Kyojuro put his hand on his head. “Don’t cry, I’m alright!” He said softly. “Besides, I don’t want you tearing that belly wound open again!”
Tanjiro looked up, then at Giyuu, whose face was neutral and measured. “Mr. Rengoku, my stomach is all healed. It’s been three months.”
“Ah. So it has.” Kyojuro shifted and tried to get a better look at the boy. Without speaking, or having been asked, Giyuu slid his arm beneath Kyojuro’s shoulders to help him sit up.
Tanjiro couldn’t help but let out another sob. “I’m so glad you’re alright! Mr. Tomioka hasn’t left your side since you got here!” Though escaping Tanjiro’s notice, Giyuu went bright pink and set his jaw. Kyojuro grinned at him.
“That doesn’t surprise me at all.” He said softly, speaking to Tanjiro but looking at Giyuu as he helped him settle in the new, more upright position.
Next to follow the sound was Shinobu herself, who was so surprised upon appearing in the doorway to find Kyojuro looking up adoringly at Giyuu, holding him by the shoulders, his face bright pink, that she actually froze for a moment. It did not take her long to realize what Giyuu had done, and she smiled, blinking away tears. Finally.
Then she put her hands on her hips, blinked the tears away, and gave Giyuu the chiding of a lifetime for daring not to tell her that Kyojuro had awoken. Inosuke appeared next, already yelling, leaping onto the foot of Kyojuro’s bed and declaring Kyojuro the master of death itself. Zenitsu was quick to follow, carrying a half-awake and tiny Nezuko with him. Once her bright eyes fell onto Kyojuro’s she leapt from Zenitsu’s arms and joined Inosuke on the foot of Kyojuro’s bed, her delighted voice muffled by her muzzle but still clearly excited.
Any Hashira who wasn’t on a mission joined them. Mitsuri’s bright—if shrill—sobs of joy briefly drowned out anyone else’s attempt at speech, Sanemi sternly but firmly put his hand on Kyojuro’s shoulder, his jaw clenched tightly, Gyomei offered a prayer of gratitude. But the room stopped when Senjuro arrived. He stared at Kyojuro in the doorway for a long moment, as if disbelieving that he was really awake and breathing. It took both Shinobu and Giyuu to keep Kyojuro from leaping out of bed to greet him. Senjuro ended up sitting on the bed beside his brother, handing him letters that Giyuu had handed him and helping Kyojuro catch up on three months’ worth of missed correspondence.
It was only then that Kyojuro’s attention was jarred enough from Giyuu to look around at the scene surrounding his sickbed. On a table behind Giyuu was a stack of letters, cards, and notes. Beside the letters were gifts, wrapped in colorful paper or fabric, stacks upon stacks of bento, boxes of candy, several vases of flowers, several more wilted bouquets of lying on the floor beside his table. All of it had been carefully organized; The notes had all been gently unfolded and stacked in chronological order, the bottom boxes of bento had been opened, likely emptied of their contents before they could spoil--it had been three months, after all--rinsed and replaced on the table. The flowers had clearly been traded out for fresh ones each time the previous bundle wilted. Kyojuro couldn’t help but smile even wider at Giyuu the more he noticed his work. There he was, saying it over and over without anybody but Kyojuro knowing. I love you, I love you, I love you.
Though typically Kyojuro never seemed to tire, he had just cheated death after all, and so much commotion from so many well-wishers was becoming difficult to keep up with. Shinobu was quick to pull rank even on other Hashira and clear the mansion out when she noticed his eyelids becoming heavy. Only Giyuu and Senjuro lingered while she caught Kyojuro up on his injuries.
“I'm sure you’ve already noticed the injury to your left eye. It was ruptured. We treated it with medicinal ointments and managed to close the wound, but your pupil doesn’t react to light anymore…I’m afraid that eye will be permanently blind.” Kyojuro nodded slowly, remembering feeling Giyuu changing the bandages there before he was fully awake, remembering how he’d bumped into Giyuu’s head with his new lack of depth perception.
Shinobu continued, though her voice became gentle and slow. “The wound to your solar plexus was the most severe. It went all the way through your torso and damaged your spinal cord.” She told Kyojuro. Senjuro and Giyuu had already heard this from her, but it hurt a little to watch Kyojuro’s reaction to the reality of his injuries. His eyes wandered down his own stomach, across the bandage, and toward his feet. “It caused damage to the nerves that control your left leg. So far it seems like it still moves, but I don’t know how strong it will ever be.”
You may never wield a sword again, Giyuu had told him. Kyojuro had breezed past the statement at first, just glad to be alive. Now, staring at his left foot and trying to wiggle his toes, finding with a strike of fear that he could only manage to move the foot a matter of millimeters, Kyojuro swallowed but set his jaw, stiff-lipped, trying to look strong in front of his brother.
“I see.” He managed.
Shinobu laid out an aggressive rehabilitation plan for him, to start as soon as he was ready, then parted with an oddly knowing look that made Giyuu squirm just a little. Nothing got past her. Senjuro lingered a bit longer, but as intuitive as he was, nothing really got past him either. He could see his brother’s head beginning to nod as exhaustion overtook him. And he could see the way it nodded toward Giyuu’s faithful and unwavering hand on his shoulder, his cheek falling against the back of Giyuu’s palm. Senjuro slid off of the bed and invented an excuse to leave, letting Kyojuro begin to drift. Before he left though, he met Giyuu’s eye.
“Thank you, Mr. Tomioka.” He said quietly. Giyuu nodded silently at him; he’d been thanked by Senjuro several times before during the blur of these three months, once the boy learned how his brother had managed to survive the battlefield. Senjuro’s eyes were on Giyuu’s pale hand as Kyojuro’s cheek fell against it. “Thank you for saving my brother.” Senjuro continued in a whisper.
Giyuu nodded again, though this time it was because he couldn’t think of anything else to say. Senjuro left the two alone in the wing of the butterfly mansion, the light of evening turning gold around them. Giyuu nodded a third time, this time just to himself, because he couldn’t think of a way to say Kyojuro is the one who saved me aloud.
He felt Kyojuro sigh against him and looked down. Kyojuro’s good eye was open again, looking down at his own feet. “What’s going to happen?” He asked, mostly to himself, trying to move his defective left leg and frowning when he failed. After a moment he looked up to meet Giyuu’s gaze.
“I don’t know.” Giyuu admitted. With a defunct left leg and no depth perception, it was quite clear Kyojuro wouldn’t be wielding a sword any time soon, perhaps ever again. He’d be forced to retire as a Hashira. He swallowed and watched Kyojuro, who seemed to be thinking very hard.
He’d been born a Hashira, the blood was in him from the start. He’d always thought he’d die a Hashira, too. It wasn’t just the cornerstone of his identity but the very basis of it; everything else was built up from there. His entire concept of himself was going to crumble without his sword, without the flames curling from his lips as he wielded it. Without the knowledge, the certainty that he would eventually die in service of their cause. Now, Kyojuro didn’t know what he was going to die for.
Kyojuro looked into Giyuu’s eyes and watched them carefully as they began to shine. His ivory skin was glowing in the dying evening light, his hand was cool and soft against his cheek. He looked past Giyuu at the stacks of gifts on the table, the letters Senjuro had read for him and left for him. And he smiled. And he kissed Giyuu’s hand again and he smiled even wider, lips still against his cool skin.
“Me neither.” He said softly.
He did know what he was going to live for.
Evening fell into night with Giyuu by Kyojuro’s side, where he’d been all along and would be as long as he allowed him to remain. Their hands eventually entwined again, Kyojuro every so often kissing Giyuu’s as if in awe that he could. Each time Giyuu felt a little more faint. Each time he watched Kyojuro’s chest move up and down he relaxed a little more. By the time the sun had slipped down over the horizon Giyuu was practically asleep too, leaning against Kyojuro’s cot.
Kyojuro watched the back of Giyuu’s head, tiredly carded his hand through Giyuu’s mess of black hair, couldn’t keep from smiling.
“I love you.” He whispered aloud to Giyuu. Because he could just say it now, because he still had breath to whisper it into the dark room, because his heart had kept beating long enough to see Giyuu turn slightly to look at him, eyes heavy.
“I love you too.” He whispered back, aloud. The words came as easily as breathing now. He settled his head back against Kyojuro’s cot, keeping his neck craned back so he could look at him for just a little long before sleep overtook them both. I love you too, he said, silently.

the pain of losing and the relief from comfort.
Tumblr media
pairings: giyuu tomioka x gn! reader
warnings: mentions of battle and a breakdown.
plot: you break from the pain, can giyuu put you back together?
The mission started like any other but quickly turned into a living hell. An upper moon with a large group of its friends, slaughtering the unprepared and terrified slayers one by one. You tried to assist them but there was too much for you alone to handle.
Giyuu was gone, he was assisting others at the other side of the field. Your legs were so close to collapsing. You look up to see one of the demons grasping another slayer, its large hand crushing his neck, killing him instantly. You sped by and sliced its head, killing the beast.
The determined slayers fought their hardest, and after hours of fighting, almost all the demons in the area had been defeated. There were too many casualties and injuries to keep going with the mission.
“FALL BACK!” Your voice echoed through the battlefield. Then you saw The Upper Moon cornered a group of slayers. You knew those kids. “No.” You said under your breath. You pushed yourself forward.
You would never forgive yourself if you let them die here.
You saw it grabbing one of them, you were begging to the skies to let you get there in time. But then a group of demons stopped you. You fought them in a desperate, rushed manner. You heard screams coming from the group. Your heart started to beat a thousand miles per hour. You were so, so exhausted.
"SENSEI!” “PLEASE HELP US!”
More screams and pleads for the demon to stop came from the younger slayers clouded your mind. When you successfully decapitated the demons, to your horror, the Upper Moon has eaten them. The light inside your eyes faded.
You stood there in shock.
Your legs gave out and you fell to the ground.
The Upper Moon escaped, as you sat there, still and in shock.
“Y/N!” Giyuu ran up to your dazed form. “If you aren’t hurt, get up and focus on the battle .” You couldn’t hear him. He was cold and harsh, but deep down, you knew he was trying to help you. You couldn’t help but feel like you deserved to die for not saving your juniors. You just fucking stood there and watched all of them die.
Giyuu cursed under his breath. There was no way you were in any state to fight. He figured you had seen something traumatic when he saw the way you were looking at the pile of bloody uniforms. Witnessing the deaths of somebody you cared for was not easy, especially when you lose everyone at once. He would know. He knew you would blame yourself. He knew you’d feel guilty for not being able to save them. He saw it in your eyes. You were shutting down your emotions as you wouldn't feel the pain. You wanted to grieve for them, to scream your throat raw. But now wasn’t the time.
“Hey.” His voice softened. “Come on, get up.” He said.
You couldn't look at him. You just stared at the spot. Your kids were screaming for help. Help that you couldn’t give them. If only you had just moved faster. If only you pushed yourself harder. They were just children.
Giyuu kneeled in front of you, his steel-blue eyes boring into yours. He noticed that the shine that you always had in your eyes was gone.
“Come on. We have to get away from here.”
You were on a brink of breaking down while he lifted you up, hoisting you onto his arms. He cradled your head into his chest and rushed to the headquarters.
When you got home, immediately brought you to the Butterfly Estate to ensure you weren’t injured in any way. After getting patched up, he took you to his estate.
He set you down in his bathroom. You hugged your knees to your chest, tears threatening to fall at any moment. Your mind was racing a million miles a minute, reliving the moment. No matter what you did, you couldn’t stop seeing it and hearing the screams of terror coming from your students. They were your responsibility and you failed them.
Giyuu turned on the water, the sound of running water played as background noise to you. His eyes glanced in your direction sadly. He knew you love those kids like your own. You would talk about them so often, with a soft parental look. You went through the tough years of training them. Losing people that close to you would be difficult. He knew. He felt lost and defeated after losing Sabito. If he had stayed with him, who knows whether or not he’d still be here. He didn’t have anyone to help him grieve. But this time, he had you. And he plans to do the same for you.
As the warm water filled the tub, Giyuu’s fingers hesitated to wonder if he should even do this. Well, you were sweaty and caked with dirt and dried blood. He was sure that you wouldn't want to wake up to see the reminder of your loss. And there was no way he would leave you like this. He took off your haori, and unbuttoned your uniform, then carried you to the tub.
He knew he wasn’t the best at comforting, how was he supposed to know what to do? He didn’t have anyone to show him how. He didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable but still, you clearly need someone right now. He grabbed the cloth and poured a generous amount on his hand and began to gently scrub the dirt and blood of you. You closed your eyes at the gentle scrubbing.
Giyuu’s calloused hands were so gentle against your body, washing away the evidence of what happened earlier that day. His hands felt good against your skin. You just wanted to be close to him, to fall completely apart, but you didn’t want him to think that you’re weak or annoying.
He didn’t expect you to be this silent. It makes him feel uneasy.
He gently set you down on the bed, pressing a kiss to your forehead before helping you into your nightwear, then he moves to quickly take a shower himself.
Yeah, you don't really talk a lot sometimes, preferring to savor the comfortable silence with him. You never minded talking about how you felt, and he surely never minded listening. He fathered you talk to him, instead of bottling your emotions like that. After he took you out and dried you, he carried you over to the bed. Your slightly damp hair leaving spots on his haori.
It was that moment you exploded.
Your body began to shake as tears streamed down your face, soft sobs escaping your lips. The images of each student flashed so vividly in your mind and your heart started to feel heavy again. Your nails dug into your arm, creating little indents in your already scarred skin. You hissed in pain but you didn’t make any effort to move it either. Your breath uneven and you wailed loudly as you think of them. Giyuu came running to you.
“I couldn’t save them, my children-“ Your hands gripped your arm tighter. You just wish you had done something to help them. Even if you had been injured or killed, you at least would die knowing you saved your students, your children. Your breathing had become frantic and you were on the verge of tears. "They were calling out for me and I couldn't even save them!" Your eyes squeezed shut, wanting to scream. Giyuu grabbed your cheeks and pressed his forehead against yours.
“Hey, hey, hey.” his voice called out to you softly. “breathe for me, dear, breath.” He pulled your hands away from your arms and made you hold his. He was being soft and kind, which was different than he usually is. Then again, you needed him. So, you threw yourself into his arms again, hugging him tightly. His arms wrapped around you, holding you tight against his body.
“Nobody blames you.” He paused, trying to find the right words. “Your students, they will not die for nothing. You hear me? We’ll have to take revenge, for them, alright? We’ll make those demons pay.” He said. You nodded against his skin. He kissed your head. “That’s my dear.” He whispered. “Giyuu?” You whispered. He hummed in reply. “Can we… can we go back and give them a proper burial tomorrow morning?” You asked him. “….” He looked into your eyes, searching for signs of guilt and that you were forcing yourself to do this. “It's the least I can do.” You said, looking away. “Sure. We’ll head there first thing in the morning.” He said. “Thank you.” You whispered, holding him tighter. “You welcome.” He said.
He may be a man with a few words but you knew you can always depend on him when times get rough.

Giyuu Kinktober 2020, Day 23: Sabito edition, Exhibition (reader & Sabito), Voyeurism (Giyuu), Daddy Kink, Cream Pie, Oral, Cum Eating, Sloppy Seconds
“I want you two to get along.”
Those were the words Giyuu left Sabito and their girlfriend with as he left the room, going as far as to lock the door behind him. It had been a rocky road, given both were unwavering in their pursuit of him, to the point they conceded and decided to share Giyuu.
Unfortunately it became far too tedious for Giyuu’s taste. Neither were there for each other, only him, and he could see tensions rising. Before things could grow toxic he put his foot down, demanding that they be as willing to care for each other as they care for him.
Sabito was typically the first to speak up, denying that it was a possibility, with her following close behind to agree. For once neither immediately denied the chance it might happen, giving Giyuu a glimmer of hope as he noticed pink dusting their cheeks.
Giyuu hoped his insistence paid off, otherwise it was over. All he could do is hope as he left them to sort things out.
He hadn’t expected to return to the sound of gentle moaning and muffled groaning through the door that trapped them inside. Pressing his ear to the door he found the sounds they made weren’t the same they made when they were only with him.
Sabito groaned deeper, with the lightest growl following. Her moans were higher pitched, as if she couldn’t get enough air before another pleasured noise left her lips.
Just knowing what they were doing became a turn on. While he hadn’t expected the turn of events, Giyuu couldn’t deny it was one of the sexiest things he had witnessed in his life. Both of his lovers, as head over heels as they were for him, passionately embraced.
He had to see it for himself.
Carefully he unlocked and cracked the door, the noise not noticeable beyond the sound of skin slapping as well as their voices. His head peeked into the room, finding Sabito holding their girlfriend’s legs over her head by her ankles.
“You keep getting wetter and wetter. You like the way I mess up your sloppy cunt?” Giyuu was almost in shock hearing Sabito speak like that to her. He knew first hand Sabito could dirty talk, it was part of the teasing he loved to do, but hearing it applied to their lover was something else entirely.
“Yes, Daddy!” Her answer came as her head tilted back. Without prompting Sabito placed both her legs over his shoulder, holding them there while his other hand reached for her throat. His fingers wrapped around her neck, applying pressure to the sides to make her feel light headed.
“I’m close, baby girl. You think you can cum on my thick cock again?”
“Yes!” A slap to her thigh echoed in the room. “Yes, Daddy!”
“Then cum.” Sabito moved his hips at a frantic pace, abusing the sensitive spot along her walls in a way that made her back arch.
Manic moaning filled the room, some Giyuu could make out loosely as “I love your cock, Daddy.” Without a second thought Giyuu’s hand went to cup his erection, only letting go to pull his pants and underwear out of the way. A lingering thought filled his mind, wondering if he can also fuck her in this broken state after Sabito finished. Giyuu recognized the way her legs shook and twitched as her orgasm took over, leaving her shaking under Sabito with a muted scream.
“Fuck, baby. You milk my cock so good when you cum.” Just by the tone of Sabito’s voice Giyuu knew he was already cumming as well. If not the groan that capped off Sabito’s statement then the way his shoulders went lax as his cum pumped into their lover.
A part of him wondered if they simply had sex out of frustration, and they just might have, but the way Sabito leaned down to kiss her had his heart flutter in hopes they might get along - especially when he heard her happy hum as she kissed him back.
As Sabito pulled back Giyuu could see a wet spot below their girlfriend’s ass, not to mention the thick cum dripping from her entrance. It was so entrancing that Giyuu hadn’t realized Sabito had noticed him.
“A hell of a sight, isn’t it.” Sabito, smug as ever, grinned at Giyuu before laying next to their lover. She seemed to be too tired to respond other than a whimper of Giyuu’s name.
Just seeing them on display for him, in more ways than one, pushed Giyuu into action. Sabito’s cum soaked cock was softening, making Giyuu move to lick it clean as his fingers plugged his girlfriend’s entrance. His fingers wiggled within her to feel how full of cum she was. Giyuu sat up, looking down at Sabito with the slightest hint of a smug smile.
“You two taste good.” With that he pulled his fingers from her core, sucking them clean as he watched Sabito’s cum trickle from her warmth. Leaning back down Giyuu’s mouth latched to her cum filled cunt.
Their distinct tastes mingled together even stronger. Where there had been a hint on Sabito’s cock, in her pussy the flavors were at their peak. He didn’t mind, he found himself indulging in the fact that their tastes combined perfectly.
Times like this he really wondered if he was meant to have both of them because it felt too right.
Giyuu’s tongue lapped along her walls, swallowing Sabito’s seed as it came from her pulsing entrance. He wanted to fuck one of them, but he knew Sabito was likely spent. For better or worse, he was aware women could last longer.
A soft moan caught Giyuu’s attention, causing him to look up and see Sabito kissing her languidly. It was almost entrancing to watch his two most precious people in the world become willing to have affection with each other as well. Even more so when he saw their hands snaking down the other’s body. Her hand wrapped around Sabito’s cock while his calloused fingers circled her clit right before Giyuu’s nose.
When he no longer tasted Sabito’s cum within her walls Giyuu sat up, watching the two touch each other. It was almost cute how they learned how to touch the other, seeing what the other liked and learning the other’s body. A sense of pride filled Giyuu’s chest as he sat on his haunches, stroking his cock in time with their touches.
“Well,” Giyuu started, reaching down and cupping his balls with his unused hand. Sabito and their girlfriend stopped kissing, hands pausing in their exploration. He could feel their gazes, how both ate him up. Just knowing how much they both desired him inflated his ego immensely.
“Are either of you going to service me?”
Sabito’s cock twitched and a new wave of slick drip from her core. Giyuu might have awakened something in them.

Meeting him- Sabito x Reader- Part 9
✨NSFW✨
The story takes on our reader being invited to become a pillar. While meeting everyone, she encounters Sabito, and from that point on she’s a total goner.

I lost the source to this image. I hate me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He pulls me flat against his body and my mind feels like it’s turning soft.
Wait…is… is it touching my stomach?!
My body tenses up.
My heart pounds and my hands freeze on his chest. I’m almost tempted to look down between us, but I’m too embarrassed.
Do something! Look at him!
I drag my eyes to his face.
Perspective of Sabito
It didn’t help that hearing her past made me only want to wrap her up and take her. I’m doing my absolute best to remain calm, yet everything in my body was telling me to take her now. The desire for her filled me.
I no longer cared about the time and place. I want (y/n).
Her honey orbs connected to mine. Soft blush and fluttering eyes consume me once again. I watch her lips slowly part, taking in a small breath. That’s it, I cusp her precious cheeks.
I’ve had enough
I bring my lips to hers- soft and gentle. Fitting perfectly with mine, as if made for me. I want to enjoy every little thing about this. Y/n deserves to be treasured. I stop my caressing and gently pull my lips back, brushing them over hers.
Her eyes remain closed.
Oh no, she’s going to pass out again…
Just when I think she’s about to fall limp, she grabs my shoulders and shoved her hips against mine; making my harden length anxious for her. Head pulled back and her glorious skin begging to be adorned. I dress my kisses on her throat, working my tongue against her veins, giving a suck when I reach her collar bone- her light moans encouraging me to continue.
This was it. I know it. She’s pulling herself on me and I can’t stop. But… not here.
Before she could sense my hesitation, I reach for her legs. They instinctively wrap around me and an instant gasp escapes her lips.
My girl is sensitive, fucking precious.
I raise her and take us out of the water. A guest room that no one ever goes to is next to us. With our naked bodies being the only ones that inhabit this building, there will be no one to disturb us.
Gently placing her on the bed, I see her skin glisten in the moonlight. Her small breast that would fit perfectly in my mouth are perked with harden nipples. Even the visible chills on her skin welcomed me to warm her.
Perspective of Y/N
So many things are running through my mind and I can’t catch a single thought. Though, if I’m being honest with myself, I don’t want to think. All that I’m certain of is that everything in me is begging for this man.
Yet.. why am I so self conscious? I’m naked and exposed on this bed and he’s just eyeing me?!
My hands reach up to cover my breast but he stops me. He lowers himself just above me to say I’m beautiful in my ear. I feel hot as he guides my hands to be pinned beside me. Kisses start to tickle their way down my neck and breast. His tongue swirls and sucks on one before continuing downward. Releasing my hands, he moves to my thighs. Spreading them and giving me one last look before turning his attention to my sex.
I had no idea what this would feel like, but the second his mouth opened me I trembled in shivers. I never felt such heat tease me. My breaths became more audible once I felt his arms wrap around my thighs. Kisses were places everywhere, and I couldn’t help but reach for his hair when his tongue circled around my clit. I look down and watch him inhale me deeply, nuzzling his nose against my most sensitive part. My back arched and I felt driven to a near edge when he stops.
Wha? What now?
I feel weak now as he positions himself between my legs. My heart begins to race again and a new wave of eagerness takes over. Something tells me to raise my knees and wrap my arms around his neck. I listen to my instincts and his lips brush against my ear.
“You’re sweet as honeydew, you know that? Absolutely perfect”
My face feels hot- I’m utterly enthralled by him
Is this it? Is it really happening? Now?
I heard of it hurting. I heard of blood coming out. I’ve heard of many unpleasant things for first time experiences. All this and yet, I know Sabito would take care of me.
I almost begin to shake in nerves, but then I see him lowering. His lips once again spilling sweet promises in me. I relax and calmly squeeze around his neck him to push his mouth further into mine.
“Are you sure (y/n)?” His voice husked.
My eye parted open, giving confirmation with my nod.
I feel his body melt onto mine, our entire bodies almost as one. Again, those lips come onto me. This time they were aggressive, I felt a tongue reach for mine and soon they were tangled. But, even his tongue couldn’t distract me from what I felt next.
The head of his length touched my entrance. I tense as a reaction and cling onto Sabito. I couldn’t focus on kissing now. My face nudges against his chest, his scent fills my lungs and my breaths try to even out. This gave way to the push. I felt my walls stretching and a force like no other slowly opens me. It stops and doesn’t move. My lips press to a fine line to muffle my cries, yet heavy breathing still escape my lips; It’s all that’s heard in the air. Kisses are placed on my forehead, and my hair is caressed to the side. I look up see Sabito face in awe with me. I didn’t realize it till now, but even he’s breathing hard.
Is this his first too?
Our lips connect and I feel another wave of pressure shooting in me. A thought of him being too big and wondering if this was normal came over me. Our foreheads connect and heavy breaths are exchanged. A final moan is given to him as I finally feel his end reach me. Our hips were now connected-I feel so full.
Its painful, yet I’m happy.
“You’re so beautiful” he exhales.
My eyes flash to his. They’re so pure, genuine, and he’s so handsome. Tears swell up in my eyes and I happily kiss him.
Why is he so good to me? How did I get so lucky?
My tongue slips pass my lips as I try to finds his, once I make a contact, I feel him throb inside me. I flinch at the sudden movement and clench. I tell him I’m ready and he slowly pulls back out of me a little, only to stop and bring it back all the way. I hang onto him and give encouraging nods for him to continue. I wanted it, I wanted it all. The pain mixed with pleasure the more and more he softly thrusted in me. His gentle movements turned heavy, and my gasp turned to moans.
Even my hips began to move on their own. Bucking with his thrust, guiding him to me. Soon, everything felt wet, moisture begin to drip down my crevasse.
“You’re so perfect (y/n)”
My heart feels like it could burst. I don’t know what to think, suddenly he flushes himself against me. Lips frantically suck and bite my neck, pushing me further in ecstasy. I’m in a daze and all I can do is remember how to breath. The pressure of thrust begins to rub against me, each push forcing a breathless moan pass my lips.
I might just explode.
“Ohh gods, please please keep going Sabito!”
My nails dig further in his neck and tiny flutters swell inside me.
I couldn’t think anymore, I wanted even more of him. Mindless lips connect to his shoulders, and teeth bite down. With my bite, I hold his place against me, sucking sweet sweat off him.
“PFFF-FUCK!” he growls. Hips thrust hard in me and I shriek. The instant pleasurable pain gave satisfaction to the pulsing heat within me. My breaths slowly climb down and I feel my body go limp. Every muscle in my body ached- and it felt good.
Sabito gently rest above me. His large figure protectively holds me down, forcing me to feel heavy throbbing inside me. I instantly warm and full.
What just happened?
part 1 part 2
Tumblr media
“Why do you hate me?” Is he seriously asking me that? Well, he almost killed me. You think to yourself but as you open your mouth to say something, nothing comes out. Just a scoff.
“I don’t even know why. Just the thought of you annoys me, just the sight of you hurts me, and I don’t know why.” You mutter quietly, not sure if he heard you.
“So you’re doing this for absolutely no reason?” Giyuu asked confused
Everything happens for a reason. There must be a reason why you’re feeling this way. But how are you going to find out?
“There’s a reason” You said to him and walked into your apartment, shutting the door in his face. There truly is a reason, you just don’t know it yet.
————————————
Days has passed since Giyuu talked to (Y/n). He’s been sulking over their conversation these past few days, thinking every moment he had with her and what did he do wrong. But nothing, inappropriate pops up in his mind except the one where he accidentally pushed her because of Sanemi.
“It’s not even my fault.” Giyuu muttered to himself before messing his already messy hair.
Sabito came to the living room of their dorm and threw Giyuu a leather jacket. The cold metal of the zipper hit his face causing him to “ouch” in pain.
“What the fuck?”
“Yeah, what the fuck. What the fuck are you doing there sitting, looking like you’ve been on the streets?” Sabito says with disgust and his face contorted.
Giyuu doesn’t answer his question as he lays on the couch and looks up to the ceiling.
He sighed. “(Y/n) hates me. She hates me. The girl I like hates me.” Giyuu closes his eyes feeling tired about thinking what happened between the two of them.
“Hate you? You sure? (Y/n) doesn’t hate anyone without reason. She’s a kind girl.” Sabito contradicts Giyuu’s statement.
Giyuu purses his lips and sits up frustrated. The damn girl is on his mind every single moment.
“Well maybe you don’t know her enough. You’re not even close friends.” Giyuu spat back and stood up to sulk in his bedroom.
“Well that or...you did something bad to her in your past life.” Sabito says grimly which makes Giyuu stop in his tracks. Past life? Is that even real?
Giyuu scoffs and laughs. “Stop kidding me. You’re starting to sound like Makomo.”
“She makes me watch all those past life regression things. There’s some videos in the internet, watch them they’re pretty cool.” Sabito held up his hand to say goodbye and walked out the door. Giyuu stares at the where his friend was, thinking about what Sabito just said.
————————————
Giyuu nervously gulps, plays with his fingers, and gulps again and plays— “God...why am I being like this? It’s just a simple appointment.” Giyuu says to himself and bites his lips. This wasn’t just a simple doctor’s appointment. It’s a fucking past life regression appointment and he doesn’t know why he is here. No one even knows he came to this clinic. He went through hell to get an appointment in this place because the practitioner is said to be skilled. He wants to back out in fear of what he may find.
Is it okay to remember what you’ve already forgotten? If it’s forgotten then it means its for the best. Right?
No. Giyuu tried so hard to contact this clinic and he might as well accept what decision he made.
“Giyuu Tomioka?” The secretary called him in and he sat up immediately and went into the room. A young man who has dark shoulder length hair, narrow eyes and a warming smile welcomed him sitting beside a long armchair.
“Hello Giyuu, please have a seat.” Says the young man who seems to be the practitioner. Giyuu sat down, laid his head back on the chair and relaxed. This is it. Once you lie down, there’s no turning back.
“Please relax and let go of all the tenses in your body. I’m Ubuyashiki Kagaya and I will be guiding you in today’s session.” Kagaya had a soothing voice that seemed to calm Giyuu. It was weird but comforting. Like it’s telling him to let go and be calm. Giyuu felt his heart return to normal and his breathing steady.
“As I count backwards now from five to one, go back into your childhood and let yourself remember a memory from when you were young.” Kagaya instructed, Giyuu immediately did so. “I remember my sister...and her friends laughing in a room. They were wearing gowns and stuff.” Giyuu immediately replied with his eyes closed.
“About how old are you now?” “Nine”
“What are you experiencing now? Are you remembering more about that time?”
“I was wearing a little suit,  I think it’s her wedding.” Giyuu replied
“How do you feel remembering that?”
A sense of relief and happiness flooded Giyuu upon hearing his question. “I’m happy. I’m happy she got her wedding.”
“Good. Let’s go farther back now, back into past lives. Be there. What’s happening to you?” The young man asked calmly as if soothing Giyuu of the storm that’s coming.
“It’s dark. I hear voices, screaming. T-there are sinister sounds...”
“What kind of sounds?”
“Slurping, splatter, gurgling, disgusting sounds.” The blue eyed man’s face twitched in disgust about what he’s remembering.
“What’s making those sounds?” Kagaya asked Giyuu but he didn’t reply, he just let out a gasp. Kagaya touched GIyuu’s forehead and said: “I’m going to tap you on the forehead and count down from three to one. Three...two...one. More details about those sounds, those sinister sounds.”
“It’s the sound of someone eating. A big man eating.”
“What’s it eating? Can you-”
“Humans! It’s eating humans!” Giyuu’s tears bursts out like a dam. “M-my sister is protecting me. Sh-she-” Giyuu sobbed.
Blood splattered across the walls as Tsutako covered the young boy’s figure from the entity in front of them. The pain was torturing him as he watches his sister die in front of him, while telling him to run for his life.
“It’s okay. I’m going to take you to the end. You survive this do you?”
“I survived.” Giyuu replied which brought a smile to Kagaya’s face.
“Okay. Let’s go to another one now. You don’t have to go through it. When I touch you on the forehead, everything will change. You will leave that scenario and you’ll feel so much better. Now, leave the scene.”
As the scene changes, Giyuu feels so much better as if a heavy boulder is lifted from him.
“Now, what do you see?”
“Wooden sticks...my friend Sabito and the man who plays board games are fighting. The old man is wearing a red mask beating up Sabito.” Giyuu scrunches his face because why the hell was this old man, beating up Sabito? It was the same grumpy elder who lives near uni.
“N-no. They’re training, not fighting.” Giyuu says, his thoughts cleared. “What are they training for?” Kagaya asked and Giyuu replied that he doesn’t know. So Kagaya touches the patient’s forehead once again to transport him to another scene.
“What do you see?”
“A wisteria mountain, it’s like the flowers are glowing.” Giyuu paused “I’m with Sabito.”
A heavy silence lingered in the air because no one speaking. The practitioner was waiting for Giyuu to start describing his surroundings. He was being careful not to trigger his patient and let the patient find it’s own lost memories.
“I...have a huge gash on my forehead. My mask was sliced into half and I hear a loud rumbling laughter. “
The young Giyuu looked at his talisman mask sliced in half. His hands shaking and his vision blurring. He looked up to see a colossal, green, veiny monster laughing at his predicament.
Then, Sabito helped him up and ordered another kid to take Giyuu away.
“What? No!” He exclaimed as he struggled to get out of the other kid’s grasp. Sabito’s sad smile was getting farther and father away. Giyuu saw his peach haired friend lunging high up into the air and onto the monster, aiming for it’s neck.
Unfortunately, the blade broke as it touched the skin of the monster, along with the cutting of the talisman mask in half.
He watched his best friend die.
“Giyuu!” He opened his eyes to see Kagaya’s face worriedly facing him. A relived sigh escaped the doctor’s mouth upon seeing Giyuu wake up. Kagaya lowered his head for a minute as the blue eyed man looked at him.
Giyuu was about to speak up- “I’m sorry. We don’t have to continue this session if you want-”
“No! I want to continue it. I want to know something else...please.” Giyuu pleaded at the light purple eyes looking back at him.
The other man sighed. “Giyuu, you don’t understand what past life regression is. It’s not something you can take so easily...I was worried for you since you wouldn’t wake up and you just kept crying.”
Giyuu touched his face, noticing his cheeks were wet from the tears he didn’t know he shed. “I’m prepared to face whatever I may encounter. Even if it changes my life or leaves a huge hole in my heart, I will face it. I’m determined to know why this certain girl hates me.”
Kagaya pursed his lips into a thin line and walked out of the room. Giyuu watched, confused why the older man went out. Did he anger him? Was he too stubborn? He laid back into his seat and relaxed, processing the scenarios he just saw. His sister died? Sabito died?
He only opened his eyes when he heard the door open. “I have a patient who cancelled his schedule later. You can come back in an hour.” Kagaya said and Giyuu nodded.
An hour to think about everything.
————————————
Giyuu pulled out his cellphone from his pockets and scrolled down the contacts. He paused on (Y/n)’s name and typed in a message for her.
Giyuu: Have lunch with me?
He covered his face with his hands, silently cursing himself. Why in the world did he type that? He immediately looked at his phone when he heard the buzzing sound and it brought a frown to his face.
Y/n: I’m busy
Y/n: Sorry
He felt his heart weight down at her rejection of his offer of lunch. He was gonna take that opportunity to fix whatever they have but now it’s gone. “I should’ve done a smoother approach. Fuck.” Giyuu said to himself.
————————————
After eating a tasteless lunch, he’s now back in the clinic for another session. He has his eyes closed while the doctor guides him with questions. Giyuu hopes that this time he will find the answers he’s been looking for.
“Okay, relax and let go of all the tenses in your body. Go farther in your past life...What do you see?” Once again, the soothing voice of Kagaya delved Giyuu deeper into his past life. It stopped on a scenario where he’s sitting on an engawa, looking at the falling golden leaves. He narrates everything to the doctor, but the vision was so vivid. It was as if he’s living his past life.
Deep blue eyes looked at the falling leaves of different colors. Red, gold, orange and yellow leaves scattered on the ground, they came from the huge tree in front of him. The autumn breeze was chilly but Giyuu paid no mind to the wind. He’s just staring into nothingness.
A plop was heard beside him and he saw (Y/n) smiling at him. He examined her eyes, and in there he saw raw emotions. He blinked and looked ahead as his heart went crazy from looking into her eyes.
“Why are you here?” Giyuu asked in his usual cold dismissive tone. You bit your lip and stood up. “I’m sorry, I’ll find anoth-” Shock froze you as a tight grip made it’s way to your haori. “I asked you why are you here, I did not tell you to go away.” Giyuu sighed and told you to sit down beside him.
You cleared your throat and bowed down your head. “Tomioka-san, thank you for saving me again today. I know that I’m a kinoto and I should be capable of slaying that demon but...I got distracted. I’m sorry” You were so nervous awaiting the answer of your superior who you have a crush on. Is he gonna say anything?
Giyuu sighed. “You should train more if you want to become a hashira like you always say. Your ice breathing technique is lethal but you’re the problem. You reached the rank of kinoto but you’re still weak.”
His words were harsh and it brought a pang to your heart. But hearing him talking to you makes you smile. Even if his words hurt at least he’s here talking to you.
“I must be going crazy.” You said to yourself, accidentally letting out a giggle. Giyuu looked at you with an eyebrow raised and you bow down. “What’s funny?” He asked.
“Nothing” You stood up and walked in front of him, blocking his view. “What the fuck is she doing?” Giyuu thought to himself.
Giyuu’s ocean blue eyes gazed right into your (e/c) ones. The girl in front of him let out a huge breath and smiiled. A smile that could light up the darkness he’s feeling inside.
“Tomioka-san, I want to be a strong hashira like you. Ever since you saved me from a demon back then I...I wanted to be like you. So don’t think you’re useless when you’re the one who is the reason for me living.” You paused as tears start streaming down your eyes. It didn’t matter if he was going to reject you or love you. What matters is that you said what you have been wanting to say.
“Every moment we shared was special to me. So I worked hard to reach you, so that we will be side by side. I like your touches. I like everything about you. I like you Giyuu Tomioka.” You breathlessly say looking straight into the ocean blue eyes that you let yourself drown in.
Giyuu had his mouth agape, his brain going into a haywire. He received lots of confessions but this one did the best of him. His inner self was rejoicing but he doesn’t know why.
“Why do you like me?”
“Eh?” You were confused, didn’t you say that in your confession? Or is he testing you? Your eyes widened when he could be testing you if you’re worthy to let in. Oh shit.
“Uhm. You’re amazing...and, uhm.” You were at a lost for words when he suddenly engulfed you into an embrace. Giyuu was caressing your hair as he buried you into his chest. Your heart was beating so wildly but you could hear his also. You’re so happy. So so happy.
Sadly, happiness doesn’t last for long.
————————————
Giyuu opened his eyes and started wailing. He sat up as his chest was heaving up and down as Kagaya took a glass of water and handed it to him. His full face was red as he gripped the glass, shaking.
“Giyuu, what happened?” Kagaya rubbed Giyuu’s back in an attempt to settle down the man’s cries. Giyuu kept sobbing, unable to form words. It took him minutes to calm down and he finally said what’s going on in his mind.
“It’s my fault...I didnt look hard enough...it’s my fault.” The man started sobbing again.
Loud cries of anguish filled the room. The cries of a man who lost everything.
Tumblr media
By the time you and Giyuu get behind a nearby building, you’re out of breath and close to collapsing.
Every wound Muzan’s inflicted upon you is screaming, howling at you to stop moving, and even as you pant and your chest rises and falls you feel the sting of broken ribs and sliced muscle. You take a deep breath - wince at the feel of your body moving - and swallow, trying to wipe blood out of your vision. You turn your head towards Giyuu, who’s in the same position as you - bloodied and bruised, hissing at every movement.
“What’s the plan?” You ask, breathlessly. You hear the sounds of the other pillars fighting, katanas clanking against Muzan’s skin, feet crunching gravel. “We can’t let the others hang for long.”
Giyuu nods, stoic as ever, but you see conflict in his eyes. “I’ll get some of the eyes that Yushiro made,” he says, pointing to a few of the said masks on the ground a few feet away. “And you…”
He doesn’t say anything, probably thinking of the best course of action to take. You tear off a piece of your uniform and use it as a tourniquet over a ghastly cut on your leg, grimacing as you tie it as tight as you can. You barely hear Giyuu’s words.
“You need to go.”
You furrow your brows, looking at him. His eyes look a sort of way - wistful and sad, and you shake your head as soon as it hits you. “No - what? No, I’m not leaving.”
“Y/N,” he starts, and you turn back to your leg, giving your best momentary aid. It’s absurd, how he could expect you to just leave? After all the two of you have been through together, too, all the fights against other demons and training -
“No,” you say before he can say anything else. “I - I can’t just leave, we need to defeat Muzan. If you’re one man down -”
“It’s not safe -”
“I know it’s not safe, Giyuu! Our line of work isn’t exactly -”
“Y/N.”
Giyuu’s voice is stern, and it makes you stop. You blink at him, hesitating, and you get one sound of protest out before his hand rests gently over yours. The action surprises you so much and you know what it means, what he means. You’re lost in panicked thoughts until a loud crash pulls you out of your haze.
“I want to protect you,” he says, voice trembling. He won’t look at you, eyes hidden behind his hair as he looks down at his hand over yours. You want to believe his shaking gasp is out of physical pain, but you know it’s not. “I need to protect you... like I couldn’t protect the others.”
Your mind flashes to images of Tanjiro and Nezuko, to the time Giyuu finally told you about Sabito and how he’d cried to you. You had held him close then, pushed his face into the crook of your neck to muffle his sobs and rubbed his back until all the tears in his eyes were dry on your haori. It doesn’t take you long to understand that he’s doing this for him just as much as he’s doing it for you, but you can’t help the tears in your eyes.
“Giyuu, please don’t,” you say, and you feel horrible for crying when you’re supposed to be fighting. As strong as the other pillars are, Muzan is no threat to take lightly, especially now.
“Go,” Giyuu tells you, and he finally looks up at you. His eyes are wet with tears, too, sections of his face caked in blood and dirt. “You go and don’t even think about coming back here.”
“I can’t leave you,” you whimper, turning your hand in his grasp and gripping, hard. “Don’t make me leave you.”
He doesn’t say anything, only gets up on his feet with a grunt. You stand up too, too quickly, because your mind goes blank for a moment and your vision goes fuzzy. You’re hiccuping sobs as quietly as you can, because you know if Muzan suddenly becomes unoccupied with your comrades he’ll find you and come for you next. Giyuu stands in front of you, and the hand that isn’t gripping his broken sword comes up to cup your face. He doesn’t bother wiping the tears from your eyes.
“Next time,” he says. “In our next life, I’ll find you. I’ll find you and we’ll be happy. I promise.”
His voice is so soft that it makes your heart break. Giyuu offers whatever smile he can manage, and before you have a chance to hold him back or argue that you’re not leaving again, he collects Yushiro’s papers on the ground and darts back into the fight, faster than you can register.
I’ll find you.
Being near Sanemi made Giyuu want to ruin him, to take some of that goodness for himself, so that Sanemi could be selfish, and Giyuu could be brave.
Brave enough to say something dangerous, like I love you.
don't look at me
Surface Tension
Giyuu had spent so much of his life indulging in mourning.
He used to think that to mourn was to punish himself for his selfishness. He’d blamed himself for the deaths of his sister and the boy who had called him a brother, so he’d carried the two of them on his back along with the sword at his hip. He’d occupied his meaningless time on this earth with repentance. He’d hoped the weight of his guilt would bury him in the earth.
He’d lived here with Sanemi for months, and not much changed throughout that time. Funny how the most suicidal of them all had become the only two to survive. They’d bonded over this, fallen into a fast, unspoken rhythm, and when the time came to leave the Flower Estate, they’d built their own cabin, feeling like strangers in their own separate homes. They moved in together. Took care of each other, when necessary. And they stayed in the same routine.
More loss made Giyuu realize that his loved ones couldn’t live with him forever and that mourning only distracted him from what he still had. After Muzan’s fall, he came to terms with this. What he couldn’t come to terms with, with the weight off his back, was the absurd lack of guilt--and the foreign feelings that had come to replace it.
It was a rare day that Giyuu woke up earlier than Sanemi, but once he got up these days, he stayed up, not liking to wallow in depression as much as he used to. Sanemi looked exhausted, so Giyuu tiptoed outside, resolving to stay there until he woke up. The sun just barely kissed their greying garden. With all the birds gone south and the frogs in hiding, silence hung thick. Giyuu sat by the pond for nearly an hour, fall chill biting his face.
The sound of Sanemi’s footsteps, then, and the brushing of his clothes as he sat down sounded deafening in the dead silence, the same way a dim torch looked bright in the pitch black: like a lighthouse. Then, quiet overtook the pond again. Sanemi studied him. He must have noticed his pensiveness, because he tread carefully. Giyuu stared ahead.
"How are you?" Sanemi tried.
There's something wrong with me, Giyuu thought. I'm feeling things that I shouldn't. I'm not feeling the things I should.
"Fine," he answered.
"What are you doing?"
Mourning something that hasn't died yet. Maybe that hasn’t been born.
"Enjoying the quiet."
Sanemi was more perceptive than him--maybe if Giyuu thought loud enough, Sanemi would hear. Then, they'd never have to say it out loud. They could go on like this forever, just the two of them, and Giyuu found he wouldn't mind being alone so much if it was with Sanemi. As long as they could stay like this. Usually, Giyuu spoke his mind and took what he wanted, but he knew there were invisible lines somewhere dangerously close that if he crossed, would make Sanemi leave forever. He just had to keep absolutely still.
"I'll enjoy it with you."
Giyuu felt like the two of them were sailing, swaddled in a shriveled leaf barely light enough to stay afloat on the pond. The water cradled them, but if it rained, they would grow too heavy and drown. The wind rocked them, but if it grew too strong, it would blow them away and they'd lose their ship forever. Neither moved a muscle, on opposite sides of their fragile vessel, for fear that the weight of them both might break the surface. The surface tension of silence was the only thing keeping Giyuu and Sanemi from unknown depths.
Still, he reached for his hand.
The two of them said nothing for what felt both like seconds and hours. Sanemi said nothing of Giyuu's hand finding his own, sending ripples in the water, absently rubbing the stumps where his index and middle fingers used to live. Giyuu said nothing of the naturalness of that gap: the fingers must have hurt to lose, but the space they left was the perfect size for Giyuu's thumb. It felt like home. So did Sanemi’s hand when he slotted it under Giyuu’s right stump to prop him upright sometimes, though Giyuu would never say so out loud.
They'd both lost so much. Saying it out loud would only give them something more to lose.
Giyuu was selfish at heart.
“It’s so still, huh?” Sanemi mused. “You’d think it was frozen over.”
Giyuu hummed in reply.
“You cold?” Sanemi asked.
“Not really,” Giyuu answered, but found his shoulders tucked under Sanemi’s haori anyway. More ripples. He froze.
It had occurred to Giyuu from the very start that Sanemi embodied everything Giyuu wished he was. A true pillar. Someone able, even eager, to protect others, even at the cost of his own life. He didn’t even have to think about it. Maybe that was why Giyuu had resented him at first: he was just like Sabito. But in the end, despite his bravery, confidence, and ineffable strength in the face of loss, Sanemi was every bit as dumb as him, and on some level, maybe that had spurred Giyuu to let a little bit of that strength possess him toward the end. He only wished it had come sooner.
“I’m gonna start on breakfast.” Sanemi ruffled his hair. He leaned towards him standing up so that his nose--and lips--brushed the top of Giyuu’s head before he tipped back to his center. “Don’t stay out too long.”
He walked away.
Before Muzan's defeat, Giyuu had thought of Sanemi as stupid. He still thought as much. But Sanemi was brave, and selfless in a way that Giyuu never was. Giyuu had never so desperately wanted to make another person happy. Being near Sanemi made Giyuu want to ruin him, to take some of that goodness for himself, so that Sanemi could be selfish, and Giyuu could be brave.
Brave enough to say something dangerous, like I love you.
When Giyuu slid back inside, the smell of eggs and rice welcomed him. Sanemi’s back faced the entrance, clad in that faded purple yukata, and not for the first time Giyuu wondered how he managed to spend so much of his life killing and still look so at home in a kitchen. He must have been born to provide.
Giyuu could stare at that back from the door all day, but he was tired of being selfish, so instead, he squeezed in beside him at the counter and picked up a knife. The tension between them wavered again, but he ignored it. Saying nothing, Sanemi held a bundle of chives still with one hand so that Giyuu could chop it, his attention still on the eggs he was whisking, trusting Giyuu completely not to chop his fingers off. Giyuu worked slowly in comparison to Sanemi’s confident dashing, sprinkling, and whisking; he aligned each chop with care.
Even without the pond in front of them, Giyuu still felt that he could slip at any moment and drown. He considered going back to bed until he felt more stable. He didn't.
There wasn't much else Giyuu knew how to do in the kitchen department, but Sanemi never asked him to leave, only gently elbowing him aside when he stood in the way. Giyuu watched Sanemi season the egg and roll it, with unreal gentleness, into a lovely cylinder.
"You wanna eat in bed?" Sanemi offered. It was a habit Giyuu had picked up over years of living alone, and Sanemi never teased him for it. In fact, it felt a little less pathetic when someone joined him.
"Sure," he said despite himself.
They only ever ate on Giyuu's futon, because Sanemi liked to keep clean and Giyuu didn't give a shit. Dim light seeped in through the walls. Plates sat in their laps. He was glad Sanemi sensed his need for quiet, because he thought that if he spoke now, something he'd regret would slip out, and there would be no going back. At the same time, Sanemi's presence at his side, and the fact that he knew Giyuu well enough to stay quiet, drove him crazy, and he might just say it anyway. Giyuu stuffed his face to keep from talking.
Sanemi picked at his food. Giyuu forced himself to speak.
Don't be selfish, don't be selfish, don't be selfish.
"Is…" Giyuu swallowed, restraining his thoughts. "Is something wrong?"
Sanemi blinked as if he'd forgotten Giyuu was there. "Huh? No, I…" He met his eyes, making Giyuu's breath hitch. "Actually, I should be asking you that."
"Nothing's wrong," Giyuu whispered.
After a long moment, Sanemi averted his eyes again. Then, just as fragile as Giyuu:
"Okay."
The two were sinking. He could feel it. He tried to stuff his face some more, but he'd already cleaned his plate. He pointed to Sanemi's.
"Aren't you hungry?"
Sanemi misread his concern, pushing the plate toward Giyuu. "Knock yourself out."
Selfish, selfish, selfish.
"No, I…"
Sanemi looked so earnest, and Giyuu realized that every time he tried to show concern like Sanemi showed for him, it turned out like this. He always twisted it around so that he was accommodating for Giyuu, like he couldn’t imagine Giyuu wanting to be around him for any reason other than to take and take and take. Infuriating; endearing.
He thought about little Genya, and the happiness he'd wanted for his brother. Giyuu was the only one left to make that wish come true, if Sanemi would only let him. Their ship wavered dangerously. He wanted to scream. Finally, he couldn't stop himself:
"You're an idiot," Giyuu breathed.
Sanemi frowned. That hadn't come out right.
"Excuse me?"
Giyuu couldn't stop. "You're an idiot. Oh my god. You're so fucking stupid." The unmistakable urge to laugh bubbled up in Giyuu's chest, something he'd only learned to recognize over the past few months. "I can't believe this."
Giyuu laughed, clear as a bell, cutting through the tense quiet. Ripples exploded throughout the water, but the more he tried to stop them, the more the boat rocked. Sanemi had an unreadable expression, but he didn't look amused. He didn't even look angry. The closest thing Giyuu could compare it to…
Concern. Giyuu laughed harder.
"Moron," Giyuu wheezed, knocking the empty plate off his lap. "You absolute moron."
"Giyuu--"
"Sanemi." None of it mattered anymore. Giyuu was selfish, but that was okay; Sanemi was selfless to the point of stupidity, and if Giyuu didn't take what he wanted, no one would. "I want to take care of you. I care about you."
Sanemi stared dumbly. To get it through his thick skull, Giyuu moved closer, cupped his hand on Sanemi’s cheek like he always did for him, and spoke with absolute clarity:
“I love you.”
Any lingering doubt in Giyuu’s mind dispersed. Sanemi’s eyes went huge, reverent, and he stilled like if he breathed, Giyuu would turn to dust and disappear. Brave Sanemi--usually so brash, so confident. Giyuu felt a surge of pride that he could reduce him to this. He wanted to do it again. And again. And again.
"... Oh."
There was one more thing left to break.
"Sanemi," Giyuu breathed, breaking the last wall of silence, "can I kiss you?"
Sanemi didn't look away this time. He didn't even answer. He leaned in, so no barriers stood between them...
And he kissed him. And there was nothing left to mourn. And Giyuu kissed him back. And over the pounding in his ears, Giyuu couldn’t imagine ever sailing in silence again. And they kissed. And they kissed. And they kissed.
Giyuu drowned.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
thank you so so much again louie and aya for beta reading this!!!❤❤❤
Rate from 1-10 on how the demon slayers are under the sheets? +one kink each other Please for scientific reasons ♥
accept former demon slayers because im minusing the main characters and only including the pillars (sans muichirou) also, this is all my friend’s rating, not mine - i am in charge of the kinks ;’) *all kinks are in bold!
NSFW WARNING!
TOMIOKA GIYUU: 4/10; i... dont even know where to start with this. honestly, alright, i initially thought it would be a little higher but i guess i understand where jay is coming from. he can be a little awkward, i suppose, he doesnt really know how to deal with intimacy because of what happened to him in the past but i’d like to think that he’s passionate and prefers to hold his partner close to him when he finally got the hang of it. breeding kink (you know who you are) + sensory deprivation, mostly blindfolding.
RENGOKU KYOUJUROU: 10/10; for once, i agree with jay. they gave me some points on how passionate and intimate kyoujurou can be, but overall a fun partner to be with. giggles here and there, teasing and such; he’s a sweet guy and won’t do anything when his partner is uncomfortable with it - he respects his partner and their boundaries. hair pulling + praise kink, both giving and receiving.
SHINAZUGAWA SANEMI: 8/10; he fucks like his personality - rough and hard. although 99.9% of all intercourse sessions is him being rough, he tends to switch into being a softie from time to time when he needs the intimacy and closeness of his partner’s body against him. dont ever point that out to him though. light bondage.
KANROJI MITSURI: 10/10; i’d like to think that she’s around the same level as kyoujurou considering how passionate both of them can be, and plus she’s a hopeless romantic. she prefers intimacy over other things, even having sex with her partner is sending her over the moon. this what she’s been dreaming of, to have someone to love who loves her back as much as she loves them. lip biting, getting teased + praise kink.
UZUI TENGEN: looks at the camera like we’re in the office; jay didnt give him a rating because they argued that he got three wives already, he’s going to break the goddamn scale (and i agreed). much like my previous explanation on him and his kisses, i’d say that he masters every position there is when having sex - he’s an experimental kind of guy. but never, ever is he going to go anywhere near of hurting his lovers. dominated (role reversal) + light bondage.
HIMEJIMA GYOUMEI: 5/10; smack in the middle of the scale. much like giyuu, intimacy is rather hard for him but not because things happened but rather because he just doesnt really have the drive to do it. he’s afraid to hurt his partner considering his size, so he prefers to take it slow - and being in a relationship does not mean that you have to have sex anyway. size difference.
KOCHOU SHINOBU: 6/10; a little complicated, too much of a tease but she means well i promise. a little devil under the sheets, to be honest, because all she is going to do is tease her partner to the point of crying and begging until she finally gives in. but she’s an understanding lover, you don’t even need to tell her what you want, she already knows. edging, teasing + sensory deprivation.
IGURO OBANAI: 5/10; again, in the middle. he’s much like sanemi - hard and rough, but sweet afterwards. he likes to pin you down and have control, and domination is key, but he’s a worrywart that he has to ask his partner first before he actually does it. dominance, bondage + spanking.
BONUSES:
RENGOKU SHINJUROU: 8/10; not a high sex drive but a pretty experienced lover under the sheets. it’ll take a while for him to open up to his partner for a romantic relationship, let alone an intimate action, after the death of his late wife, but he tries. gagging + bondage (shibari).
SABITO: 7/10; not surprised jay gives him a higher rating than giyuu HAHAHA but i can see him as someone who does a lot of teasing in bed, but at the same time, it’s fun; in conclusion, he’s a fun partner to be with. he’s gentle with his actions, making sure that his partner is okay and that they know the safe word (yes, they established this because sabito is not having it). thigh kisses + semi-public.
TSUGIKUNI YORIICHI: 6/10; not really seeing him as someone who has a high sex drive either, but at the same time, he knows what he’s doing. his hands are sculpted by god himself and his tongue works heaven. he doesnt speak much during sex and he doesnt make much noise, he lives to serve so he’s going to do just that. fingering (giving) + cunnilingus.
cigarettes - sabito (fluff)
Assumptions made the boy hesitate to give his heart to her.
"You're smoking?"
Sabito did not reply to your high-pitched question, instead, inhaling more of the aired wisps and letting it out in the night, swept off with wind.
Offended at the lack of response, you stomped towards the man on the park and pulled the cancer stick out of his fingers – the putrid smell of acid smoke burns your nose unpleasantly, scrunching your face on the process.
Your coworker did not move on the bench, but he did set his eyes on you before huffing out the smoke in his mouth. Right on your face.
"Ugh, Sabito-!" You coughed and swat the dirty air away, completely letting go of the still burning stick to the ground.
The pink-haired man couldn't help but chuckle pleasantly at your reaction - finding it adorably cute, before grimacing at that sudden thought and looking back at the bright city view behind you with more focus than needed.
Truthfully told, he likes you – even much so that he thinks he might be falling for you. Any other day, he would have repeatedly tease you, soak up your attention – both good and bad – and try to get some charm points to get you to notice him but...
News on the corps you're already dating someone. On the fucking internet. Who the fuck does that?
Sabito scorned at the thought of losing you to some stranger he couldn't even punch of.
That's why he's here, smoking miles away from where you parked on your own car, but can you believe his terrible luck? You're here too.
His mind wants to ease his thoughts off you, take his moment to be fond of the cigarette taste in his tongue rather than his mind wandering of what your kiss would taste like, and maybe perhaps go to a bar and drink this stupid, dejected feeling away.
But here you are; your very being torments him in such, disgusting(ly good) way.
"You shouldn't smoke you damn idiot! You already got sick last week with a stupid cold," you crossed your arms and shot him an unhappy look, giving him your side eye with a cute sneer to boot.
"Now you're going to kill yourself slowly with a literal cancer stick? Unbelievable!" You lecture him as you always do whenever you see him doing 'bad' things, and usually... he would have soaked them all up as he watches your lips move tantalizingly, wandering when he could kiss them until he'll snapped out by a good slap on the back with a foreboding threat coming from you.
This time, he's not in the mood to even breathe in the same air as you. Sabito did not hide his growing frown. He doesn't know if you're doing this for fun, or you're just torturing him. Because all of you - your words, your act - they all seems to relay on him with mixed messages.
And he hates them. He's sick of them. Perhaps part of you for dating someone else that isn't him too. But he also hated the fact you're acting 'concern' to him when just a day ago, you threw a memo pad on his temple after taking the last bite from your pudding.
With your hurtful words of his habit traveling from one ear and another, Sabito mused at that one thought.
He has to say, the dessert you craved so much is sweeter with your taste on it. Always have been. Then again, he couldn't pull the same stunt anymore now that you're in a 'relationship'.
Sabito let out a long, dreaded sigh at such reality. With an aggro tone, the man folded his hands on his chest and blankly stared at you with tired lavender eyes.
"Now why would you care?"
Your jaw dropped at his sudden question and your eyes widened in disbelief – shutting yourself up from your minutes long lecture about the importance of a healthy lung.
He usually just listens to you with a sly smirk on his face, so you didn't expect him to ask such a trivial question now out of the blue.
You expected him to defend himself – maybe tease his way out like other times - not counter you with such a sentimental question.
"It's bad for the health!" You retorted quickly, too quickly for the pillar to notice your ever blushing form. "It's common sense!"
"Common sense?" Sabito tilted his head like a sly fox scrutinizing its prey. "Do you snatch cigarettes from every smoking person you see in this district?"
One of your eye twitched at his sarcastic tone, before blushing madly at the way his amethyst eyes looked up at you with sharpness that makes you feel judged.
"N-no, but-"
Sabito hummed nonchalantly, sitting straight from the bench and walked towards you.
"Is that so?"
Each step he takes is like an earthquake that shook your core, and with an expression like that; Narrowed eyes, teasing grin and a sense of luster of colors in those purple mirrors - you couldn't help but be frozen in your place out of shock of this new light on his personality.
"I'm asking you again this time," Sabito took your chin with his thin fingers, the pads rough on your skin and creating an evident contrast that warms your cheek. When his sharp nose brushed on yours, you felt your breath-hitching in your throat. You find it impossible to pull yourself away, especially when he's staring you down with soulful lidded eyes.
He exhaled, the warmth on his breath flushing your face just as his question did to your chest.
"Why do you care?"
The telltale of smoke in his breath lingers, and you feel like you're melting from both the heat from your cheeks and the way his body pressing against yours.
"I-I," you gulped, heart ramming in your chest – vision dizzying from the focus you have instilled in his stare. "Just care for you..."
A hand gripped your shoulder, squeezing them with a tight hold - and before you know it, you're pinned on the nearby street lamp with Sabito smirking down at you like a predator would a helpless prey.
"Easy, isn't it?" Warm lips stretched tantalizingly slow, before disappearing besides you - the soft flesh skimming against your ear.
He whispered your name huskily. "I'd like more of your honesty next time."
___
Sabito spat out the tea you prepared for him, getting an earful from you at the process. "Can you not? I just finished cleaning the house."
"So you're saying..." His body started shaking at suppressing his laughter as his fingers traveled up to his hair and gripped on them - eyes closed and a big aloof grin on his face. "You're 'dating' an anime character? On a game?"
My kami. Why.
You slumped your shoulders exaggeratedly and looked at him with a lost, yet annoyed expression. "Is it really that hard to believe?"
He cannot. Sabito can't-
Full blown laughter echoed around the room - the deep octaves of his voice trembled in your chest as you tried hard to scrubbed the tea of your beloved floor.
"Shut up" You shouted, embarrassed and cheeks warm from his joy. "I'd rather date someone who'll love me for me even if they're just two dimensional."
Laughter soon became dying wheezes as Sabito threw himself on the floor at your reply - cradling his stomach as tears bites his lavender eyes. Shit, he doesn't know if he'll feel bad at your predicament or relieved that you're single, but holy shit.
Why have you torture him with this information? Why? He might as well sounds like a broken woodpecker right now.
You glared at this man before throwing a dry towel at his face in tantrum, hoping he'd suffocate from it. "Well if you think that's funny - don't dare try to kiss me and ask if I'm single on the same night, you damn idiot." Crossing your arms, you couldn't help but puff your cheeks at the memory - sure it affected you since you do care for this man more than you wanted to but, you felt belittled after telling the damn truth. "I should've just screamed rape when I had the chance."
"You know," Sabito composed himself, a hand on your coffee table as he inhaled the much needed air for his lungs. "You don't need to date something two dimensional. When you can date me."
The sight of your face suddenly fuming red made the man laugh an easy laugh and he did not hesitate in pulling you against him for another kiss.
And the way you melted against him made him crave for more.
Sabito cradled your head and gripped your hair with a soft hold, tugging on it lightly to make you gasp. The air that escaped your lips traveled down in his stomach in a pleasant buzz. He captured your lips with ferocity that melted your frame against him, his hand traveling down to hold you down on his lap to feel you more.
Your arms snaked around his neck, and the weight of them settled on his chest as your own pressed against his - the feel of your tongue against his own drugged him with lust, and he pulled himself away from your lips to trail down kisses down your neck to savor more of you; groaning appreciatively when your back arched before him. And the moaned you gave him when he latched on your neck with a soft bite egged him to do more.
The way you smell... your reactions, and how you feel above him - all of those did no justice with the way you uttered his name in a breathless plea, and it made him stop to kiss your lips with a lust-filled apology leaving his own.
Because Sabito hopes you'd forgive him for what he'll do to you tonight.
When he only need to ask the truth and receive hers.
It was a few months of planning your wedding. The two of you came to the consensus that you’d want a private wedding with just the two of you and the shrine you’d be wed at. You wanted to tell people but it embarrassed you at the same time to tell others so the two of you stood silent about it for the most part.
The two of you had asked Oyakata-sama for two-three days off for your wedding day and a time to relax and a honeymoon. You didn’t want to be gone from your duties too long since demons needed slaying and people needed protection. Little did you know though that Oyakata-sama had something planned
The day of your wedding came up and the two of you spent the entirety of the mornings getting ready, much to Giyuu’s displeasure of being dolled up. It was somewhat hard to be able to move and hold your swords at your hips for safety reasons but somehow you two made it work. (Although it was much easier for Giyuu than you. You wore a Shiromuku, a beautiful white kimono that made you look absolutely stunning to Giyuu. Your hair was put up out of your face with a few hair decorations just barely visible with the headdress on top of it. Giyuu’s eyes landed on a particular hair clip he’d given you a long time ago. He smiled softly as his eyes slowly trailed to look you in the eye. In this moment you were all he could look at. The outfit perfectly complimenting you and the red lipstick that made him want to kiss you so badly in that moment.
His outfit made him look amazing. He wore a Monstuki, his haori, and hakama. In all honesty if you looked from afar it wouldn’t look like his appearance had changed because of his haori but up close he looked heavenly. His hair was it’s usual mess with a few braids you may or may not have put in there. If anything stood out to you at this moment it would be his eyes. The black montsuki and hakama almost made his ocean eyes pop. They were so deep and now filled with so much light and love, you knew this was going to be the best day of your life.
He reached out to gently caress your face and you leaned your head into his hand. His hands were rough but it was nice somehow. In that moment Giyuu started having doubts about everything. “Do I really deserve her? Do I really have any right to call her mine? Does she even-” along with his thoughts his hand started shaking as he caressed your face and your eyes opened to see Giyuu’s eyes forming tears.
“Giyuu what’s wrong?” You asked as you wiped away his tears, with now you holding his face.
“It’s nothing..” His smile said it all.
“Giyuu… You don’t need to worry. I want to marry you here today. Don’t you think for a second I don’t want this and you don’t deserve this. You’re going to make me the happiest woman alive today. No- you already have.” As you spoke tears started feeling your eyes. You were just so happy to be able to be with Giyuu. He was the live of your life and now you’ll get to be with him forever.
His eyes widened as you spoke and eventually softened to a smile as he started to cry more. He let out a soft laugh as he hugged you tightly. “I love you.”
The two of you held hands as you were walked to the shrine by the shrine maidens and the music played. You took a bow in front of the shrine before entering and sitting down inside the pavilion.
The Sankon no gi had begun when the Shinto Priest had announced your wedding to the Gods. Giyuu’s sake was poured first to which he drank it. Next was you and you drank yours as well. It was done three times and each time a bigger sake cup and more sake.
Finally it was time to read the vows the shrine prepared for you to the Gods. Giyuu had read it to the Gods as you stood next to him. “On this great day, before the Ookami, we are sincerely thankful for this ceremony. Going forward, we will love each other, trust one another, share the good times and the bad, and swear that this will stay unchanged throughout our lifetime.” When he finished he placed the paper into the table before him.
The shrine maidens handed the two of you a sprig from a flowering evergreen tree. You both held the sprig before you and bowed slightly and you both made prayers to the Shinto god. As your prayers were done both sprigs were placed on the table and you both bowed to the Shinto god. Standing up straight you clap your hands twice, bowed again, and turned around to the shrine maidens. They held your wedding rings and you and Giyuu were finally able to exchange rings.
And with that the ceremony was done. When the two of you exited the shrine you expected to be able to stretch a bit and change back into uniforms and head towards your honeymoon but…
“Congratulations!!” A sudden burst of yelling startled both of you as you both instinctively went to grab your swords.
“Ah~ no need to be so on guard it’s just us!” Shinobu clapped her hands together and smiled sweetly as per usual
“KYAA I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE FINALLY MARRIED!! OYAKATA-SAMA TOLD US YOU’D BE GETTING MARRIED TODAY AND WE COULDN’T HELP BUT COME TO CONGRATULATE YOU TWO!!"
Almost all the pillars were here long with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
"Apologies Shinazugawa and Gyomei couldn’t make it here! Shinazugawa-san said he didn’t want to come and Gyomei-san had a mission to do!” Rengoku spoke loudly and maybe a little too honest there. His usual passion being present in his voice as he also congratulated the two of you being married.
In all honesty the two of you didn’t know what to say to them. You were both sort of embarrassed they cared to congratulate you and also that they may or may not have seen that scene between the two of you before the ceremony.
Mitsuri pulled everyone along with her as they came closer to you. “We all prepared dinner for you!! Let’s get going to it!! We don’t mean to interrupt your honeymoon but we all thought we’d celebrate with you!!”
Giyuu nodded his head yes and then looked at you to see if it was OK. “We’d love to celebrate with you! But what about the demons shouldn’t you all be on missions? I don’t want to let anything bad happen…”
“Don’t worry about it! We made sure all to finish our missions and we’re ready to leave if we have an emergency!” Rengoku spoke up again as he turned around heading to, you could only assume, the restaurant. A big laugh left his mouth as he started walking and Mitsuri started copying him.
You supposed it was alright.. Hopefully nothing bad happens with this many pillars away… Tanjiro walked up to you handing you a small gift. “Here! It’s from all of us! We’re all really happy for you!” The gift was wrapped up neatly in a box with a ribbon on it. You opened it to find a matching pair of earrings! They were tear dropped shaped and a lovely deep shade of blue. “Ones for each of you so you can match!” He exclaimed before walking away to join the rest of the group.
At this point everyone was already taking you off to go eat so it looked like you were going to be in the shiromuku for a lot longer than you thought.
A Smile appeared on his face. Not on Giyuu’s face and not on any of the pillars. But a boy in the distance by the shrine. “Sabito..?” But before Giyuu could even start walking the boy faded away. “Congratulations Giyuu. Continue living for us won’t you?"
Giyuu nodded his head wiping away a tear that started to form. You saw him wipe away a tear but you knew why, you saw that boy before you saw Giyuu at the shrine. All he told you was to make him happy and that he was happy Giyuu found someone as wonderful as you. You placed a hand on Giyuu’s shoulder. "Let’s go, Love.” You smiled as softly as you could and started walking off with him.
