sorry for the lack of posts. I got super busy out of nowhere! I'm working on a batch of scarabia memes rn that will be out sometime later today. my blog theme doesn't reflect it, but I gotta set the record straight, scarabia is my favorite dorm lol

since I'll probably be busy for a while, I most likely won't be putting out another big batch of memes for some time, but I'll post them individually/in small batches.

i saw your post with that anon’s comment about mischaracterization and i’m still fuming over it.

wow a meme is not perfectly accurate to the original source? that’s absolutely bonkers!! i cannot believe someone would make a joke where they exaggerate a character’s funny/unique personality trait. crazy. truly disgusting, despicable, maybe even down-right deplorable tbh.

like… hello?? yeah no shit, it’s not meant to be canon media. you’re making jokes, you’re not making an entire god damn story. besides, they’re not real people, simplifying their personalities to make it fit for humor’s sake doesn’t mean you don’t have media literacy. ironically, the characters themselves are exaggerations of the original medias. hades was not a loser with an addiction to video games (no offense idia <3). epel is based off the fucking poisonous apple snow white ate. so to make stuff like “wouldn’t it be funny if azul said this” “imagine if leona posted this” “i could see jamil thinking this in his head”isn’t misrepresenting. like you said, you’re not critically analyzing them. you’re not even making serious content to begin with. BUT, even if you were, even if someone genuinely has absolutely zero media literacy and misunderstands a character’s action, their motive, their entire personality, i still think that anon comment would be an asshole thing to say… fun fact! you can politely give your opinion and why you think they’re wrong without being a condescending little shit. it’s not that hard to be like “honestly i don’t think rook would do/did this because blah blah” or something, anything, remotely helpful. and even then, people still don’t have to listen to that either. someone could post the dumbest analysis ever made about cater and they’d still have the right to that opinion, regardless if it’s the most outlandish thing anyone has ever said. but i digress 🙈

it seems like it's a trend lately (especially on tiktok, but here too) to complain about mischaracterization in literal memes. the whole point is that it's humorous content, made to be taken lightly. it doesn't mean that one meme is a summary of the entire character.

can you imagine how depressing most some fandoms would be if every piece of fan content was a reflection of the character's complexities...

I'm not sure if you noticed, but i only post memes. Not any kind of content that is supposed to be a serious reflection of the characters :)

You must be unfamiliar with memes, which are very different from character analyses.

Leona mentions that scars are seen as a sign of bravery in the Sunset Savanna... so I assume that a lot of people probably find them sexy. I'm not sure if Yuu walks the red carpet with the boys in Tapis Rogue but like... can you imagine a Yuu with a really noticeable facial scar they didn't use makeup to cover up and everyone in the Savanna just going wild on magicam as soon as those pictures drop. Yuu checks their phone to see that they're trending because one very specific group of people is down bad horrendous and it broke containment.
