all those jokes about jon making fun of the statements in early tma are basically only applicable to like. Two statements. one of which was because he's afraid of spiders.

for every other statement he's like "this is bullshit obviously, but just in case we've asked the police and tracked down the person who owned the building and personally tried to go find the statement giver and the monster and the evil artifact that maybe kills people. obviously I can't research this 300 year old hand written letter but just in case I've checked the family history of every name that popped up and tracked them down to connect with Another statement. this person that the statement giver mentioned for 30 seconds is actually a part of this Specific cult that I am intimately familiar with the history of, I will now read that out in detail. yes this statement was just a dream that someone with a fake name told us about but Just In Case we should take it very seriously.
