The thing with mclennon and love confessions is their relationship just seems so twisted and shrouded in layers of indirection that I straight up cannot picture them having a sincere, vulnerable conversation without it turning into some bizarre game of self destructive one-upsmanship. Like if John ever told Paul he was gay I feel like Paul would've just said "Well I'm gayer."
