Roderick and Suzy, living the high life at their penthouse. At that time Roderick had covered his gray hair, so it looks slightly darker. Suzy had grown hers long and for some reason her skintone wasn't the original one, I've since changed them both. 😊

One house can hold so many stories. When City Entertainment started the 17th season of Little Celebrity and put this cast together, they knew they were going to have a great show. Katelyn Missoni and Apollo Bloom provide plenty of vacuous entertainment while Kirby Wise lusts after a prominent politician in town. William Fangmann is too smart for his own good, but does he know who his secret admirer is?

DEVIN ASHTON - Gossip and the Rain
Amid a critically acclaimed film, a successful role in a Wideway musical and now a Simflix series dedicated to all his feuds and problematic behavior in the entertainment industry, we look back on the former One Reflection member's debut solo album as its released on vinyl for the first time.
Tumblr media
Devin Ashton and his record label Maxis Music Machine have announced that they will be releasing Ashton's first two albums on vinyl, including his solo debut album Gossip and the Rain.
----
Gossip and the Rain is the solo debut album by Simerican entertainer Devin Ashton. Released via Maxis Music Machine, it was released after he departed from the pop group One Reflection and, therefore, makes him the first former member of the group to release a solo album.
A pop record with alternative and indie pop influences, Ashton wrote all the original songs on the album while its production was handled by acclaimed award-winning producers Buster Round, Ebenezer Clavier, Bart Hammer, Aria Trill and Suzy Strummer. The album features one covered song, "Spinning The Wheel".
Despite low expectations from critics of the album's quality considering Ashton's reputation at the time, the album received mixed to positive reviews, receiving zero negative reviews from professional critics. Critics praised the album's production and considered it the album's "saving grace"; Ashton's writing and vocal performance received mixed responses, with some noting that pitch correction was heavily used on Ashton's vocals.
The album debuted at number twenty-five on the Simboard 200 and ultimately peaked at number twelve. It has since been certified Platinum by the Plumbob Recording Assocation Academy (PRAA).
The album spawned four singles: "Help Me Run Away", "Spinning the Wheel", "Somebody Else" and "Physical", which were all released in quick succession from each other. The album's first three singles reached the top forty on the Simboard Heat 100 while its final single, "Physical", reached the top twenty.
----
----
SINGLES FROM THE ALBUM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The album's singles (from clockwise starting top left): "Help Me Run Away", "Somebody Else", "Spinning The Wheel" and "Physical".
"Help Me Run Away"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #30]. Devin's solo debut single.
"Somebody Else"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #34]. Another artist quickly covered and released their version as single, with it charting higher that Devin's original version.
"Spinning The Wheel"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #21; certified Gold]. Originally done by a legendary singer and released earlier in his career, long before Devin even began singing professionally, Devin covered the song for fun but was surprised the label chose it to be released as a single. Though the legendary singer appreciated Devin's version, he asked the label (that they were both signed to) to pull it from radio which they obliged, ultimately halting promotion for Devin's version. The legendary singer then re-released his original version, where it reached the top ten on the Simboard Heat 100. Of all the singles on the album, Devin did not film a video for this single. Many speculated that it would've reached the top twenty had it continued to be promoted by the label.
"Physical"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #16; certified Platinum]. Devin's first top twenty hit and eventually first Platinum single.
----
Devin was roasted for the album's surprisingly (and relatively) low first week sales as many expected better from a former member of the most popular boy band in the world, One Reflection - even if he was the least popular member of said group! Despite the album not receiving any nominations during the awards seasons, Ashton quickly released his sophomore album which received a better critical response and got him his first nominations and his first top ten hits as well!
The album's release on vinyl comes after an extremely busy time for the multi-hypenated entertainer. Not only did he receive acclaim for his acting performances in the film Good Broadcasting Service this past Summer and in the Wideway musical hit Security this past Spring, he is now the main subject of scandalous new Simflix docuseries titled Everyone Hates Devin, which details his past and current feuds and his supposed problematic antics in the entertainment industry. The show has received positive reviews so far though Devin has yet to comment on it.
Tumblr media
Courtesy of Maxis Music Machine, the album is now available on vinyl in two colors: black and cobalt blue! Also available on CD, cassette, digital download and streaming.

A Visit From St. Vicious by Donny The Punk
Twas the night before New Years and everyones drunk, Not a rocker was stirring not even a punk The baggies were hung by the phono with care, in hopes that Saint Vicious, yes Sid would be there The Ramones were sold out so we stayed in our sheds, While visions of slammers danced in our heads Suzy with hashpipe and I dressed in black, We had just settled in for a long playing track From out in the alley there arose such a clatter, I crawled from the couch to see what was the matter Away from the window I lurched with a crash, Tearing a poster I had from The Clash The strobe light, the acid, the new snorted snow, Gave a luster of dayglo to the objects below When to my unfocused eye should appear, A miniature stage and a band I could hear With a singer who danced by the pogo he did, I knew in a moment it must be Saint Sid More rapid than Springsteen their rhythm it came, He snarled and shouted and called them by name "Now Strummer, now Darby, now Joey Ramone On Bators, on G.G., on Cook, and on Jones To the top of the amps kick over the wall, ANARCHY ANARCHY ANARCHY ALL!" As punks before a show go out to get high, They all started to pogo and mount to the sky Up through the window the rockers they flew, with powerful speakers and Saint Vicious too And them with a twinkling I heard on the trunk, The yelling and cursing of each famous punk As I drew form my pipe and was turning around, Down the vent shaft came Saint Vicious with a bound Dressed all in black from his head to his toe, A chain from his shoulder to regions below A black leather jacket was flung on his back, He looked like a heretic freed from the rack His eyes how the flashed, his sneer so merry, He staggered right in, his breath smelled of sherry His greasy black hair was drawn up in a spike, And the other old punkers were attired alike A portable mic he held in his hand, And "Holidays In The Sun" issued forth from the band To be followed by "Anarchy In The UK", "God Save The Queen","EMI", and "My Way" They played so loud, the records fell from my shelf, And I gasped when I saw them in spite of myself A wink from his eye and dope for my head, Sid let me know I should pogo instead He handed me tickets and whispered "Ramones", Snorted some coke and yelled "Fuck All Discos!" He jumped to the stand, Saint Vicious with a shout, The band jammed on until poor Sid passed out But I heard him exclaim with the last of his might, SCORCHING PUNK ROCK TO ALL, AND TO AN AWFUL GOOD NIGHT!

And a bonus teaser, featuring a coupla sims nobody knows yet.
Suzy Strummer and Ebenezer Clavier are Bridgeport sims, like Bo and Flo, so their appearance isn’t all that random. In fact, Suzy and Lilly-Bo are buddies in TS3, so for my purposes, this party is where they met.
I promised to do character profiles way back when, so that’s still on the list. But one quick note: in her proper game, Suzy Strummer plays...the drums. Probably because, iirc, guitar was the only instrument in the game until Late Night/ Bridgeport so they wanted to show off the new ones, but still. Her name is Suzy Strummer and so in my rendition, strummin' be what she does!

I am back in brooklyn!! and entirely ready to graduate from college but also entirely not ready to go back to class tomorrow!! expect plenty more art to be made while I’m procrastinating on my actual responsibilities and having several existential crises
in other news last night I went to Strummer Jam and it was excellent and I love Jesse Malin and it was extraordinary to see Frank Iero and Tommy from the Replacements and HR from Bad Brains and Cait from the Pogues and Suzi from L7 and all the other iconic people who got up there to celebrate Joe Strummer. I took a bunch of photos so hopefully I’ll have those rolls processed and scanned by tomorrow or Tuesday

Tiara: That'll teach you not to mess with me, you little bimbo! It took Suzy a few seconds to come out of her shock. Suzy: Oh, my God. How dare you? This is outrageous, I'll call the police! Tiara: Go ahead, they're all friends of mine, they'll take my side for sure.
Tumblr media
Suzy: We'll see if they'll take your side when I tell them you broke into my house and assaulted me! Tiara: Cause you stole my husband from me! Suzy: I didn't steal anything. You're dead! So Roderick isn't your husband anymore! Just at that moment, Roderick finally appeared.
Tumblr media
Roderick: Girls? What's going on here? Why are you screaming like that, have you gone crazy? Suzy: Ask your 'deceased' wife. She's the one who attacked me. Now, you throw her out or I throw her myself? Tiara: Roderick throw me out? Ha! That's never gonna happen.

There's a knock at the door, likely it's Suzy coming home from work.
Tumblr media
Tiara isn't the least bit worried. Roderick is. How will he explain to Suzy the sudden presence of his 'other' wife, not precisely as a ghost anymore, but in the flesh?
Tumblr media
Well, Roderick didn't beat around the bush and quickly explained to her how his son Randy had gone to great lengths to revive his mother, and had succeeded. Suzy was naturally shocked to hear such disturbing news.
(To be Continued)

Tiara: You can't kick me out. This is Roderick's house, and he's my husband, therefore it is MY house!
Tumblr media
Next thing you know, Tiara slapped Suzy! Tiara : This is so that you - don't - forget!
Tumblr media
The vicious attack took Suzy by surprise. Did Bradford do anything? Of course not, he just sat there like a mummy. Maybe he thought it was none of his business, and in a way he's right. But then where's Roderick? Hiding somewhere? Talk about fight or flight! 🙄

As expected, there was an instant clash between Suzy and Tiara. Suzy: Who are you? Tiara: No. Who are you? Suzy: I'm Roderick's wife. Tiara: No way. I am Roderick's wife.
Tumblr media
Suzy: Nonsense. You died, Roderick married me, end of the story. Now get out of my house.
Tumblr media
Tiara: 'Get out of my house', yeah right. Suzy: I'm not kidding, Tiara. Get out of here now or I'll kick you out myself. Tiara: Really? Oooh, that's scary, look how I'm trembling. Suzy: I said OUT!
