Help an Ultrakill dev recover from acute parietal haematoma
"Hello, my name is Lois and I have created this GoFundMe to assist in my twin brother's recovery from an acute parietal haematoma.
This massive brain bleed has resulted in paralysis of the right side of the body, extreme weakness in the rest of his body, and the inability to speak. Current cognitive status is still been evaluated.
There is a long road to recovery ahead, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology."
The quake mapper and 3d modeler Samuel2213 recently suffered a Parietal Haematoma. It happened a few days ago and he's stable, but he has a long road to recovery, and is lucky to be alive.
He's a lead 3d modeler for Ultrakill and Wrath Aeon of Ruin, he did the models for gabriel, v1, and many of the other enemies. if you love those games please help out. Here's some of his work you might know.
A bit about the enemies from our short Round based bit-size Arena FPS. The game still on it's first steps of development, so every information here is not final and are subject to change.
Nickname: BEBEZIN
The "Lil Baby" is a common enemy that attacks the player by jumping from far away (almost flying through the map). They die with one hit but they always spawn in great numbers and are hard to hit due to how fast they jump.
Nickname: LINGUIÇA
Do you know the Kleer skeletons from Serious Sam? These work almost the same, running to players and jumping toward them. They can try evading attacks by flanking players after being hit. They are dangerous in great numbers.
Nickname: SONAMBULO
They move slower but attack from afar, they are capable of throwing projectiles toward the player, easy to dodge by the way, but the player needs to be in constant movement.
Nickname: TORRETA
These fast creatures lock their position to shoot a long beam of light that penetrates through obstacles. They not only target the player but also try to shoot in the direction the player is moving, this means that running away from them is a bad idea. The best tactic is to try to confuse them by changing direction when you notice they are about to fire. They should be a priority, as it is almost impossible to run from other enemies when one of these guys is active.
Nickname: CABEÇÃO
They stand guard in a high position and never leave. They are harmless from a long distance tho. Getting too close can be fatal, as they spit a handful of "grenades" around them.
I am a disabled, trans, and queer game designer looking to live again to afford medication, sustained housing, therapy/psychiatry, and some money to save for emergencies.
We have been doing very well with the Help Me Exist Again game bundle (linked here), but we need one final push, as we only have 2 DAYS left to raise some funds.
So, if you would like $80 of games for $25 to get HUNDREDS of hours of games and also change my life, buy the bundle below!
In this bundle, you can obtain:
GRIM, a retro FPS styled TTRPG inspired by Quake.
Neon Nights, a cyberpunk TTRPG with nearly infinite build variety, and it's two MASSIVE expansions!
Wrath of the Undersea, a TTRPG where you play as vengeful Eldritch peoples trying to reclaim the colonized surface.
Disk Master's expansions, where you can live out your Pokemon or Digimon dream on pen and paper!
This money will go towards affording therapy, medication, possible HRT (I am still deciding), and a new computer for work and enjoyment.
This money is life-saving, allowing me to not be on the verge of living with my parents in a transphobic county that is damn near a sundown town for trans people. I really need this money to live, and I would be eternally grateful if you could reblog and send this sale to someone who you think would help.
And if you can't support the bundle or any games, or just plain wanna help another way, head to my Linktree below for my Patr3on, Kofi, and other things.
In honor of Steam recognizing Boomer Shooter as a genre of games, I will now be referring to GRIM as a "Boomer Shooter Inspired TTRPG" despite its title.
Hell yeeeeeeeeee. I use retro FPS more often, but I think Boomer Shooter really does encapsulate the new era of games like Turbo Overkill, CULTIC, and DUSK that are different than their "retro" counterparts. Also, the name is silly, and I love it.
If you'd like to have a slice of that Boomer Shooter feeling in a TTRPG in a Quake-inspired medieval and sci fi horror world, give GRIM a spin!
