Seriously why is baldur’s gate 3 200GB I’ll probably get the game at some point in the future cause I know how good it is but I wish I could just get a version of the game with none of the high quality graphics installed in it even if It looked significantly worse because the graphics are absolutely not what I care about the most when playing the game.

I’ve said this before but Ives said it again the entire triple A games industry should go back to making games that have graphics similar to the PS3 and Xbox 360 because video game file size and graphics requirements have made a lot of amazing triple A modern games inaccessible to a lot of people.

#I know what I’m kind of describing is Nintendo switch games #but Nintendo has its own very major problems #but if Nintendo can continuously have big grand game experiences like the modern Zelda games and other titles #that have graphics from 2 generations ago and still be highly praised #the rest of the industry can make amazing lower quality graphics games #if that doesn’t happen I’ll probably still be mostly sticking to indies #ultrakill is less than 2gb and is one of the best games I’ve ever played bo other game has an excuse #video games #video game graphics #triple a games #bg3 #baldur’s gate 3 #balders gate 3 #baldurs gate 3 #video game rant

[+] my revision of formulation for the whole study & thesis was majorly approved, ppl can no longer pretend to or actually be lost

[+] minion² was contained, showed up in person and got the sense that no one was going to take his nonsense

[+] no major disagreement between the supes, all subteams understand their tasks

[-] back-to-back-to-back meetings w advisors, integrators, external working groups, and study lead in the next two weeks

[-] i have to finish reading... 15+ papers and compile their data

[-] fix a data structure implementation in my optimization model that i had promised since... nov last year lol (it wasn't entirely necessary. until now)

we'll see if i'm in the mood for stress relief writing instead of just stress relief daydreaming... there's a lot of stuff for every fic but it's all over the place. tpac hyperfixation is still holding strong (esp when compared to all other wips, it is second place for most concrete ending + actual epilogue)

(first place is larb bc every chapter is outlined and scoped; just haven't felt like writing it)

(not saying the other fics don't have planned endings but besides their plot i don't have the context for the endings yet. the shape of the ending scenes are very much informed by the long, in-between chapters)

Lucifer doesn't care how the labcoats say it works; he knows there's no such thing as a clean break from a drift the minute the plug is pulled. Instead, Michael goes from a second consciousness beside his own to being dragged out of Lucifer the further Lucifer gets from him, both of them gripping tight to the connection until it slips, until it snaps, with a violent recoil that knocks Lucifer's brain out of alignment and reminds his legs that they don't work. His next step falls too fast, too heavily, and refuses to take his weight. It's only Michael, now only a voice outside of Lucifer's head yelling his name, catching him from behind that allows Lucifer to collapse to the floor with his dignity intact.

#is this more than one sentence? yes. yes it is. because tumblr deleted this post once and pissed me off.#i had so many tags about lucifer already and boom. gone.#anyway. tfw you see your boyfriend get severely injured during a battle and this makes you panic so bad you manage to make it a few meters #which is a lot for a guy who can't actually walk.#lucifer's got a whole Situation. turns out plugging a guy's brain up to a giant robot is not without its bugs.#especially when said guy was one of the first to be stuck inside the giant robot with his brother. and testing was a lower priority due to #everyone wanting a faster solution to the Giant Fucking Monsters. so lucifer's brain got overloaded and can't send signals to his legs #anymore to move right unless he's hooked up to a mech. technically when this first happened the doctor told him 'well if you stop doing mec #shit you can walk again.' but 1) he's not doing that. and 2) that was years ago. just because that recommendation is still on a file #somewhere doesn't mean it would actually work for him. or even that it would have back then. it's still the official answer for 'fixing' hi #because that's better optics than the truth. which is that he can't walk.*#(technically. technically. if he was left disconnected from the mech for a week he could walk. it would also be exhausting. and painful.#and slow. this is not something lucifer considers to be helpful information when he moves faster and with more ease in his chair.#this is something other people like to point out about him that makes him want to start hitting them. and it's not even really true anymore #the 'a week disconnected' thing. again. was a long time ago. it would take over a month for him to stand nowadays.)#(v few people Get all of this but like. michael is one of them. he's in lucifer's head enough that it would be weirder for him not to get i #add to that him being one of the few people who has seen lucifer walk nowadays and focused more on 'hey he looks like he hates that'#than praising it. and he gets it. and is also the requisite amount of annoyed when lucifer *runs off* before michael can help him into his #chair!! not the first time this has happened and will not be the last. michael's used to catching him.)#ask #oh my god that was so much rambling. this isnt even the point of the fic btw. this is just. backstory. worldbuilding.

i'm going to the dentist for the first time in ages today and i'm so nervous because i've been shit at taking care of my teeth these past few depression years and i'm so scared of the dentist giving me shit for it. if they do i guess i'll tell them i've been depressed. or maybe that's a bad idea. idk.

I’m not gonna lie, the end of the lower decks premiere did Not entirely do it for me because, if taken as some people are doing so as a bit of a dig at Discovery’s choice to have starfleet scapegoat Michael, it Still failed to recognise that the problem there wasn’t Just the scapegoating, but Also the fact that starfleet takes its prisoners and forces them to do physical labour to earn their keep. The same thing the evil empire does in star wars that is shown as a facet of an evil empire. That trek, the utopia, apparently sees no issue with???

They could have just had Beckett mention what could happen to her mom in passing, like, what Would have happened to her had she been convicted? It never seems to enter anybody else’s minds and Beckett is too frantic to go there, but I’m rlly sick of the Trek universe using that bit of world building without a shred of self awareness.

and yes, it’s a funny cartoon, but they managed to get a point across about the other thing in a funny way, they could have managed it. Yes I am still salty what they did to Michael, for about 8 different reasons, but now isn’t time for a discovery rant.

It just fell a little flat to me. of Course she’d get a fair trial and be found innocent, we live in a utopia!!! Duh! Mariner was being irrational and misbehaving as usual! and it was kind of... Just shy of smug. When if she hadn’t been found innocent a very un-utopia thing would have happened. It feels shallow in context of my wider issues with Discovery’s opener.

Which is why i am choosing to Not take that as a dig to any new trek shows bc otherwise it will annoy me. It was just a funny, shallow gag! Nothing deep about it.

Theres some old atl/a post on here before it got put on netflix and the series was renewed, and I think the post was abt those prison guards in book 3 of atla who conversed casually and all that (not super evil villains lobbing fireballs everywhere), and tumblr rlly praised that they were shown as human beings or whatever, and normal people that don't have world domination on their minds are also participating in the fire nation/as antagonists/whatever, and I think people on here fixated on that one post way too much. That little point and the fandoms' mentality with that idea goes like triple for fm/a as a whole

#personal #not to discourse abt at/la rn but i remember rewatching at/la and thinking its weird how theres only one fire nation character who actually #opposes their nations actions #and he gets an entire ep in s1 and only comes back in s3 allied w the old guys group as like a cameo #and ik tumblr rlly likes to praise the future potential/redemption part of characters like roy mustang/iroh (war criminals)#and they acknowledge the characters that arent totally evil (prison guards/lower level military characters)#but its like. isnt the bar low...#the rockbells in fma are seen as good during ishval instead of what shouldve been the automatic right thing to do in anextreme circumstance #ik its bc theyre fictional characters and ppl love talking abt redemption arcs but idk can we raise the bar sjdhdjsks #no. i do not think arakawa making mustang more likable than scar narratively is a point shes trying to make abt sympathetic characters
