French TV journalist having a hard time trying to get woman in the street to comment on Macron's latest speech yesterday
Protesters organised casserolades (aka banging on pots and pans) in front of city halls across the country at 8pm, when Macron was speaking, to symbolically drown out his voice. Later that evening, Macron was filmed singing a song with some 'random people' in a street in Paris, trying to show he can go out and meet people and have fun because protesters don't exist. The people he was singing with (members of a choir, some of whom are 'alt-right-leaning') were using a folk song app created by far-right activists that was criticised a few months ago for hosting a Spanish fascist anthem & Third Reich military marches.
The government's response was that the President "couldn't know the background of the people he met that night." Maybe if he wants to avoid being associated with the far-right (that's a big if, I know), Macron should keep in mind that with the kinds of strategies and positioning his government has adopted lately, people in the street who welcome him with open arms and are proud to be filmed with him have a higher than average likelihood of supporting fascism.
Some wips (but I forgot to take pictures of most of the steps) + the 'clean' version (basically without the hearts because I posted this on Instagram too and people I know irl follow me there 🥲)
Putting an extra text note on the poll too just because I'm seeing more of these types of comments on this poll than I have on many previous ones: Please read the pinned post of my blog and look at my original notes on this poll before asking why a certain version was not included. There are going to be more Robin Hood based polls later with another set of adaptations. If there's a particularly notable version- such as Men in Tights- that is not on here it is probably because it is going to be part of the second set. This is true of most polls I do where there are many many adaptations. They will eventually receive another poll and possibly eventually a compilation poll presenting all the most popular options from previous versions together.
You can talk about how much you enjoyed the film without bashing the show and you can talk about how much you love the show without bashing the films.
Of course, everyone has the right to voice their opinions and express that they disliked this or that.
But you look hella stupid when you're making ignorant takes and saying stuff like "omg astruc's writing is so shit lollllll love the film" or "the film gives us what WE want unlike the show lollll"
Both are different with their own sets of restrictions and budgets and having different creative teams and direction. The show is still ongoing and has not finished whilst the film can only rely on becoming a hit so that they can continue and flesh out the story in sequels.
I know this is a very unoriginal observation (much like any other), but I'm finally reading The Great Gatsby, and even I wouldn't describe men the way Nick does.
Scar free-handing the Death Star laser is simultaneously so unhinged and impressive.
I also love how Scar made it real. It's made in context, rather than copied exactly the way it looks in Ep. IV or VI. He chose a palette that made sense for what it would look like in the sky above the Season 10 world and placed its orientation in a direction that fit where the laser needed to point and accounted for all these different variables within the SW canon by using multiple references dynamically.
I just appreciated how much consideration went into making it real, even for a silly sand shop goof.
