Everyone In BG3 Has The Same Ass (PROOF)

This is a follow up post to this one. ALRIGHT here's my photographic evidence that everyone in this game has the same ass. Pictures are under the read more. I revoked penis privileges for all the character models and censored the general crotch area, but there will be bare booty. Consider yourself warned.

Alright here's all ya men. Models and textures have been ripped straight from the game data, color values are taken from the game's code, and shaders have been painstakingly recreated by the great Volno, with a few slight tweaks by me to get the textures to look better in EEVEE. (Sorry everyone, I don't have the patience to wait 15 minutes per photo to render ass comparisons in cycles)

The black backdrop is there because otherwise y'all would be staring into a featureless bright white void. Dark mode users cry, Astarion's chin disappears, it's just ugly all around.

Now, I know you're wondering. Did Elora fuck with the camera angles or use different models, all to convert us to her devious ass-genda? Be comforted, dear viewers, because I came prepared. With measurements.

Now, we know from a tweet from Larian that Astarion is 5' 9". I'm a little skeptical of that number myself, since there's a Githyanki line in the game that puts him at 5' 11". There's also the fact that if you convert the feet to inches, you get The Funny Sex Number. But whatever, I'll play along.

Here's a ruler that's exactly as tall as Astarion, divided into 69ths. If the number Larian gave us is correct, then each marking will be one inch.

Here's the same ruler, centered on the cheeks. According to these Incredibly Scientific Calculations, everyone's cake is 14 inches wide and 7 inches tall. Perfectly rectangular.

If we spin em around, we can see that everyone has a standard Dumper Depth of about 2 inches.

And. since I know someone will ask, no, Wyll does not get a new ass upon demonification.

Now, I see you Holy Rolan Empire. I see the Gortfuckers. I see the Raphaelites. You are NOT exempt. Because guess what.

THEY ALSO HAVE THE SAME ASS.

Now before everyone comes at me in the comments, I'm pretty sure this is just a case of BRUTAL video game efficiency. The game's already 130 GB. They need to save on resources wherever they can. In an ideal world, Gale wouldn't have abs, Gortash would have love handles, and everyone would have custom-sculpted derrieres. But unfortunately we live in a timeline where computer hard drives are finite.

I bring this up not to de-legitimize anyone's choice of husbando, but so that we can move past the ass wars and move onto more important discussions. Like whether gnome tavs can canonically turn into mind flayers.

I saw a post recently about what could’ve happened to Arabella post-game, but what I need to know is what happened to Yenna.

tldr Larian tell me what happened to my girl wait nvm ik what’s canon to me

Did she stay safe in the Elfsong during the Netherbrain’s attack? How did she feel when all of her heroes left the inn one last time? Whose care did they leave her in?

And then once the dust settles and the fractured remains of the party come back to celebrate, what then?

Maybe after weeks of her helping in the kitchen, the Elfsong’s chef finally begrudgingly admits he’s impressed and takes her on as an apprentice, and she becomes Baldur’s Gate’s finest. She grows up as the gate grows back.

Maybe Rion meets her in the midst of celebration and sees a companion for Fig in her, and asks if she wants a quieter place to sleep. Elerrathin’s Home finds a new balance as she settles in. Slowly, she has a family again. A home.

The companions might have something in mind for her. In awe of Tav’s magic, she could admit she wants to learn, and Gale enrolls her in the finest wizarding classes in Waterdeep. Shadowheart decides a little extra help on the farm wouldn’t hurt. (Dad)Astarion, longing for rest, suggests quietly that she can come with him, just for a while. If she wants! That on the road they might find a little peace, if not a little adventure too. (In my hc he’d only be brave enough to suggest it if he’s with Tav but I digress.)

Maybe her path only crosses with the companions again once she’s a little older. Minsc meets her in the city and recruits her good heart in his quest to change the Guild. Wyll and Karlach or Lae’zel return to the gate and find she’s become a young adventurer, a Baldurian through and through.

My favorite of her potential fates ironically is what’s most likely to be canon—Halsin sees her after their celebrations. She’s so tired. Their fellowship is breaking, and so is her something of a family. He knows the exhaustion hovering over fear in her eyes all too well. He wants to see light in them again.

So he takes her with him. Back in nature, she learns how to be a child again.

Brb going to go cry over Yenna. I love that little girl.

(I know we’re not getting a BG4 from Larian at least, but imagine a little sequel where you play as Yenna a few years later. Or any of the kids—Mol, Arabella, Fig. That would be so special.)

One of the things that drew me to writing Wyll is specifically the fact that he’s underdeveloped in the game. The other characters are so richly depicted in the canon that it’s almost impossible to improve on, and it’s not particularly interesting to rewrite scenes that were already so brilliantly executed.

But Wyll… Wyll has all this great set-up that tragically the game did basically nothing with. He’s a demon-hunter who was cursed to become a demon. He’s too ashamed to face the tieflings he rescues from death for fear they’ll see their tormentors in his face. His father kicked him out of the house for dealing with a devil. He can never explain to his father why he did it. His father is disgusted by him and he still loves his father with his whole heart. He’s wracked by self-loathing but instead of becoming bitter or resentful, it’s a cross he willingly chose to bear and he’d trade away his soul all over again to save one other person’s life.

If he weren’t a warlock he’d be a paladin: not the paladins of D&D 5e, but the older concept of the paladin as a person whose core ethos is self-sacrifice and mercy and love. But love is the paladin’s curse, because in its idealized form it is unconditional. It’s easy to love innocent children or grateful refugees. But he also loves people who think he’s a monster. He loves the tieflings even though he sees it in their eyes that they don’t trust a servant of Mizora. He loves his father even though the man openly hates him. And it hurts so, so much to love people who hate you - especially when you yourself believe their reasons for hating you are justified.

And of course Wyll is still a young man and he’s imperfect in some very charming and silly ways; he loves his goofy superhero identity and he can’t resist talking his exploits up to the kids and he would die for you but he’ll still give you shit about your ethically sourced fair-trade GMO-free organic rat-blood diet. But he would die for you. He’d go to hell forever for you. And he’d do it even if you’d never know what he’d done.
