Information on pruning overgrown plants.
Your goals are to have adequate air flow throughout the plant, remove diseased or dead branches, and have good light penetrating the entire plant.
Remove any branch that is rubbing against another. This can cause an open wound on the branch, which is an opportunity for disease to invade the plant.
Remove branches that are growing toward the center of the plant. Also, remove any branches that cross each other. Remember we want to provide both air circulation and light penetration.
Remove any dead or diseased branches. A dead branch will be brittle, its buds will be brown. While a live branch will be flexible, buds will be green and there will be a green layer under the bark.
Generally, remove 1/3 of the plants’ height or 1/3 of its branches.
Remove any suckers and or waterspouts. These 2 types of branches look similar, growing straight up. However, a sucker originates from the roots or below the graft. While the waterspout will be vigorous and originate from the trunk or large branches.
Here is some additional information:

planting trees in densely urban areas will lower the urban heat-island effect on the ground and reduce the number of heat-related illnesses and deaths over time.
trees also help pull pollution from the atmosphere and fix it into their wood and bark. did you know trees life spans can be shortened by being closer to roads/polluted air? they serve us and die for us and we don’t even notice.
trees protect us and we should really respect them more as the globe warms. In the USA, if you’re wealthy/lucky you will have many trees in your neighborhood. If you are in a low-income area they are rarer. this directly correlates to heat deaths.
so if you see a tree dying from drought in your neighborhood…. maybe give it a hand if you can. that tree may very much pay your community back years down the line

You mentioned that Arbor has many fun applications, can we get that?
Tumblr media
-As Kamui Woods can grow more wood around his body, he could easily use that to morph parts of himself. This could be used in a lot of cool ways, like him adding layers and layers of wood for defense or making a bunch of jagged branches for his attacks. He could even go full-on Groot mode with a monstrous tree form.
-Since he can also shape the wood's growth, he could develop it into greater structures before snapping them off. This could be especially good in disaster zones, could build bridges in a disaster zone, make support beams to keep a structure from falling apart, and provide temporary shelter for injured people.
-Combining both of those, he could eventually learn how to add additional parts to his body, like making extra arms to fight people or a flail around his hand. In fact, if he got detailed enough with his crafting, he could do things like sticking his fingers in a lock to try and jimmy it out or grow whole new additions like wooden wings.
-He could learn to control and grow his wood once it has been removed as well, like taking a bunch of splinters from him only to throw them all out to become spears or planting them in the ground, in another wooded surface to nab someone who gets too close to them, cause them to violently grow out of something to destroy it.
-A fun one could be him learning how to grow out other plant life or at least trees, such as by integrating the seeds of them in his wood while he's growing them out. This could be amazing for making food for people or try to make wood with special properties to them, such as using the flame resistance of pine trees to protect himself.
-Again, putting all this together, he could grow and shape his wood into constructs, either putting them as a shell around himself or using them as minions to spread himself out and counter his fragility. Like imagine something like the Earth Beasts, but all made of wood, battling multiple foes at the same time or helping out more people.

Garden lighting can transform almost any design and extends the length of time one can sit outside. From indoors the results are equally important but remember that simplicity is the key to success.
