Thanks for tagging me @noire-pandora!
I’ll tag @boshtet-juggler, @hermiowngranger, @thehawkewithgoldeneyes, @asaara-writes
From the next chapter of Love All (all I’ve written so far, really, but I’m so excited for this Before Sunrise chapter!!!):
It starts with a bottle of something called ‘Royaume d’Or Chateau Ghislain’, which Fenris snatches off the shelf at a quaint little market a few blocks away from the hotel almost the second he lays his eyes on it.
“It is a coveted vintage, and a quarter of the price it would be at the shop back home,” he says excitedly, holding the neck of the bottle gently with slender fingers.
“Orlais might be good for something after all,” Hawke mutters, catching a glare from the sharp-eared shop-keep.
“Fereldans?” he says, counting out the ten little silver coins they slide him across the counter.
“Kirkwall, actually.”
The shop-keep rolls his eyes, but not quite unkindly. “It is close enough.”
They emerge into the street, far from the only revelers, with most heading towards the Grand Cathedral while Hawke and Fenris wander in the opposite direction, through narrow, gas-lit cobblestone alleys.
“Let’s find some place to drink this,” she says, and one of their chosen alleys eventually opens up into a boardwalk by a wide canal, lined with park benches facing the water and lit by the same warm yellow streetlamps. A few boats float by, dressed in string lights in vibrant colours, topped with people laughing, singing, dancing. The closest to them wave, yelling something in friendly Orlesian, as Fenris retrieves from somewhere a pocket knife and gets to fiddling with the wrapping around the cork. He lifts the bottle in their direction – they whoop and cheer, and Fenris grins.
